I finally quit last June after about 10 years.

Alexander, toni_pest - trust me - you will rue the day when you took up smoking.

If you still can give up - then you should.

Oh, I said like 100 times that I'm gonna quit, but I never stick to it, I love it, but it's like too expensive, so maybe i'll quit soon...who knows?!

Well watching my Nan dying from lung cancer most probably caused by smoking makes me glad that I don't smoke. Lung cancer causes you to drown, slowly. It's a horrible way to go - if you can avoid it, do.

No, never.

You can get relaxed from taking slow breaths and chilling out or drinking alcohol.

Smoking makes you stink, kills your cells and causes serious disease....not for me thanks.

I don't like the way tobacco companies are exploiting developing countries.

Alcohol does just about the same...makes your breath stink and abusing it can have deadly effects along with those short term ones.

Been smoking since 2nd grade of high school, with some small pauses, and I almost stopped, but when I enrolled college the amount of stress just dragged me to cigarettes again + many of my friends smoke, so it's just unavoidable...but I hope one day I'll get rid of them :P

Well, I was assuming people were drinking in moderation.

I would rather love a breath smelling of alcohol than a breath stinking of smoke.

Well, with alcohol you can have it in moderation, and it won't do you very much harm at all. Whereas even smoking a few cigarettes per day can have costly effects.

Not me, I've probably only smoked about 20 cigarettes in my life and that was only due to being wasted at the time. Never seen any attraction to it full time.

No, it's nasty!

I'm turned off by having a partner who would smoke.

That's such a lame excuse :P no offence, but believing that what will be means you have to smoke isn't true.

But whatever works for you.

I'm glad a lot of people on Ukmix aren't smokers.
