TONY'S ALBUM CHART 17th NOVEMBER 2017

1 NE Taylor Swift - Reputation
NOT ON STREAM SITES YET
Image
Skip tracks 1, 2 and 15 (helpfully located at the front and back of the album). I don't need her clunky urban stuff or boring earnest balladry (not in these instances). There are 6 outstanding pop nuggets on this CD - none more than Dress which expands on the seductiveness of Antonoff's co-write on her Fifty Shades song with Zayn. The others are the 2 songs in my top 5, So It Goes..., Delicate and King Of My Heart.

2 1 Jessie Ware - Glasshouse (4 weeks; peak #1)
3 2 Shiny Toy Guns - We Are Pilots (Version 1.0) / (Version 2.0) (5 weeks; peak #1)
4 3 Tangerine Dream - Quantum Gate (7 weeks; peak #1)
5 NE Tennis - We Can Die Happy (MA) SPOTIFY
6 NE Echosmith - Inside A Dream (MA) SPOTIFY
7 NE BC Unidos - Bicycle (MA) SPOTIFY
Features Charli, Carly Rae and Santigold.

8 NE Sleigh Bells - Kid Kruschev (MA) SPOTIFY
Good week for mini albums.

9 RE The Birthday Massacre - Under Your Spell (17 weeks; peak #1)
10 NE The Corrs - Jupiter Calling SPOTIFY

3 NE The Van T's - Bittersweet
Amazing song
8 NE Scanner - Spirit Cluster
Bringing some quality
14 NE Frank Turner - There She Is
I actually didn't like it immediately, but got it after three spins, it's not bad at all.

1 NE Taylor Swift - Reputation
Terrible album of a wannabe popstar with zero impact of her own. Even Carly Rae Jepsen did the bubblegum pop thing better.

Okay.
My 100% negative comment only for one single entry (because it's worth it, sorry  ) out of 4 mentioned, that's like 25% negative at best :D
What concerns other songs, I have no bad words to say about them, I am either neutral or really positive,

21 NE Rae Morris - Atletico
Another fine song from her.

7 NE Tokio Myers - Our Generation
Is it worth listening? Did you like it or not?
I suppose 7th means this comes across as an ''alright'' type of an album.
11 NE Paloma Faith - The Architect
That's quite low.

Tokio has "Got Talent" but it's not outstanding. I'm still hanging on to Paloma and there's a touch of her early spark still there but not on the singles.

8 NE Charlotte Gainsbourg - Lying With You
The music video is quite exciting, this song is yet to click with me
1 NE Bjork - Utopia
I don't want to sound negative here but I feel like something is missing here and I can't exactly say what it is.
I feel like Bjork is now chasing her own creative shadow or maybe it's just me who is deluded.
14 NE Bright Light Bright Light - Cinematography III: Merry Christmas, You Filthy Animal (MA)
Was a bit cautious about this...Now I am not sure if I am going to listen to this.

6 NE Timothy Heller - Sleep

Not quite feeling this so far. Maybe I need some visuals to contextualize it.

18 NE G-Eazy and Halsey - Him and I

Halsey is better on her own, those collabs are wasting her time. I wouldn't mind if the collabs were lucrative, but they don't even sell that much.

20 NE U2 - Songs Of Experience

Ouch!

One of those collabs is her biggest song by far. In terms of UK her three most successful songs are all collabs. including this one. Him and I is at 49 in UK chart and is only waiting for airplay to boost it.
I don't rate her much solo at all, i've charted her albums because i recognise the talent but nothing like as much as she's fawned over and i just blank out his rap on this - he's very easy to ignore.

I wish I could ignore him, but then it's turns more into a big Halsey sample rather than a song :)

He has no presence, he's like the UK rapper Devlin - totally outclassed by the vocalists that sing on his tracks. :D
