I would kinda choose most of the artist you've chosen... just with different songs... but without a doubt all of them are great artists! 8-)

I'm not a big fan of any of the songs from your last batch but "Assassin", "Smooth Criminal", and "Wait Till You See My Smile" are alright tracks.

#14 Madonna - Live to Tell (1986)
Image
Peak UK: #2
Peak US: #1
Peak GER: #12

Code: Select all
Madonna is truely one of the greatest artists of all times. Her 1986 smash Live to Tell is my favourite ballad by the Queen of Pop. Her performance of this song during the Confessions Tour is one of the most epic performances of all times by any artist. Growing up, I was very biased against Madonna. But people who follow my personal chart know that she is my second most played female artist since 2004.

#13 Whitney Houston - My Love is Your Love (1999)
Image
Peak UK: #2
Peak US: #4
Peak GER: #2

Code: Select all
Whitney was my first favourite artist of all times. The Bodyguard album was my first Whitney album. My first single of hers was My Love is your Love (it also is the only single i won by her). The song belongs to my favourite 10 songs of the 90's. The My Love Is Your Love album is epic and a true return of the artist who once was The Voice.

#12 The Killers - Read my Mind (2007)
Image
Peak UK: #15
Peak US: #62
Peak GER: --

Code: Select all
I discovered them in 2008 and I became a massive fan instantly. Read my Mind always gets me going. The Live Version (from the Royal Albert Hall) makes me go wild. Brandon Flowers (the lead singer) has become one of my favourite male artists, too. Sam's Town would be another song by The Killers which would make a full Top 100 chart.

#11 Mariah Carey - Close my Eyes (1997)
Image
Peak UK: --
Peak US: --
Peak GER: --

Code: Select all
Close My eyes once was my favourite song of all times. The fact that it dropped out of the top 10 shows that you don't only grow as an artist but also as a listener. Despite the drop, Close My Eyes hasn't lost any importance on my life. It still defines my muscial taste and reaches my heart and soul.

#10 Beatles - Let It Be (1970)
Image
Peak UK: #2
Peak US: #1
Peak GER: #2

Code: Select all
This song lets me know that life changes no matter what. It's the perfect song to reminisce about life. It has one of the greatest melodies of all times. It's their best song, in my opinion.

#9 Coldplay - Fix You (2005)
Image
Peak UK: #4
Peak US: #59
Peak GER: --

Code: Select all
Fix You is one of the strongest songs that have been released over the past decade. It was my most played song of the 00's. It made me a Coldplay fan. I obviously knew about them before 2005 but I didn't pay much attention. But they completely won me over.

#8 Prince - Purple Rain (1984)(
Image
Peak UK: #8
Peak US: #2
Peak GER: #5

Code: Select all
This is Prince's trademark song. One of the contestants on German Idol sang the song in 2007/8 so perfectly that it got a second revival on my chart too. Prince is one of the best song writers in music history and this song is one of the greatest.

#7 Whitney Houston - I will always love you (1992)
Image
Peak UK: #1
Peak US: #1
Peak GER: #1

Code: Select all
Whitney Houston has 3 entries on this countdown so far which can tell how much I love her. She was my first idol. I actually recorded this song from the radio to MC. I will never stop caring for her, I will always buy her music. There's only one Whitney Houston!

#6 Michael Jackson - Will you be There (1993)
Image
Peak UK: #8
Peak US: #7
Peak GER: #12

Code: Select all
When I first heard this song, I was in tears. It was the soundtrack to one of my favourite movies as a child, Free Willy. The melody is outstanding and the lyrics are so meaningful. This song shows the immense talent Michael Jackson had as a lyricist and songwriter.

Aww, "Fix You" was actually my pick to win. :( Regardless, it's an epic tune and I thank you for introducing me to it. "Purple Rain" and "I Will Always Love You" are both legendary tunes, even though I find the former to be about four minutes too long! "Will You Be There" is good but it ranks amongst my least fave MJ singles.

Will You Be There is okay
I Will Always Love You is overrated as hell, but it's still a great ballad from the 90s

Will You Be There is great, I was amazed by it when it charted in 1993 and remember I thought oh that's only at #13 (or so) in the US, why, should be #1 everywhere.

IWALY is Whitney's signature song. Its position is quite deserved ... as well as Prince's.... PR is probably "the" moment of his career.
However, WYBT is a nice song but I don't place it among Michael Jackson's best songs.
Great chart overall
