Due to a surgery on Monday i'm smoke-free since three days and 7 hours....

Even though i don't think about it as often as yesterday or the day before, my desire to smoke is much bigger in the moments when i think about it.

I guess this would be the perfect opportunity to quit completely but somehow i don't even know if i want that... :-?

Vienna will soon officially ban smoking inside restaurants and bars like most other Western European countries, thanks to petitions and protests from people like me

Yassss....making this city better and better 8-) <3

@ BeeBoy: I guess you don't smoke, right?

Because a smoker has to be 'ready' to quit. They (or we) feel it if we are ready or not. And currently i'm not smoking because of the surgery, but i don't feel ready to quit completely. It's weird, i know.

I've quit smoking 4 years ago 8-) It's true you have to want it. But it was the same for me, I stopped smoking for 3 days after a "heavy" weekend in London and then just decided to stick with it. Haven't touched a cigarette since, thankfully I'm already at a point where I would never smoke again. You have to be sure that you want to stop and don't fool yourself with an occasional drunk cigarette

^ Ah okay. Congrats for quitting!

Well, I definitely shouldn't smoke for 1-2 weeks after the surgery so three and a half days so far is like nothing. Maybe i'll get past these two weeks and i'll quit completely afterwards. But at the moment i'm not even sure if i can 'survive' these 1-2 weeks.

Yes maybe you'll get past a point after those two weeks where you don't think about it as much and miss it, so you can change your mind and know you want it. In my case it really helped to think/inform myself about all the health issues, the smell, the money etc.
