Lately loving Raki a lot. It's the Turkish version of Ouzo.

The thing about ouzo is not how hard it is. It's about that smell.

wait, Raki is that thing that looks like dirty water, creamish-white, right? If so, it looks like it has totally different smell, if that makes any sense.

Raki is transparent but only gets whitish when you pour water in it. It's made of aniseed.

Gin has really exploded here now, I don't know if it's the same anywhere else, but I read something like the distilleries in the UK in recent years have gone from just a couple to hundreds. There are some really lovely gins out there, I really like Masons, Silent Pool, Monkey 47, Sipsmith, and many more, but now that the bandwagon has been well and truly jumped on, at work, we are selling more Gordons Pink & Lemonade than anything else, which is just gross.

I’ve been a regular gin drinker for about three years now, Sipsmith is really good as is Whitley Neil (noteably their ginger and rhubarb or blood orange) but my current favourite is Warner Edwards rhubarb gin - really tasty. I like pink gin but it’s quite chavvy. Oh, the Parma Violet one is nice too if you like the sweets! Wetherspoons sell it

As an aside, my friend’s dad has been a rhubarb farmer all his life and now his business is booming thanks to gin.
