week 26/2014 – 26 june 2014 why are we Worlds Apart?

    Singles Top40
Slowly but steady rose this weeks number one to the top. Climbing week by week, Seven Lions and Kerli’s song “Worlds Apart” needed four weeks to peak at number one on the Singles Top40. So the US DJ and producer got his first chart hit and his first number one together, while it’s already the seventh number one ranking for the estonian singer, including both collaborations with tyDi. After all it’s also already her second top hit this year, following “Stardust” which topped the charts in the second week of the year.

Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” switches places with “Worlds Apart” as it’s down 1-2 after the big debut last time. Rounding up the Top3 is the highest of three new entries. After the huge hit that was and probably still is “I See Fire”, Ed Sheeran released his second album called “x” last friday. The lead single is called “Sing” and makes an entry at #3.

In its fifth week inside the Top5, Within Temptation’s “And We Run” is up 5-4. Lana Del Rey falls out of the Top3 as “West Coast” slips 3-5. Lindsey Stirling’s chart topper “Shatter Me” remains at #6 like the last time while the third entry for Lana Del Rey called “Once Upon A Dream” is down 4-7 in its third week. Celebrating a new Top10 hit is the band Linkin Park. Their current single “Until It’s Gone” is rising 15-8 after the debut last week, becoming just their second Top10 entry after “Castle Of Glass” debuted and peaked at #5 in early 2013. With this climb it also outpeaks their previously second highest peaking song “Burn It Down” (#13 in mid-2012).

Colbie Caillat gets a second week inside the Top10 with “Try” (7-9). Closing the best ten is Lindsey Stirling’s album opener “Beyond The Veil” (9-10). The song is getting certified with a Gold certification this week, so all of her three chart hits are certified now.

Despite being out of the Top10 for three weeks now, Ariana Grande’s “Problem” is still doing very good, up 12-11 this time. The song is on the charts for nine weeks. Also charting for the same amount of weeks is the song one place below, but that one never reached the Top10 so far. It’s “Stupid Little Things” by Anastacia. The song has a pretty weird chartrun so far and rises 22-12 this time, topping its previous peak at #15 of two weeks ago. Iggy Azalea’s worldwide hit “Fancy” (10-13) and Nicole Scherzinger’s “Your Love” (8-15) are out of the Top10. Between them there’s Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” (14-14). It’s already the seventh week between the places #11 and #14, so it’s showing some great stability. Collecting a third consecutive Top20 is Lorde. After “Royals” and “Team” (both peaked at #9), the third single of her debut album “Pure Heroine” is called “Tennis Court” and rises 31-18 in its third week on the charts.

Lady GaGa’s “G.U.Y.” leaves the Top20 for the first time (19-21), same goes to ESC star Sanna Nielsen and her ballad “Undo” (17-22). Both are already certified with Gold, so they did pretty good and the fall into the second half of the charts isn’t too bad. “Rainmaker” by Emmelie De Forest falls out of the Top20 too (18-25), but not for the first time as it left the charts completely a few weeks ago.

As mentioned there are a total of three new entries this week. Apart from Ed, the two other new entries debuts outside the Top20. Demi Lovato gets another entry from her fourth album “Demi” as the fourth single “Really Don’t Care” featuring Cher Lloyd enters the charts at #24. The last new entry is by the UK newcomer Sam Smith who arrives with his latest release “Stay With Me” at #28. Just a few weeks ago he debuted at the same position with “Money On My Mind”. A fourth more or less new song arrives too, as canadian singer Kiesza re-enters the charts at #29 with “Hideaway” – the highest position for the song so far.

There’s one last thing to mention for this week. US violinist Lindsey Stirling celebrates a huge milestone with her song “Crystallize”. The biggest hit of last year is charting for its 70th week. It’s the first song ever to be on the charts for so long, surpassing the 69 weeks of Ashley Tisdale’s “Suddenly”. The third longest charting song is Loreen’s “Euphoria” with 66 weeks. But going by points, Lindsey is still far behind Ashley, because back when Ashley slayed the charts with “Suddenly”, there was only a Top10, so basically if there would have been a Top40 like now, Ashley’s “Suddenly” would still be the longest-charting single.

The biggest climber is the already mentioned “Tennis Court” by Lorde while Jennifer Lopez’ “I Luh Ya Papi” is the biggest loser (29-40).

    Album Top20
Despite a big new release, Lana Del Rey stays unbothered and defends her top spot on the Album Top20. This means a second consecutive week on the throne for “Ultraviolence”, surpassing the one week of “Paradise” EP, but still ten to go to match the 12 weeks of her last full-length album “Born To Die”.

The big new release is the second album by british singer/songwriter Ed Sheeran. He named his album “x” and debuts at number two. This is a lot better than the peak of his debut album “+”, which peaked at #9 for three non-consecutive weeks. But to be fair, “+” had no charting hit at all and debuted just earlier this year due to his success of “I See Fire”, that was two years after its original release. Rounding up the Top3 is Linkin Park. The band is down by only one place with their album “The Hunting Party”, getting a second week inside the Top3.

Anette Olzon’s “Shine” slips 3-4. Colbie Caillat debuted with a new EP just a week ago, now the “Gypsy Heart (Side A)” EP is up 8-5 and gets a new peak. “Hydra” by Within Temptation is down 4-6. Another symphonic metal record is “Beauty & The Beat” by Tarja and Mike Terrana. After it dropped since its debut, it finally remains stable this time (7-7). Lindsey Stirling’s “Shatter Me” goes up 9-8 after the decrease last week. While Seven Lions closes the Top10 with his “Worlds Apart” EP again, there’s one last album in the Top10 which is pretty surprising. Being very successful due to their concert earlier this year, the second studio album by Within Temptation called “Mother Earth” showed amazing longevity through the year, and now even rises back to the Top10 again (18-9). It’s already on the charts for 17 weeks, not bad for a ten-years-old album!

Ed Sheeran’s already mentioned debut album “+” is still charting in this week too, rising 14-11. Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz” drops a lot lately, this time she’s down 5-12. If she won’t release a new single soon, the album could leave the charts in a few weeks. But it’s already charting for 38 weeks, being her longest-charting album so far. A much more drastic drop goes to Jennifer Lopez and her newest album “A.K.A.”. While it just debuted last week, it’s already down 6-14 this time, leaving the Top10 after only one week.

There are two big celebrations on this weeks album charts. The first one goes to Kerli and her last record “Utopia”. The album spends its 60th week on the charts this week by climbing 16-13. It will be hard for her next album to top these or the 50 weeks of her debut album “Love Is Dead”. The second celebrations goes to Lindsey Stirling. Not only her single “Crystallize”, but also her self-titled debut album spends its 70th week on the charts (19-20).

    Airplay Top10
While Lana Del Rey owned the Airplay Top10 last week, the singer has to give the crown to someone else. But after all she still has nine songs on the charts, so she’s basically still owning them.

Like on the Singles Top40, “Worlds Apart” by Seven Lions and Kerli tops the charts. It previously charted on the airplay charts for two weeks. With 48 plays during the last week, it’s one of the least played number one this year, but the song has a duration of over six minutes, while a normal song often goes three to four minutes, so 48 plays isn’t that bad at all.

“Ultraviolence”, the title track of Lana’s album, is down 1-2 with 44 plays. Closing the Top3 is album track and potential single “Money Power Glory”, up from number four last week.

The first single “West Coast” remains pretty stable (3-4) and is already charting for four weeks. It’s followed by the promo singles “Shades Of Cool” (5-5) and “Brooklyn Baby” (2-6). Three more album tracks from last week are charting this week too: “**** My Way To The Top” (8-7) and “Sad Girl” (10-8) both reach a new peak while “Pretty When You Cry” is down 6-9. The last song on the charts is album closer “Florida Kilos”. The song missed the charts last week due to only a very few plays, but it enters them this time.

Plays of the Top10 went down by 47 to 284 (-14.2%) compared to last week.

Yes it really was! Enjoyed the show a lot :)
You like Lana's album?

Great record. What are your favorite Songs (so far)? :)
It should, i'm currently in love with it :)

The title track is the best, followed by "Money Power Glory".
"Brooklyn Baby", "West Coast", "Florida Kilos" and "**** My Way Up To The Top" are brilliant too.
What are your faves?
My favorite tracks are "Old Money", "Sad Girl", "Ultraviolence", "F'uc'ked my way up to the top" and "Is This Happiness". Probably one of my very favorite Albums of the year so far.

Good to see it blocking Ed Sheeran's "x" btw.

Woohoo for Lana three times debuting at the top spot, such an achievement.
Good to see The Common Linnets album still charting as well. .
Yes it really was! Enjoyed the show a lot :)
You like Lana's album?
Well, it will leave the charts this week, but i need to say it was a pleasant album after all.

Good! Yeah, it's amazing! One of the best releases this year so far.
Still charted for quite a long time imo! :P

Emmelie De Forest – Rainmaker | Indila – Dernière danse
Katy Perry feat. Juicy J – Dark Horse | Lady GaGa – G.U.Y. | Lady GaGa – Venus
| Miley Cyrus – Adore You | Miley Cyrus – Wrecking Ball
I like these. Smart of you to not give away the exact placement haha! :P
yay, great to know you like Lana's release that much!
Yes, it was really better than expected. Maybe it will come back with a future single release.

...

haha, well, otherwise it would be already clear which songs won't top it :P
Glad you like some of these :)

Wow, i like them all too.... but to be honest, i haven't "Is This Happiness" on my copy :-? On which one is it?

Haha, so you don't like "x" or Ed in general that much? :)
I need to say that Ed's release is actually very good, but Lana was still stronger...

thanks so much for all comments... and sorry for the delay!

week 27/2014 – 3 july 2014 Ultraviolet or Ultraviolence?

Image
    Singles Top40
After one week on top for Seven Lions and Kerli, Lana Del Rey grabs the crown back as “Ultraviolence” moves 2-1 to get a second week at number one. It’s just the fifth song to spend more than only one week on top of the Singles Top40 this year, but it’s probably also already the last one as there’ll be a huge competitor next week with a new song called “Break Free”…

Ed Sheeran gets a new peak with his new single “Sing” (up 3-2 after the debut a week ago). While it’s just his second charts appearance, it’s now also his second song with a #2-peak. Rounding up the Top3 is the first new song on the charts, or better said a re-entry. After topping the charts for one week earlier this year, “Beautiful Times” by Owl City and Lindsey Stirling is back at number three due to the new EP by Owl City called “Ultraviolet”.

“And We Run” by Within Temptation and Xzibit remains stable at #4 in their sixth week. Seven Lions and Kerli’s collaboration “Worlds Apart” drops 1-5. Maybe the upcoming music video can push the song back to a better place again. The first completely new song enters the charts at #6. After the number one debut single “Dernière danse” and the #3-peaking follow-up “Tourner dans le vide”, french pop singer Indila released “S.O.S” as the third single from her debut album “Mini World” and immediately gets a third Top10-hit.

Lindsey Stirling’s “Beyond The Veil” is up 10-7, being above of her other charting single “Shatter Me”, which falls 6-10 this week, for the first time. Both debuted in the same week. The last two songs inside the Top10 are Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast” (5-8) and Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” which is back into the Top10 for a second week by rising 14-9 this time.

Ariana Grande still shows pretty impressive longevity with her current single “Problem”. It’s the lead-single of her just announced second album “My Everything”, which will be released in less than two months. The second single is out now and will make its impact on next weeks charts. UK newcomer Sam Smith gets his first Top20 entry as the beautiful ballad “Stay With Me” improves 28-12, outpeaking his previous highest charting hit “La La La” by Naughty Boy last year. Linkin Park’s “Until It’s Gone” (8-14), Lana Del Rey’s “Once Upon A Dream” (7-15) and Colbie Caillat’s “Try” (9-18) all fall out of the Top10 from last week. Hitting the upper half of the charts for the first time are the songs “Really Don’t Care” by Demi Lovato (24-19) and “Hideaway” by Kiesza (29-20). While Demi already scored several Top20-entries, it’s the first appearance for canadian singer Kiesza.

Just outside the Top20 is something incredible. Something that one never expected happened this week: Miley Cyrus drops out of the Top20 with “Wrecking Ball”!! After astonishing 44 weeks, the huge power-pop-ballad falls 16-22. Definitely some kind of an end of an era. Four more songs drop out of the Top20 this time; Shakira’s “Dare (La La La)” (20-23), Nicole Scherzinger’s “Your Love” (15-24), Lorde’s “Tennis Court” (18-26) and Sia’s “Chandelier” (19-32). While the last one decreased a lot this week it’s likely to see at least a little increase next week again due to her album being out now.

There’s one new- and one re-entry more this week. The re-entry is “A Sky Full Of Stars” by Coldplay, coming back at #28. It’s now above their other charting single “Magic” which may leave the charts next week (37-40). The second and last new entry of the week is by UK darling and pop princess Cheryl Cole. The lead single of her upcoming fourth solo album is called “Crazy Stupid Love”, features rapper Tinie Tempah and makes a debut at #37. It’s just her second entry ever, her first one was “Fight For This Love” which topped the charts in early 2010.

Finally, there are a few celebrations this week, but none of them is really big. Rita Ora, Ariana Grande, Anastacia’s “Stupid Little Things” (12-13), Sanna Nielsen’s “Undo” (22-25) and John Legend’s “All Of Me” (31-31) are all charting for their tenth week while Within Temptation spend their 20th week on the charts with “Whole World Is Watching” (27-30).

Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me” is the biggest climber this week while Sia’s “Chandelier” is the biggest loser.

    Album Top20
Well, another big debut but another week when Lana blocks that debut with her third album “Ultraviolence”. It’s already the third week on top, but looking at the new releases from this week it’s probably also the last for now – but we’ll find out in a week. As for now, Lana can celebrate another week on top of the Album Top20 and already owns the third-longest number one album together with Anette Olzon.

The big debut is by US electronica artist Owl City who released a new EP called “Ultraviolet”. Owl City decided to not release a whole album as usual but he’s releasing a few EPs instead, and “Ultraviolet” is the first of these. It already spawned the number one hit “Beautiful Times” and debuts at number two this week, becoming already his fifth appearance on the album charts and second highest one, as only “The Midsummer Station” peaked higher (#1 for three weeks two years ago). Ed Sheeran slips 2-3 with his “x”.

Swedish singer Anette Olzon is still doing pretty good with her first solo release “Shine” (4-4). She’s followed by US violinist Lindsey Stirling who is up 8-5 with her second album “Shatter Me”. Her self-titled debut falls out of the charts this week after incredible 70 weeks. In their third week on the charts, Linkin Park fall out of the Top3 with “The Hunting Party” (3-6). Colbie Caillat slips 5-7 with her “Gypsy Heart (Side A) EP”, Within Temptation are down 6-9 with “Hydra” and Tarja & Mike Terrana close the Top10 with their release “Beauty & The Beat” (7-10). There’s one last album inside the Top10, and that’s a little surprise. In its 61st week on the charts, Kerli’s “Utopia” is back in the upper half as she’s rising 13-8.

Seven Lions celebrates his tenth week on the charts with his EP “Worlds Apart” but slips out of the Top10 (10-11). Also out of the best ten is Within Temptation’s “Mother Earth” (8-13).

While there’s only one new entry on the charts, there are also two re-entries a bit lower. French newcomer Indila is back with her debut album called “Mini World” (#16). She topped the charts for two weeks earlier this year. The other record is Ariana Grande’s “Yours Truly” which is back at #20. She just announced the title of her upcoming second album: “My Everything”.

    Airplay Top10
While last weeks chart leader “Worlds Apart” by Seven Lions and Kerli not only drops on the Singles Top40 but also falls completely out of the Airplay Top10, the biggest competition for charts empress Lana Del Rey this week is Owl City.

But as for this week, Lana Del Rey goes back to the top with “Ultraviolence” which got 38 plays last week. Only two less got “Beautiful Times” by Owl City and Lindsey Stirling. The single already charted for one week at number four in its release week and now gets a new peak due to the “Ultraviolet EP”-release. Closing the Top3 is Lana’s haunting “Brooklyn Baby” which is up 6-3.

Lana basically still owns the airplay charts with lots of other entries: “Shades Of Cool” is up 5-4, single “West Coast” slips 4-5, “Money Power Glory” is down 3-6, album closer “Florida Kilos” rises 10-7 and “**** My Way To The Top” decreases 7-10. Album tracks “Sad Girl” and “Pretty When You Cry” leave the charts and make some space for two other Owl City songs. While the EP-ballad “This Isn’t The End” only got 16 plays, the other two tracks “Wolf Bite” (#8) and “Up All Night” (#9) got a few plays more and make it to the charts.

Also, it may be interesting to know that Lindsey Stirling’s “Beyond The Veil” (20 plays) and “Take Flight” (19 plays), Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” (15 plays) and Ariana Grande’s “Problem” (14 plays) just missed the charts this week.

Plays of the Top10 went up by 8 to 292 (+2.8%) compared to last week.

Wow, i like them all too.... but to be honest, i haven't "Is This Happiness" on my copy :-? On which one is it?

Haha, so you don't like "x" or Ed in general that much? :)
I need to say that Ed's release is actually very good, but Lana was still stronger...
I don't have it on my copy either but it's an iTunes Bonus Track in Germany. I looked for it on every Special Edition they had in the store but it was nowhere included. :( And so I bought it on iTunes. :)

I haven't listened to the Album yet but I'm not into him that much. I like "The A Team", "I See Fire" and "Drunk". Haven't really bothered with the rest but I will give "x" a try for sure! :)

This week I'm glad to see "A Sky Full Of Stars" re-entering and "Ultraviolence" topping both, Singles and Albums Charts! :)

Cool to see that Cheryl Cole get a spot in here. Personally, I think that this song is utterly horrendous.. The only song she's ever released I totally dislike.

That said, WT is still part of your Top5! Continue being such a loyal fan! "And We Run" is still one of the best releases of this year. Cannot believe that it didn't get any success :(

I finally listened to it but unfortunately i don't like it as much as i like most other UV tracks. Well, maybe it can grow on me! :)

Ah okay. Well, to be honest i never bothered that much about him until i saw the 'Hobbit' movie and fell in love with "I See Fire". Since then i'm a fan... maybe one day he will release something that makes you a fan too  8-)

glad you like these :)

I hope it can reach top 10 here! And I can't wait to see BF smashing next week. :)
Not sure about Top10, but it will rise for sure :)

And for BF... maybe you'll find out later today or tomorrow

Mainshow wrote:Cool to see that Cheryl Cole get a spot in here. Personally, I think that this song is utterly horrendous.. The only song she's ever released I totally dislike.

That said, WT is still part of your Top5! Continue being such a loyal fan! "And We Run" is still one of the best releases of this year. Cannot believe that it didn't get any success :(
Actually i never cared about her, but after the first listen that song really sounded horrible, but i don't think it's that horrible anymore.

Yes, "And We Run" still sounds fantastic and i completely agree with you; shame it didn't charted in a single country  I really thought this could be their most successful single since "Faster" (and that wouldn't be too hard to reach tbh...)

week 28/2014 – 10 july 2014 time to Break Free

Image
    Singles Top40
It’s time to break free for Ariana. Break free from her nickelodeon image, break free from her usual sound. After lots of great R&B tracks, the singer just released a sexy dance single called “Break Free”. The song becomes her third chart topper after her debut hit “The Way” and “Problem”, which was released earlier this year. It’s also already her ninth chart appearance, and all of them reached the Top10, with christmas single “Santa Baby” being the lowest-peaking one (#7). Lana Del Rey is again down to number two with “Ultraviolence” (1-2) while Ed Sheeran also loses one spot with “Sing” (2-3).

The already mentioned “Problem” by Ariana Grande served as the first single of her upcoming album “My Everything” and due to the newest smash, “Problem” also benefits and pushes forwards this week, back into the Top10 (11-4). It’s now tied with “The Way” as her song with the most weeks inside the Top10 (seven). Within Temptation’s “And We Run” continues with pretty impressive stability but it slips 4-5 in its seventh week inside the Top5. It’s also getting certified with Gold. One place down at #6 is already the second new entry. Swedish DJ Avicii scored several hits since last year with his album “True”, and now he released “Lay Me Down” as the fifth single and immediately gets his fourth Top10 appearance. The song features vocals from Adam Lambert, who scored hits by himself, including the number one hit “Never Close Our Eyes” from 2012.

UK newcomer Sam Smith got his first Top20 notation last week and now also his first Top10 notation as “Stay With Me” improves 12-7. The last three songs inside the Top10 all have Lindsey Stirling in it: Lindsey Stirling’s “Beyond The Veil” is down 7-8, Owl City’s “Beautiful Times” featuring Lindsey falls 3-9 and her own “Shatter Me” remains at #10.

Indila falls out of the Top10 with her third chart hit “S.O.S” (6-11) after only one week. There are three more songs that falls out of the best ten: “Worlds Apart” by Seven Lions and Kerli (5-12) and Lana Del Rey’s “West Coast” (8-13) are both down from the Top10 after five weeks while the last one is Rita Ora’s “I Will Never Let You Down” (9-15). Demi Lovato and Kiesza just got a new peak with their songs last time, but they climb again this week. While Demi’s “Really Don’t Care” is up 19-14, canadian newcomer Kiesza moves 20-19 with “Hideaway”. There are also enough reasons to be happy for swedish singer Anette Olzon. Her current single “Lies” is back up to the Top20 (21-16) and it’s also getting certified with Platinum, being her first solo entry to do so.

After only three weeks, Linkin Park’s “Until It’s Gone” already falls out of the Top20 for the first time (14-21), same like “Try” by Colbie Caillat (18-25). Iggy Azalea had some more weeks with “Fancy”, but also leaves that territory this week (16-22). “Fancy” is charting for its tenth week. Another celebration goes to Katy Perry whose “Dark Horse” is charting for its 30th week now (down 29-34).

There are two more new- and two more re-entries. The re-entries are both by finnish singer Tarja who just released “Left In The Dark”. It’s not a new studio album but more like another version for last years “Colours In The Dark”. The album contains the brilliant accoustic version of the single “500 Letters” and finally a studio version of “Into The Sun”, the single of her live album “Act I” from 2012. So it’s not that surprising to see both of them back on the charts at #24 (“Letters”) and #37 (“Sun”). Time to take a short look at the new entries. X-Factor contestant Ella Henderson released her debut single called “Ghost” which immediately became her first UK number one hit, and it’s also on course to become a worldwide hit too. The singer debuts at #28. A bit lower debuts a singer who got a bit more experience in the music business: Christina Perri. After the #2-peaking “Human”, “Burning Gold” serves as the second single of her second album “Head Or Heart” and starts at #32.

The biggest climber this week is Ariana Grande’s “Problem” while Lorde’s “Tennis Court” is the biggest loser by falling 26-39.

    Album Top20
Tarja is back! Well, not really, actually. Just five weeks after debuting on top of the Album Top20 with “Beauty & The Beat”, it’s “Left In The Dark” who makes the same this time. It’s already Tarja’s fifth number one on the album charts in less than four years, including the studio albums “What Lies Beneath” (2010; one week) and “Colours In The Dark” (2013; three weeks) plus the live album “Act I” (2012; one week). All of them debuted on top. But that’s not even all of her entries as her first studio album “My Winter Storm” also made an appearance, but it peaked at #5. That’s not even that bad considering the fact that it was released over two years before the album charts began.

Since “Left In The Dark” isn’t a new studio album and only contains other versions from the “Colours In The Dark”-tracks and a studio version of “Into The Sun”, its lifetime on the charts shouldn’t be too big. But she can be really happy as she pulled charts empress Lana Del Rey away, whose “Ultraviolence” slips 1-2 after three weeks on top. Owl City wasn’t strong enough and not even Ed to do this in their opening weeks. Closing the Top3 is Anette Olzon’s “Shine”, which is up 4-3. It’s already the seventh consecutive week between these two positions.

Ed Sheeran’s “x” slips 3-4 and Owl City’s “Ultraviolet EP” is already down 2-5. A second new entry misses the Top5 by just one place: Sia! The australian talent debuts at #6 with her newest album “1000 Forms Of Fear”. Despite a pretty successful first single (“Chandelier”, which peaked at #3, down 32-35 this week) the album is far behind the debut of her last album “We Are Born”, which debuted at number one. “Shatter Me” by Lindsey Stirling decreases 5-7, Kerli’s “Utopia” slips 8-9 and Linkin Park’s “The Hunting Party” falls 6-10. The last album in the Top10 is Ariana Grande’s debut album “Yours Truly”. Despite being released nearly a year ago, the album got another big push due to the new single “Break Free” and increases 20-8. It’s getting certified with Platinum too.

Tarja’s other release on the charts is “Beauty & The Beat”, a collaboration with Mike Terrana. After five weeks, the album falls out of the Top10 (10-11). Dutch symphonic metal band Within Temptation also leaves the Top10 with their album “Hydra”, which is down 9-13, but not for the first time. But it’s the lowest position for the album in its 23-weeks-run so far.

Despite a lower-than-expected peak and no big support, Lily Allen’s third album “Sheezus” showed some nice stability and it was worth it: It becomes her second certified album. Colbie Caillat falls a lot with her “Gypsy Heart (Side A) EP” (7-16), but she just released the video for the single “Try”, maybe that will help her. The last thing to mention is the 40th-week-celebration for Miley Cyrus’ album “Bangerz”, despite falling 15-19.

    Airplay Top10
Ariana Grande shows how it’s done! Her new single “Break Free” not only got a big debut on the Singles Top40, it also got a big debut on the Airplay Top10 – and that one is really big! The song got a huge 225 plays over the last week, surpassing Emmelie De Forest’s “Rainmaker” as this years most-played song in a week with 168 plays. It’s even the second most-played song in a week ever since the Airplay Top10 started in the first week of 2013, only Lady GaGa’s “Applause” got more plays in its second week on the charts (277). It will be interesting to see if it’s going down a lot like some other big debuting songs or if it can get another big week next time. But with only one week on the charts, “Break Free” is already #8 on the YTD-Airplay-Charts.

The previous single, “Problem”, also debuted on top of the airplay charts earlier this year (with 124 plays back then, also already a big number), but it completely fell out of the charts the week afterwards. It’s coming back now at number two and with 34 plays. Lana Del Rey’s “Ultraviolence” falls 1-3 with 23 plays.

Just missing the Top3 is a surprising re-entry. Especially for me personally. While I really love the song, I never thought I played it enough over the last week to see a re-entry on the airplay charts, but in the end, Anette Olzon got 21 plays for her stunning ballad “Moving Away” and is back at #4. The song already charted for six weeks before, but never went higher than #5.

While all three songs by Owl City from last week are already out of the charts, Lana’s owning all the other positons this week. “Money Power Glory” is her second most played song this time, moving 6-5. “Brooklyn Baby” is down 3-6, “West Coast” falls 5-7, “Shades Of Cool” decreases 4-8, “Florida Kilos” moves 7-9 and “**** My Way To The Top” remains at #10.

Plays of the Top10 went up by 121 to 413 (+41.4%) compared to last week.

Hopefully, I will get the same opinion like you have on the latest single by Cheryl Cole. Perhaps the album will make me stop hatin' on it. ;)

Cool debut for Avicii ;) "Lay Me Down" is one of the best tracks on the album!

What a shame that "Marathon" has to leave this week :( Such a poptastic track!

Great you like these two new entries and i'm also happy to see you like some albums too, especially those from Within Temptation :)

Well, i'm not the biggest Cheryl fan so i guess that helps somehow to 'like' "Crazy Stupid Love"...

Glad you like Avicii's latest single. There are surely some other track i prefer from "True" but i'd say it's really one of the better songs :)

Personally it's nowhere as good as "Atemlos...", plus the album has better tracks to offer :)
