Great to see so many good songs in your top 10 - especially Paloma, N.O.R.E., Stefflom Don, Haim and Ke$ha. I checked out the Dej Loaf songs and they're actually great!

1 Stefflon Don ft.French Montana - Hurtin’ Me 1 4 22 26

In its fourth week on my chart Stefflon Don secures her first chart topper with "Hurtin Me" and in doing so makes French Montana the first artist of the year to have 2 chart toppers on my chart, following "Unforgettable" earlier this year. She is the first female rapper to top my chart as lead artist since Missy Elliott's "WTF" 2 years ago. Speaking of female rappers there's new peaks for both Dej Loaf's current hits as "No Fear" leapfrogs "Changes", now at no.7 and no.11, while Lin-Manuel's debut charity effort "Almost Like Praying" is now up to no.4.

The weeks highest new entry also finds a place in my top 10, giving Riton a first top 10 hit at no.8 with "Deeper". It marks their third hit in total with "Rinse & Repeat" making no.11 in 2016 and "Money" making no.16 earlier this year. It's also a 7th hit for MNEK, and a third top 10 following the Duke Dumont feature "Hold On", a no.8 in 2013 and "Every Little Word", a 2014 no.1. "Deeper" takes an old Aretha Franklin sample a song that not only gives both Eddie Thoneick and Corenell previous hits, but topped the chart for DJ Tiesto and Anastacia back in 2011 on "What Can We Do (A Deeper Love)".

There's also a 7th hit for rapper Angel, and highest charting as lead artist as "Take You Home" enters at no.15. Though his feature on Fuse ODG's "TINA" did manage no.7 in 2014, his previous highest solo effort came in 2012 when "Time After Time" made no.20.

Eamon has been absent from my chart for 11 years, but this week returns with "I Got Soul" at no.17. Ofenbach & Nick Waterhouse both make their debut as "Katchi" enters at no.22 and boyband Citizen Four also get their first hit with "My Name Is (Say It)" at no.27, it heavily samples Destinys Child's 2000 no.1 "Say My Name".

There's a 5th hit for Cheat Codes at no.28 and "Feels Great", they peaked on Robin Schulz and David Guetta collaboration "Shed A Light" which made no.5 last year and this one follows the no.37 peak of "No Promises" earlier this year. This one also gives Fetty Wap and CVBZ their chart debuts.

Mabel had a top 10 hit with "Thinking Of You", making no.7 last year, but has only had 2 minor hits since, this week she gets a fourth entry with a much better start as "Begging" enters at no.31. Peking Duk get their third hit at no.32, "Let You Down" directly follows "Fake Magic" which made no.28 a few months back. The new one features Icona Pop, giving them a 6th chart appearance.

Amber Mark recently made no.2 with "Heatwave" and now follows it with "Lose my Cool" in at no.36.

2 time chart topper Tiesto returns at no.40 with "Carry You Home", stretching his chart history out for 16 years now. The new one is the first since "Summer Nights" made no.16 last Summer. The collaboration marks a 4th credit to Stargate and 5th for Aloe Blacc.

Finally, Gabrielle Aplin has so far either reached no.5 on my chart ("Home" and "Salvation"), or failed to chart at all, but this week she breaks that pattern and enters at no.49 with "Say Nothing".

2 Riton vs.MNEK & House Gospel Choir - Deeper 2 8
1 Stefflon Don ft.French Montana - Hurtin’ Me 1 1 4 22 26

The week ends with Stefflon Don holding onto the top spot with "Hurtin Me" for a second week, but hot on her heels we have Riton and MNEK moving closer at no.2 with "Deeper". It appears to be close to giving MNEK his second chart topper, following 2014's "Every Little Word". Also in the top 10 there's new peaks for Lin-Manuel Miranda (no.3), Dej Loaf (no.6), Jessie J (no.8) and Tove Lo, who moves "Disco Tits" up to no.10, it gives her a second top 10 hit, trailing only 2014's no.2 "Stay High".

Angel, Eamon and Shakka all move towards my top 10, and the highest new entry comes in at no.19. It's for Josh Gibbons who managed no.22 earlier in the year with his version of "PYT", his new one, "Sunglasses In The Rain", is only the second charting song to feature Sunglasses in the title, coming 15 years since Tiga & Zytherius "Sunglasses At Night".

Firebeatz made no.20 back in 2013 with "Wonderful" and finally follow it up with "Show Me Your Love", new at no.21 this week, it also gives Lucas & Steve an impressive 8th entry to my chart in just 18 months, 3 of which went top 20, with their peak coming at no.11 where they reached with "Up Til Dawn (On The Move)"

Another that's had to wait for their dance follow up hit is Camelphat, their only previous hit, "Hollywood" made no.31 back in 2014, they do a little better this time with "Cola" new at no.22, ahead of Emily Middlemas, Cheat Codes and Mabel who all advance towards my top 20.

Joining them is a 6th hit for Loreen and "Jungle", new at no.30, it's her third hit this year, and sits between "Body", which made no.44 and "Statements" which gave her a second no.1. This one gives Elliphant her 4th chart appearance, her peak coming in 2015 when her feature on Major Lazers "Too Original" made no.2.

Amine makes his debut at no.34 with "Spice Girl" and there's a 6th hit for producer Felix Jaehn at no.37 with "Like A Riddle", his peak was remixing Omi's "Cheerleader", a no.7 in 2015.

8 years since Jason DeRulo made no.7 with his debut hit "Watcha Say", he's since had 25 hits on my chart including the 2 no.1s "Dont Wanna Go Home" (2011) and "The Other Side" (2013) as well as 9 further top 10 hits, including this years no.4 peaking "Swalla". His latest, "If I'm Lucky" starts this week at no.41.

Finally this week, after a handful of top 20 hits from her 2006 debut, Brooke Hogan failed to chart at all from her 2009 follow up, but a decade since her last appearance, "Taste Like Summer" is new at no.47.

2 Riton vs.MNEK & House Gospel Choir - Deeper 2 2 8
1 Stefflon Don ft.French Montana - Hurtin’ Me 1 1 1 4 22 26

The top 2 remains unchanged this week with Stefflon Don holding the top spot for a third consecutive week. New to the top 3 is Amber Mark who flies up to no.3 with "Lose My Cool" giving her a second top 3 hit just weeks after "Heatwave" made no.2. Jessie J moves up to no.4 with "Real Deal" while Tove Lo and Eamon also improve at no.6 and no.10.

As Shakka moves closer to the top 10 at no.14, the highest new entry this week follows at no.15 and it's a third hit for Nadia Rose. "Big Woman" follows on from "Tight Up" which made no.10 earlier this year. Also in the top 20 a climb for Camelphat and Elderbrook who are now at no.20 with "Cola".

There's a 6th hit for duo, Nervo this week at no.21. "Loco", which takes a sample of a classic piece, "Asturias", most famously used on Jam & Spoon's 90s hit "Right In the Night". Nervo have so far only gone higher with "Let It Go" which made no.19 last year.

Matrix & Futurebound were on a bit of a roll with back to back hits from 2012-2016 including the no.3 hits "Magnetic Eyes" and "Fire", but after failing to chart with their last release, "Light Us Up", they return this week at no.26 with "Human" giving Matrix a 7th hit in total.

Rounding off the top 30 this week is a return for 2 frequent chart toppers. N*E*R*D topped my chart 5 times between 2001-2010 while Rihanna has had 8 number ones between 2005-2011. The 2 unstoppable forces unite this week to enter at no.30 with "Lemon". Rihanna was last around earlier this year when her feature on DJ Khaled's "Wild Thoughts" made no.4, while NERD haven't appeared since 2010 no.1 "Hypnotize You"

Former Danity Kane member Dawn Richard had back to back hits with "SMFU" (no.29, 2011) and "Faith" (no.39, 2012), but hasn't been seen since. This week she finally gets a third hit as "Stopwatch" starts at no.31. Elkie Brooks is not a name we hear much of these days, but she has just released her Greatest Hits album and from it she releases 1979 Disco album track, "The Rising Cost Of Love" to give her a first entry to my chart at 72 years old.

Finally this week there's a 12th hit for Jessie Ware who gets a third top 40 hit from latest album with "Alone" at no.35, it directly follows "Midnight" (no.32) and "Selfish Love" (no.33). These tracks are a bit off peaking singles from her first 2 albums with "Imagine It Was Us" making no.1 in 2013 and "Say You Love Me" reaching no.4 in 2014.

2 Amber Mark - Lose My Cool 2 3 35 36
1 Stefflon Don ft.French Montana - Hurtin’ Me 1 1 1 1 4 22 26

Holding on for a fourth straight week now it's Stefflon Don's "Hurtin Me", making it the longest running chart topper since Harry Styles managed 8 weeks in the Spring. Amber Mark creeps up to no.2 with "Lose My Cool" now equalling the peak of her debut, "Heatwave". Matrix & Futurebound get their fourth top 10 hit this week as "Human" moves up to no.4, just behind the no.3 peaks of "Magnetic Eyes" and "Fire", but above the no.6 peak of "Control".

Eamon and Angel also improve at no.5 and no.10, their career bests so far. While the highest new entry comes in at no.9, a 5th top 10 hit for Miguel. "Told You So" is the follow up to "Shockandawe" which made no.7 a few weeks back, though his peak is still featured on Mariah Carey's no.5 hit "#Beautiful".

Icona Pop topped my chart back in 2013 on "I Love It" and this week get a 7th hit with "They're Building Walls Around Us" at no.12, their only other to go higher was 2015's "Emergency" which made no.8. Nervo move up to no.17 to get their highest peak yet with "Loco" and there's a 4th hit for Raye at no.20 with "Decline". She went higher featuring on Jax Jones "You Don't Know Me" (no.9) and Jonas Blue's "By Your Side" (no.11). It's also a second hit for Mr Eazi, following his no.16 feature on Riton's "Money". The song borrows heavily from Ashanti's "Foolish" which made no.2 back in 2002.

Tavi Castro managed no.7 last year with "So Serious", and now follows it up with "Moonlight" new at no.21.

Jay Sean's peak came in 2003 when he featured on Rishi Rich's no.1 "Dance With You", recently he's been around the top 30 mark with last years "Make My Love Go" reaching no.29 and this years "Do You Love Me?" making no.28, the same place that latest release "What You Want" enters, it gives credit to Davido, who like Mr Eazi also featured on Riton's "Money".

The Knocks get their 6th hit this week with "House Party" entering at no.29, last years "Kiss The Sky" with Wyclef Jean is their best performer so far making no.13.

There's also a 5th hit for Klingande at no.31, though all their others have gone higher so far, including 2014's no.12 "Jubel". Latest hit "Pumped Up" samples Foster The People's "Pumped Up Kicks" which failed to chart here, though a version by Usher made no.27 in 2012.

The Bunt remix of OneRepublic's "Lets Hurt Tonight" made no.21 earlier this year, now they chart on their own accord with "On My Way" new at no.34. Chromeo get a 7th hit with "Juice" their peak came in 2011 when "When The Night Falls" made no.6.

Bright Light Bright Light reached no.36 earlier this year with "Running Back To You", they equal that position this week with "Put A Little Love In Your Heart" meanwhile further down the top 50 there's debuts for Cliq and Felix Snow.

2 SeeB & Skip Marley - Cruel World 2
1 Jason DeRulo ft.French Montana - Tip Toe 1

So after four weeks on top, Stefflon Don is pushed down to no.3 by another song to feature French Montana, "Tip Toe" by Jason DeRulo. "Hurtin Me" made Montana the first act of the year to have 2 number ones, and now before anyone else can make a second, he has his third. The track gives DeRulo his 26th charting hit and third chart topper following 2011's "Dont Wanna Go Home" and 2013's "The Other Side".

SeeB were close to getting a third no.1 this week following "Under Your Skin" from earlier this year and "What Do You Love?" from last year, but instead their 8th hit just misses out at no.2, "Cruel World" is also a fourth hit this year for Skip Marley who made the same position when featured on Katy Perry's "Chained To The Rhythm" earlier this year.

Icona Pop finally score a second top 5 hit as "They're Building Walls Around Us" shoots up to no.5, only outpeaked by 2013 chart topper "I Love It".

LeAnn Rimes latest album "Remnants" has given her a bit of a comeback on my chart with "How To Kiss A Boy" making no.19 and then "Love Is Love Is Love" going as high as no.9, this week a remix package of "Love Line" helps her get the albums third top 20 hit as it starts at no.19, it's her first album to provide 3 top 20 hits since 2000's "I Need You".

Tavi Castro and Nervo climb inside the top 20, and there's one more new entry, a 9th hit for Sigma at no.18 with "Forever". It matches 2015's "Glitterball", but is so far behind the no.2 peak of last years "Coming Home", everything else has peaked outside of my top 30. The song also gives Quavo his third charting hit following features on top 10 hits for Major Lazer and DJ Khaled earlier this year.

The Saturdays have seen solo hits last year for Una Healy (no.37) and Vanessa White (no.38), this week the third one arrives in the form of Mollie King starting at no.27 with "Hair Down". The group had 14 hits between 2008-2014 including the no.3 "What About Us?", no.4 "Up" and no.5 "Gentleman".

Singer Jones gets her debut hit this week as "Something Bout Our Love" is new at no.28. Elbow peaked with a live lounge cover of Amerie's "One Thing", making no.23 in 2005, this week their first hit since "One Day Like This" made no.50 in 2008, as their cover of The Beatles "Golden Slumbers" is new at no.31. It's the latest John Lewis Christmas advert song to chart, so far behind last years Vaults "One Day I'll Fly Away" which made no.24, the advert tradition provided 2 top 5 hits so far for Ellie Goulding's "Your Song" making no.2 in 2010 and Tom Odell, a no.4 in 2014 with another Beatles song "Real Love".

Bruno Martini made no.30 earlier this year on "Never Let Me Go", the follow up, "Road" is new at no.35 and finally the return of The Wombats who topped my chart in 2008 with "Backfire At The Disco" they followed it with no.2's "My Circuitboard City" in 2009 and "Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)" in 2010, but 2015 album "Glitterbug" peaked only with "Give Me A Try" making no.23. Their latest single "Lemon To A Knife Fight" starts off quietly at no.38.

LeAnn Rimes, Miguel, Tove Lo and Riton vs MNEK are the best ones nearer the top.

JONES needs to climb.

1 SeeB & Skip Marley - Cruel World 1 2

There's a change of hands at the top with SeeB climbing up to get a third no.1 with "Cruel World", they follow French Montana to become the second act this year to have two chart toppers, following "Under Your Skin". Icona Pop moves up to get a second top 3 hit with "They're Building Walls Around Us" at no.3, Nervo get their first top 10 hit as "Loco" is up at no.7. Sigma get their second top 10 hit as "Forever" is up at no.8 and it's a 13th top 10 hit for LeAnn Rimes and second this year as "Love Line" is now at no.10.

Ina Wroldsen was on top of my chart around this time last year featured on Martin Solveig's "Places", she also made no.24 in 2015 on Calvin Harris "How Deep Is Your Love?", this week she gets a first hit of her own as "Stronger" enters at no.11. There's a fourth hit for Joe Stone, he topped my chart last year with Ferreck Dawn on "Sublime", a take on Mariah Carey's "Someday", he made no.3 in 2015 on "The Party", a take on Montell Jordans' "This Is How We Do It" and also made no.45 last year on "Man Enough", a take on the Toni Braxton classic. This week he enters at no.16 with "Let's Go Together", which borrows from Change's song of the same name from the 80s.

Another act that like to make use of a sample is KBM who reached no.3 in 2015, an interpretation of Sugar Hill Gangs "Rappers Delight", they return with a third hit, "Stop Playig", new at no.23 it borrows from Madonna's "Borderline". Cadenza reached no.49 last year with "People" and follow it up this week with "Parking Spot", new at no.27, it gives Yxng Bane his first charting hit and a second for Shenseea, who appeared on Offaiah's no.2 hit "Run This Town" earlier this year.

Natasha Bedingfield topped my chart 5 times between 2004-2008 but has not been seen in 6 years, last appearing here when "Shake Up Christmas" made no.35 in 2011. This week "Hey Boy" enters at no.33.

There's a fourth hit for Giorgio Moroder. He made no.5 in 2015 with "Deja Vu", this week "Champagne, Secrets & Chanel" is new at no.34. They first charted in March last year when "Make It Right" made no.23, now Lucas & Steve get their 9th charting hit as "Keep Your Head Up" starts at no.39 and with it giving Firebeatz their third entry.

4 Jason DeRulo ft.French Montana - Tip Toe 4 2 1
3 Ina Wroldsen - Strongest 3 11
2 Icona Pop - They’re Building Walls Around Us 2 3 5 12
1 SeeB & Skip Marley - Cruel World 1 1 2

SeeB holds on for a second week with "Cruel World" while Icona Pop moves up to no.2 and Ina Wroldsen is now at no.3, both looking for a second no.1, Icona Pop had a 2013 no.1 with "I Love It" and Ina featured on last years no.1 for Martin Solveig, "Places".

Sigma improves at no.6, and LeAnn Rimes now scores her biggest hit since 2007 no.2 "Nothin Better To Do" as "Love Line" rises to no.7. Shakka who peaked at no.14 with "Heart The Weekend" 5 weeks ago but has since fallen out the top 20, makes a rise to no.9 this week, far outpeaking the no.32 and no.36 peaks he had featuring on tracks by Wretch 32 and Basement Jaxx.

Giorgio Moroder is looking to follow "Deja Vu" into the top 10 as "Champagne, Secrets & Chanel" makes a huge leap to no.11 and Joe Stone is on for a third top 10 hit as "Let's Go Together" is now up to no.13.

The weeks highest new entry come next and it's a 35th hit for rapper Flo Rida. In the last 10 years he has scored 4 no.1s, all as lead artist, they were "Sugar" (2009) and "Wild Ones", "Good Feeling" and "Who Dat Girl?" (all 2011). His last hit as lead artist came last year when "Zillionaire" made no.2, this week he starts at no.14 with "Cake".

Lucas & Steve are now in my top 20 for the fourth time as "Keep Your Head Up" moves up to no.16. Despite releasing something most weeks, Sia scores just her third hit of the year, following a feature on Stargate's "Waterfalls" (no.27) and her own "Move Your Body" (no.22), she's now in my top 20 for the first time since last years no.13 peaking "Angel By The Wings" with the first song from her new Christmas album, "Candy Cane Lane" is the first festive entry to chart for me this year and starts at no.18, can it match the peak of her 11 no.1 singles on my chart? Finally inside the top 20, Elbow are up at no.19 with this years John Lewis ad "Golden Slumbers".

Wombats "Lemon To A Knife Fight" has slowly been climbing my chart and now reaches no.23, the same peak as 2015's "Give Me A Try", meaning now that the last hit they had that was bigger is 2010 no.9 "Jump Into The Fog". The third highest new entry this week is a third hit for Kygo, "Kids In Love" is new at no.24, and is just behind the biggest hit "Stay" which made no.20 in 2015.

Thrdl!fe and SAARA both made their debut on my chart earlier this year when their collaboration "Can't Buy Love" reached no.30. Both return this week with Thrdl!fe in at no.27 with "For Love" it features Kelli-Leigh giving her a third and highest reaching hit, and Mario who has been absent from my chart for a decade. While SAARA is in at no.41 with "All The Love", giving Jillionaire his second hit too.

Country star Kane Brown gets his third hit as "Heaven" is new at no.30, he peaked at no.13 last year with "Aint No Stoppin Us Now", and there's an 8th hit for Chainsmokers at no.35 with "Young", only 3 of their songs have charted higher, "Inside Out" (no.11), "Paris" (no.10) and "Don't Let Me Down" (no.2).

Inna gets her 25th hit this week with "Nirvana" making a slow start at no.38, it is the third hit from the album of the same name, following "Gimme Gimme" (no.33) and "Ruleta" (no.6). Finally there's a third hit for Sandra Lyng a no.43 with "Bungalow", she peaked in 2015 when "Play My Drum" made no.15.

1 Jennifer Hudson - Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight 1

Well it was about this time last year that Jennifer Hudson came out with "I Know Where I've Been", a huge number one on my chart from the Hairpsray Live soundtrack, a year on she's straight back in there with "Golden Slumbers", a song from last years "Sing", though I've discovered it thanks to the recent Elbow cover which made no.19 here last week. It gives Jennifer her third number one, the other being "Leaving Tonight", a 2007 duet with Ne-Yo. It's her 7th appearance in my top 10.

Moving up to no.4 this week comes Giorgio Moroder and "Champagne, Secrets & Chanel", now outpeaking "Deja Vu" which made no.5 for him in 2015. One Bit make their debut at no.6 with "My Way", a duet with Noah Cyrus, it gives her a second hit following "Stay Together", a no.28 earlier this year.

As Inna prepares to release her latest album, the tracks are coming thick and fast, her last album scored a total of 11 top 50 hits on my chart, the latest, "Nirvana" now gets its fourth as "Don't Mind" starts at no.12 and "Nirvana" zooms up to no.8 to give her a 15th top 10 hit in total.

Jax Jones continues a run of top 10 hits, all but one of their 6 hits has gone top 10, with "I Got U" (no.1), "Go Deep" (no.4), "Instruction" (no.8), "You Don't Know Me" (no.9) now being joined by "Breathe" new at no.9, it also gives Ina Wroldsen her 4th hit and third top 10.

Rak-Su managed no.18 with X-Factor audition track "I'm Feeling You", now winners they enter at no.16 with "Dimelo" making them the first X-Factor winners since Little Mix to have a top 10 hit. The song features 7 time chart topper Wyclef Jean and also gives Naughty Boy his 7th hit.

Bright Light Bright Light made no.36 last month with a version of "Put A Little Love In Your Heart", now it makes a return at no.18 giving them a biggest hit so far and a first top 20 hit 6 years for Pallot.

There's an 8th hit for Oliver Heldens at no.20 with "What The Funk", his peak came in 2015 when "Shades Of Grey" made no.6. The song has been remixed by Steve Aoki and gives him an 8th hit.

Syleena Johnson has topped my chart three times, with "Hit On Me" in 2002, a feature on KanYe Wests "All Falls Down" in 2004 and Musiq Soulchild duet "Feel The Fire" in 2013. She returns this week with "Make Me Yours" at no.23, one place ahead of "No Pressure", a no.24 debut for Mahalia.

Fuse ODG gets a 12th hit at no.27 with "Boa Me", he topped my chart on 2013 debut "Antenna", the new one features Ed Sheeran and so gives him a 5th appearance and first since 2014's "Sing" made no.41.

Martin Garrix gets his 7th hit with "So Far Away" at no.30, he peaked last year when "Together" made no.22, the song is one of 2 David Guetta songs to debut this week and marks the return of Jamie Scott who made no.3 with "Seaching" back in 2005.

1 Major Lazer & DJ Maphorisa ft.Nasty C, Jidenna, Ice Prince & Patoranking - Particula 1

The artists with the biggest hits on my chart of 2014 and 2015 have the highest new entries this week and one of them has done enough to shift J-Hud from the top after a single week. For Major Lazer "Particular" scores a fourth chart topper following 2014's "Come On To Me" and "Aerosol Can" and 2015's "Lean On", in all this marks a 12th top 10 hit for them and their third of the year following "Know No Better" (no.2) and "Run Up" (no.6). It features a whole host of artists, the only other with a chart credit previous being Patoranking who featured on Krishane's no.33 hit "Inconsiderate" last year.

Giorgio Moroder, One Bit and Jax Jones all get new peaks in the top 10 and Inna gets her 16th top 10 hit as "My Dreams" enters at no.9. It's the 5th charting hit from latest album "Nirvana", which also includes hits at no.8 and no.12 this week.

Bright Light Bright Light, Catherine McGrath and Oliver Heldens all reach new top 20 peaks this week too.

Next at no.21 is "Secrets", the debut from WHTKD and also giving KStewart her 4th charting hit, her peak being on 2014's no.9 hit "Last All Night (Koala)" by Oliver Heldens. Hot on the heels of the no.18 hit "Candy Cane Lane", Sia gets a second hit from her Christmas album, "Santa's Coming For Us" is new at no.26.

"Ni Tu Ni Yo" made no.18 for Jennifer Lopez earlier this year, the follow up "Amor Amor Amor" is the second hit from her forthcoming album and enters at no.28. Dej Loaf had 2 simultaneous hits earlier this year when "No Fear" made no.6 and "Changes" reached no.11. This week she returns featuring on the debut entry for Jacquees, "At The Club" at no.30.

Also this week a new remix of 1964 classic "Yeh Yeh" by Georgie Fame is in at no.35. Alex Gaudino continues his 100% strike rate at entering my top 50 as "Never Give Up On Love" is in at no.38, his biggest hit now since "Is This Love" made no.25 in 2013.

Otto Knows gets a fourth hit and Clean Bandit a 14th.

2 Jennifer Hudson - Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight 2 2 1
1 Major Lazer & DJ Maphorisa ft.Nasty C, Jidenna, Ice Prince & Patoranking - Particula 1 1

This week sees Major Lazer hold onto the top with 4th number one "Particula", ahead of an all steady top 3, and then 3 songs that heavily sample classic dance anthems from my chart. One Bit moves up to no.4 with a take on Mylo's "Drop The Pressure", Inna moves up to no.5 with "My Dreams" giving her a 9th top 5 hit, sampling Touch & Go's "Would You?" and the highest new entry is a debut at no.6 for both Sunset Brothers and Mark McCabe. "I'm Feeling It (In The Air)" follows a festive tradition of big dance anthems appearing for the party season. This one takes on both Nalin & Kane's "Beach Ball" and Morgan Page's "In The Air".

One more new entry makes the top 10 and it's a welcome return for Rudimental, their first hit in 4 years, "No Fear" is in at no.9, after scoring 4 hits from their debut album in 2012/13, including 2012 chart topper "Feel The Love", their 2015 failed to score a single chart entry and everything subsequently has had the same fate. "No Fear", finally gives them a fourth top 10 hit.

Another act who topped my chart in 2012 is PNAU, "Good Morning To The Night" was a duet with Elton John and a first of four top 5 hits for the act, all collaborations including Petite Meller and Faul & Wad Ad. Last year they were back with "Chameleon" at no.25 and now follow it up with "Go Bang" at no.11.

SZA has been hotly tipped, but on my chart so far she's only appeared on a Maroon 5 single, "What Lovers Do", which made no.6 earlier this year. She gets her first hit in her own right now as "The Weekend" enters at no.16, giving serial chart topper Calvin Harris a 24th top 20 hit and third this year following "Feels" (no.12) and "Slide" (no.1).

Pitbull ends the year with his 4th hit of 2017 as "Muevelo Loca Boom Boom" is in at no.22. Just short of the no.16 peak he made with "Hey Ma" earlier this year, it's the first time he's charted as the sole artist on a song since making no.3 in 2012 with "Back In Time".

Riton recently made no.2 with "Deeper", and this week get a fourth hit, though first to miss the top 20 with "Fake ID" in at no.23, it also gives Kah-Lo a fourth hit (three of which were also with Riton).

Another seasonal offering next and it's for Fantasia Barrino and the standard "This Christmas", Vonda Shepard, Seal, Mary J Blige, Joe and Ashanti have all recorded the song but it's Fantasia who gives it a first entry to my chart. It's her biggest hit since "No Time For It" made no.10 last year.

"Truths & Rights" is a 5th hit for Protoje at no.26, though so far all his other 5 went higher including 2015 no.2 "Who Knows?"

Mic Lowry follow up their no.45 debut "Whiskey Kisses" with another Christmas standard, "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas" is new at no.35 and again makes the first version to make my chart.

Finally Shakka gets a fourth hit with "Find Space" at no.47, a collaboration with Original Dodger, better known previously as Artful Dodger, they had 3 no.1s between 1999-2001 and now chart for the first time in 3 years, their 19th hit now in total.

Great to see "Talk of This Town" in the top 20 most played songs for the year! "Thought It Was Gonna Be Me" is even better in my opinion.

1 Major Lazer & DJ Maphorisa ft.Nasty C, Jidenna, Ice Prince & Patoranking - Particula 1 1 1

In the final chart of 2017 it's Major Lazer that holds on for a third week with "Particula", while Giorgio Moroder and Sunset Brothers both improve on their peaks at no.2 and no.3, and it's a 5th top 5 hit now for PNAU, although first with no other credited artist as "Go Bang!" climbs to no.5.

In a quiet week, the only other song improving in the top 10 is Rudimental, now up at no.8 with "No Fear".

While Pitbull, SZA and Bright Light Bright Light climb the top 20, Alex Gaudino gets his 5th top 20 hit and first in 6 years as "Never Give Up On Love" moves up to no.18.

Leading just 5 new entries this week is rapper Tyga. He's been a little hit and miss on my chart but all four of his charting songs have peaked between 21-25, with "Temperature" his latest in at no.25, it follows "Move To LA", a no.24 earlier this year, "Molly", a no.25 from 2013 and "Lemonade", a feature on the Danity Kane track which reached no.21.

Don Diablo also gets his fourth hit from multiple tries as "You Can't Change Me" at no.26. He made no.24 earlier this year with "Save A Little Love", no.28 in 2015 with "Got The Love" and peaked in 2016 when "What We Started" made no.12. The song takes on Roger Sanchez hit of the same name which made my top 20 in 2001.

There's a 7th hit for Wretch 32 this week at no.34 with "Tell Me", his first hit since "All A Dream" made no.20 last year, his peak comes from 2015 no.6 feature on Melissa Steel's "You Love Me?". His biggest as lead artist was 2011 no.19 "Unorthodox".

After a few years away from my chart Rudimental get a second hit in as many weeks as "Trouble" starts at no.35, a collaboration with Sub Focus who make this their 10th hit, their first since "Nobody Knows" made no.5 last year, they peaked in 2013 with chart topper "Turn Back Time". The song features Maverick Sabre, who's only other charting song was 2015's "Walk Into The Sun", which made no.36.

Finally this week Haim return at no.44 with fourth hit "Nothing's Wrong", 3 of those come from latest album, along with "Little Of Your Love" (no.5) and "Want You Back" (no.46), while their other appearance was a feature on Stromae's 2014 no.1 "Meltdown".

1 Major Lazer & DJ Maphorisa ft.Nasty C, Jidenna, Ice Prince & Patoranking - Particula 1 1 1 1

It's still quiet season right now as the first chart of the year kicks off with Major Lazer holding on for a fourth week with "Particula". Only 3 new entries make my chart this week, but there is a clim for pnau at no.2 and a re-entry for The Wombats, "Lemon To A Knife Fight" originally made no.23 a few weeks back, but now back at no.5 it is their first top 10 hit since "Jump Into The Fog" made no.9 in 2010, and marks their 4th top 5 hit. Alongside "Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves)" (no.2), "My Circuitboard City" (no.2) and "Backfire At The Disco" (no.1).

As "No Fear" makes a new peak at no.6 for Rudimental it matches the peak of previous charting single "Waiting All Night" from 2013 and another previous re-entry keeps going for Bright Light Bright Light, now at no.7 with "Put A Little Love In Your Heart", the song is Nerina Pallot's first top 10 hit in 12 years.

Don Diablo and Protoje both continue to climb inside the top 20, where they are joined by the highest new entry, it's the 6th charting hit from Inna's latest album, "Nirvana". "Hands Up" is straight in at no.19 and will be looking to match the success of "My Dreams" (no.5), "Ruleta" (no.6) and "Nirvana" (no.7), this is now her 20th top 20 hit and 28th hit in total.

Fickle Friends made no.34 at the top of 2017 with "Brooklyn" and now follow it up a year on with "Hard To Be Myself" going a little better at no.31. Finally following the no.5 success of "Bodak Yellow" last year, rapper, Cardi B returns with follow up, "Bartier Cardi" which begins at no.36.

2 pnau - Go Bang 2 2 5 11
1 Major Lazer & DJ Maphorisa ft.Nasty C, Jidenna, Ice Prince & Patoranking - Particula 1 1 1 1 1

So we continue this week with Major Lazer on top for a 5th week while PNAU spends a second week as runner up. Rudimental make a surge to no.3 with "No Fear", now chart topping debut "Feel The Love" is their only hit to go higher. Bruno Mars has always been a bit hit or miss on my chart, and this week he gets a 6th top 10 hit and the highest of the week with "Finesse". Of his 6 top 10s, 3 of them were as featured artist, "Finesse" joins 2012 no.5 "Moonshine" and 2016 no.1 "24k Magic". Featuring Cardi B, it gives her, a third appearance on my chart, her biggest being last years no.5 "Bodak Yellow".

Ke$ha is another artist that either really does well or really flops on my chart, "Learn To Let Go" gave her a first solo no.1 last year, this week "This Is Me" just misses giving her a 5th top 10 hit as it debuts at no.11.

Don Diablo moves to no.12 with "You Can't Change Me", now matching the peak of previous biggest hit "What We Started".

Yellow Claw made no.12 on my chart last year with "Good Day" and now follows that up with "Both Of Us" new at no.16, just ahead of Anne-Marie who gets her 5th hit, "Then" at no.17, she peaked last year with "Ciao Adios" at no.3.

Ruth Lorenzo topped my chart in 2014 with Eurovision entry "Dancing In The Rain", this week she gets her third hit, "Good Girls Don't Lie" at no.25. There's a 5th hit for Sam Feldt at no.30, a version of La Bouche's 90s classic "Be My Lover", Sam's biggest hit was last years "Fade Away" which made no.9.

Finally there's a 7th hit for Arlissa, "Hearts Aint Gonna Lie" at no.38, she peaked in 2013 with "Sticks & Stones" at no.13, this one is a collaboration with Jonas Blue, his 3rd hit, "By Your Side" has his peak, a no.11 in 2016.

2 pnau - Go Bang 2 2 2 5 11
1 Major Lazer & DJ Maphorisa ft.Nasty C, Jidenna, Ice Prince & Patoranking - Particula 1 1 1 1 1 1

In another quiet week it's a 6th week in a row at the top for Major Lazer and a third for pnau at no.2, they're joined in the top 3 now by Bruno Mars and Cardi B with "Finesse", for Bruno it's only a second top 3 hit, after 2016's no.1 "24K Magic", and for Cardi it's her first time as high.

The lack of new entries allows many climbers this week, including One Bit and Noah Cyrus who are back at their peak position of no.4, Ke$ha gets her 5th top 10 hit now as "This Is Me" moves up to no.6, and Anne-Marie gets her second top 10 hit, as "Then" moves up to no.9. to follow up last years no.3 "Ciao Adios".

The highest new entry comes from frequent chart visitor Pitbull, "Por Favor" is in at no.14, just a few weeks after "Muevelo Loca Boom Boom" made no.16. This one is a duet with girlgroup Fifth Harmony, who make their a 4th appearance on my chart, only "That's My Girl" went further going to no.2 in 2016.

There's room for one more top 20 hit and it's a second hit for Pete Tong. He made no.3 in 2016 on a version of "Good Life" with Katy B, now from his second Orchestra set he is joined by Craig David at no.20 for a take on Armand Van Heldens 1999 hit "You Don't Know Me". Only a minor top 40 hit on my chart at the time, this has already done better and gives Craig his third top 20 hit since his 2015 comeback.

Ruth Lorenzo, Cardi B and Arlissa all improve in the top 30, while in the top 40 MK makes a return and Big Boi gets a second solo hit at no.35 with "All Night", his last being "Mama Told Me", a no.38 in 2010, he also appeared on Janelle Monae's 2010 no.28 hit "Tightrope" as well as 4 top 10 hits for his band, Outkast, they peaked in 2001 when "The Whole World" made no.2.

Finally, the return of the Fratellis, they topped my chart back in 2007 with "Flathead" and are no.41 this week with "Stand Up Tragedy", the same position they made with their last hit, 2015's "Imposters (Little By Little)".

Sometimes a bit of patience pays off and this week after three weeks in the runners up position, pnau climb on top to get a second no.1 with "Go Bang", it follows 2012 chart topper "Good Morning To The Night". Major Lazer this week swap places after 6 weeks at the top. The weeks highest new entry is a major change of fortunes for Camila Cabello who could only make no.42 last year with "Havana", follow up "Never Be The Same" starts at no.3, and only trails another Major Lazer song, "Know No Better", which she featured on for a no.2 hit last year.

Anne-Marie scores her second top 5 hit as "Then" now moves up to no.5 and there's a fourth top 10 hit for Paloma Faith, "Til I'm Done" is new at no.7 following "Crybaby" which made no.2 last year. In all it's her 12th chart appearance. Rounding off four top 10 new entries, two acts replace their last hits in the top 10, The Wombats at no.8 with "Turn", pushing out "Lemon To A Knife Fight", this gives them a 6th top 10 hit, and Rudimental return at no.10 with "These Days", edging out "No Fear", to give them a 5th top 10 hit, as well as a 6th for Jess Glynne and 5th for Macklemore.

Rapper Wale gets his first top 20 hit as lead artist this week, though he has featured on top 20s for Mariah Carey and Miguel, "My Love" is new at no.16, outpeaking previous best, "World Tour" which made no.21 in 2009, this is his 9th appearance in total and brings Major Lazers hits up to 18, WizKid up to 4 and Dua Lipa is now up to 8.

Oliver Nelson made no.21 back in 2015 with "Found Your Love", now returns with a version of "99 Red Balloons" at no.17. Jaded return from 2016 no.33 hit "4000Hz", with "Pancake" new at no.22.

Daddy Yankee topped my chart back in 2005 with "Gasolina", in recent years he's been on top 10 hits for Inna, Alexandra Stan and Luis Fonsi. He now gets his biggest solo hit since "Pasarela" made no.17 in 2012, with "Dura" new at no.25.

Maroon 5 peaked in 2007 with "Nothing Lasts Forever" and 2011 with "Moves Like Jagger", both making no.2. Their latest album "Red Pill Blues" now gains its third hit, following "Dont Wanna Know" (no.30) and "What Lovers Do" (no.6.), The new one is "Wait" at no.35, albeit a remix by Chromeo who in turn gets his 8th appearance.

George Ezra made no.36 last year with "Dont Matter Now", the lead single from his forthcoming sophomore album, he matches it now with "Paradise", though all four of his other hits charted higher, including 3 top 5s and chart topper "Cassy O".

So glad to see Giorgio Moroder with his song, released last year. I don't know why it is so unpopular, even underrated. I dislike Pancake by Jaded, In The Morning is better for 2 reasons: the poor but catchy brass section in the drop and the absolutely crazy video. This is my opinion, of course. Hearts Ain't Gonna Lie in this version is a great hot shot of the week.
Bye my favourite season, see ya next year! The last summer Top 10.
