Great new entries from FAUL, Foxes and Iggy, though it's my least favorite Iggy single so far. Nice to see Gaga having a great chart run too

Thanks for your predictions, some interesting choices :)

"Bangerz" - That's my favourite my miles. I seriously think that Miley got everything right with this record. It's a fresh, contemporary sound and she bashed everyone of her competitors with the ground-breaking "Wrecking Ball". Also, Godney is part of the record and that fact shouldn't be denied (although that song is kinda dull).
Surprised to see Emmelie being part of the nominees. When it comes to the others, I'm not really surprised. However, I think that I can speak for Era and myself that we are disappointed that you didn't nominate "Stars Dance" by our lovely and cute Selegend!
Well, "Only Teardrops" was a big part for me in 2013. I listened to it a lot, and it stayed on the charts for a very long time. "Stars Dance" also was part of 2013 for me, but its impact was lesser than the impact of the other five albums and that's why i didn't nominate it.

Mainshow wrote:Best Pop Collaboration
This one is quite difficult to guess. I think it will be "Stay".
I also think that one is actually quite difficult. When i put the categories and nominees together, i looked at this one here and thought that i absolutely love all five entries!

Mainshow wrote:Best Pop Vocal Album
Britney & Selena & Perry are nominated on this one? You're not nominatin' the vocal SKILLS on these albums, are you?
Mmh... Perhaps Selena has a chance in winnin' this one :D I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Well, to get a nomination it must be a pop record with vocals, so no, i don't nominate the vocal skills. But, to be honest, i think the vocals on BJ and "Prism" are actually really good. And in the end i look at the vocals skills too if i'll pick the winner

Mainshow wrote:Best Electronic/Dance Album
Inna released a new album last year Oo - That's somethin' I didn't know Oo - I'll give Empire Of The Sun a moment to shin... I think that they're goin' to make it.
Hahaha, yes she did  But i guess you weren't the only one who didn't know about that cause it was a chart disaster

Best Rock/Country/Alternative Recording
So many amazing tunes in this category! - Hope it will be "Paradise". I mean, it's nice that you nominated "Victim Of Ritual" (it's an absolutely marvellous track) but you cannot deny the perfect combination of Sharon AND Tarja in one single song...

...

Thanks, some really interesting choices!
And also thanks for your votes once again :)

Glad you like all these new entries :) Which singles by Iggy do you prefer? "Fancy" was actually the first track i checked out in full from her.

Also, don't forget to vote for the MAMMYs and guess some winners if you'd like to :)

I checked out "Love Runs Out" and...I'm impressed! :o I thought it would be okay, but turns out it's actually pretty great! Someone on Last.fm tagged it "Rumour Has It" and I definitely hear the similarities to Adele's song, but I think OneRepublic's is even stronger. *Downloads*

I decided to check out "Crystallize" as well since it's been charting here for forever and I was blown away! :o I normally don't like instrumental-only songs as they rarely maintain my interest from start to finish, but "Crystallize" is mesmerizing! I have to download that one too!

Great to see "Lies" and "G.U.Y." still high. I'm not 100% sold on "Birthday" and, frankly, I'm still miffed that "Walking on Air" wasn't selected as the fourth single instead. That one just screams summer smash. Nice to see "Let Go for Tonight" enter. That one's a catchy jam, and "Wrecking Ball" just won't die here. I love it. 8-)

Oh you didn't check out "Love Runs Out" before? :o Glad you did now, as you said it's a really great song and with time i'm sure it can be one of their best songs ever.
Wow, so glad to hear you checked out "Crystallize" too! It's kinda special and i think there are many people who can't get into music without vocals, but this is a really stunning song so i'm really glad you were blown away when you heard it!

I hope "Walking On Air" becomes a single too, because it's my favorite song of "Prism" after "Dark Horse" of course. But as for last week, i really enjoyed "Birthday", but the video destroyed the song a bit for me so it will drop a lot this week
Didn't know you like "Let Go For Tonight", but great to hear that now! It's currently growing on me and i'll buy her debut album which will be released next week - can't wait!

thanks so much for all comments

week 18/2014 – 1 mai 2014 Hello Kitty, Problem? Undo it!
    Singles Top40
This week was really busy, especially in the Top5 as there are four new entries. The highest one is the new single by Ariana Grande called “Problem”. After having an impressive seven Top10 hits in 2013 alone, “Problem” is the first single of her upcoming second album. It’s her second number one overall after “The Way” debuted there as her first notation ever around a year ago.

Behind Ariana there’s canadian pop-singer Avril Lavigne and her latest release “Hello Kitty”. The song immediately debuts at #2, being now the highest-peaking song of her current self-titled album after “Here’s To Never Growing Up” (#10), “Rock N Roll” (#9) and “Let Me Go” (#3). It’s also her highest peaking single since “What The Hell” debuted and peaked at #2 over three years ago. Also, with this debut, “Avril Lavigne” becomes her first album to spawn more than three Top10 hits. OneRepublic are down 1-3 with “Love Runs Out”.

After Germany (Elaiza with “Is It Right”, #1 and out of the charts this week) and Austria (Conchita Wurst with “Rise Like A Phoenix, #8 and up 21-19 this week), there are two new ESC entries on the charts this week. The contest will be next week so expect more entries to debut soon. So the third entry from this years contest and also the third entry this week is swedish represent Sanna Nielsen with “Undo”, arriving at #4. The fourth new entry is indian superstar Priyanka Chopra with her latest single “I Can’t Make You Love Me”, coming in at #5. Despite having released several other songs, this marks her first appearance on my charts.

Anette Olzon’s “Lies” is down four places (2-6), same like Lady GaGa’s “G.U.Y.” (3-7). Katy Perry celebrates the 20th week on the charts with her big hit “Dark Horse” (6-8). It spent 14 weeks of these 20 in the Top10. Birdy is back in the Top10 with “Words As Weapons” (11-9) while Owl City and Lindsey Stirling close the Top10 with “Beautiful Times” (7-10).

As shortly mentioned, there’s another new entry coming from the ESC. It’s the romanian entry “Miracle”, sung by Paula Seling and Ovi. The song is new at #11, so it just missed the Top10. The duo already reached the Top3 on the charts with “Playing With Fire”, their entry for Romania on the ESC 2010.

In its fifth week on the charts, the chart-topping “Candy Jar” by MarieMarie is out of the Top10 for the first time (8-12). Also out of the Top10 are “How Long Will I Love You” by Ellie Goulding (10-13) and “I See Fire” by Ed Sheeran (9-14), but both left them already before. Lindsey Stirling’s “Crystallize” is back in the Top20 (24-16) due to the anticipation of her second album “Shatter Me”, which should have its impact next week. UK singer Foxes reaches the Top20 for the first time with “Let Go For Tonight” (23-18) while Conchita Wurst is back in the Top20 too with “Rise Like A Phoenix” (21-19).

There are a few huge drops this week. After a revival due to the album release, “A Lifetime Of Adventure” by Tuomas Holopainen plummets 5-21 this week. This seems to be a very big drop, but it can be even worse. After debuting last week, Katy Perry’s latest single “Birthday” makes a disastrous drop this week (4-24). Some other drops are Shakira’s “Empire” (20-32) and Indila’s “Tourner dans le vide” (22-33).

Finally, the sixth and last new entry comes in at #34: Rita Ora debuts with her new single “I Will Never Let You Down”. The last thing to mention is a song that falls out of the charts this week. After an astonishing 53 weeks on the charts, Bruno Mars’ “Locked Out Of Heaven” is leaving them this week.

The biggest climber is Lindsey Stirling’s “Crystallize” while the biggest loser is the already mentioned “Birthday” by Katy Perry.

    Album Top20
In another quiet week, the EP by US DJ and instrumentalist Seven Lions called “Worlds Apart” debuts on top. The EP contains five songs, one of them features Ellie Goulding and even two feature Kerli (whose own “Utopia” is down 16-18 this week). That’s also of course the reason for this EP to debut on top, plus there was no big competition. If “Worlds Apart” wouldn’t be released, Lindsey Stirling’s self-titled debut would have been on top for a sixth week after topping the charts for five consecutive weeks over a year ago. But now the album rises 8-2 – in its 62nd week on the charts!!

Anette Olzon’s “Shine” is down 1-3 in its fifth week on the charts. It’s likely to be the first year since the album charts started that the compilation of the Eurovision Song Contest doesn’t reach the top spot. This week it falls 3-4, and next week there’ll be big debuts by Lindsey Stirling and Lily Allen. But the final will be on Saturday next week, so it may go to the top in two weeks.

Tuomas Holopainen’s “The Life And Times Of Scrooge” is down 2-5. Due to new hits on the Singles Top40, two albums are back on the charts. While “Problem” is from the upcoming second album, Ariana Grande’s debut album “Yours Truly” is back at #6. Behind her there’s Avril Lavigne’s self-titled debut album, which is back due to the success of “Hello Kitty”, the fourth single of the album.

Within Temptation still have two albums in the Top10, but this time “Mother Earth” (6-8) is higher than their current release “Hydra” (5-9). The last album in the Top10 is “ARTPOP” by Lady GaGa (4-10).

Miley Cyrus celebrates the 30th week on the charts with “Bangerz” (10-11). OneRepublic could reach that too, but as for now their album “Native” is still getting pushed by the new single “Love Runs Out” and rises 15-12 in its 27th week. “Fire Within” by Birdy is also rising (18-13) due to her single “Words As Weapons”, which is back in the Top10 this week.

    Airplay Top10
The Airplay Top10 is ruled by Ariana Grande. The singer gets another airplay hit with latest single “Problem”. The song was released on Monday, so it had less than three days plays only, but it still got played 124 times. That’s the third biggest weekly plays of the year so far, only danish singer Emmelie De Forest got more with “Rainmaker” (168 in its debut week, 126 in its second week).

Like on the singles charts, “Hello Kitty” also debuts at #2 with 54 plays. Sanna Nielsen is new at #3 with “Undo” and Priyanka Chopra new at #4 with “I Can’t Make You Love Me”.

This week the whole Top10 is new, so Anette Olzon has no entry at all after having lots of entries for an entire month. The most entries are by Lindsey Stirling this week, as some tracks from her debut got a few spins. The highest one is “Elements”, being back at #5. Album opener “Electric Daisy Violin” is back at #7, “Crystallize” at #8 and album closer “Stars Align” is back at #9.

Finally, the last two songs are from the current number one on the album charts. Both Seven Lions tracks featuring Kerli make their debut, with “Keep It Close” arriving at #6 and title track “Worlds Apart” coming in at #10.

Plays of the Top10 went up by 85 to 322 (+35.9%) compared to last week

Best new entry this week for me is Rita Ora, "I Will Never Let You Down" is the first song from her that I like.
Just listened to Priyanka Chopra's new song and it's quite good, thankfully Pitbull isn't around this time.
"Hello Kitty" on the other hand is just horrible, both the song and the video.

"I Will Never Let You Down" is currently growing on me and it's already her best song for me (i need to say that i disliked probably all her previous tracks so far too, except maybe "Radioactive", so that's definitely a big thing for her already).
Glad you like Priyanka's new song. :)
But it's so addictive somehow

Yes, Top5 is great for a debut! I just hope the track won't fall too fast, but as for now i still enjoy it a lot!

Did you only discover Within Temptation recently, or why is their old album and their old singles charted currently?

I know them since 2003, but the reason why these old songs/albums are charting is because i went to their concert here in march this year. I never paid that much attention to "Mother Earth" (album), but i re-listened to all their albums before the concert and fell in love with "Mother Earth". Plus i started my album charts in 2010, that's also why it never charted before (same with singles, the title track for example would have been a huge hit on my charts, if i would have make a charts back then).

So i guess you like them, too? :D

That's great! Have you heard some songs of her debut album? She's a really great singer and i'm sure we will get to hear a lot from her over the next years :)

^ Only the singles, and The Way was her best, probably. I never checked out the album because I wasn't very interested in her, even though she looks like a nice and talented girl!

ah okay. Well, the two singles "Right There" and "The Way" are my personal favorites, most other songs on the album are more calmed-down and less pop-ish (except "Piano" probably). "Problem" is a whole another direction than most songs on her debut, so i'm really excited for her upcoming album :)

Oh I think you should stop hoping for another single from this Era   If it had a GR8 video like G.U.Y maybe I would love it more but the problem with that song is that the second half is AMAZING , but the first half is messy ! Tho I love it a lot coz the beat is thick and heavy 8-)

I know, but i still believe it could be the next single as it's the her first song she produced all by herself. She has nothing to lose IMO, so why not releasing a fourth single, make a nice video and so she tried it at least. I LOVE the first part! Aphrodite lady seashell bikini gives me life
