Yes, the number should count, I agree, but I thought maybe there's been a precedent where the opposite has been accepted - because that would sooo much help me present a certain song
Anyway, I can't find any such case either. Oh well, there's always next month.
About this rule though, maybe we should be more specific like when there is collaboration between a solo and a band, if it is considered as duet, the number of people should take precedent but if it just a ft collaboration where the song is mostly sung by the main artist, the main artist should take precedent. I have a few occasions where I want to represent a song but didnt because I didnt think it is fair for the song to be represented by the band's country when the band is just a featuring artist and only sung 20% of the song

I'll do some searching, but if anyone remembers any such case off their head, I'll be grateful.

As Mainshow already pointed out, that would go against the rules. And at the risk of being pedantic (as if I weren't already :p ) I'd say a duet between a duo and a solo singer would have to be entered with the country of the duo, not the singer's (Royksopp and Robyn represented Norway a few months ago, for example)
So you answered yourself a while ago :)

Argh I'm trying to find a good Estonian entry but a few have been in Eurovision pre-selections. I'll get back to you.

It doesn't matter! As long as they have not represented Estonia, they're good!

oh ok I thought this was a thing according to Rule 5, and I remember a while back someone entered a IIRC Danish song from a melodifestivalen or something and I was slightly confused.

So just for future reference, what does 'Songs from concurrent Eurovision heats' mean? I took it to mean the countries official pre-selections but maybe its the Semi Finals? :-?

That means that you are not allowed to take songs which are still part of the national finals. For example, it is okay to take "Statements" by Loreen in April 2017 because the Swedish preselection was over but it would have been against the rules to submit that song to FsC back in February or March 2017 because they could have eventually become official Eurovision entries.

Well eurovision 2018 finished so there is currently no concurrent eurovision heat so as Grybop said he can take whatever he likes (minus the songs which actually competed).

On the other hand I have the USA and I have no idea what to enter lol

I'll replace "heats" with "national finals" in the next edition. :)

Thanks that explains it better, makes sense now, I think that Loreen example actually did happen.

I think 'Concurrent' should maybe be just 'Current' national finals to make things a little more clearer. :)

Great, thanks for the tip!
By the way, if any native speakers want to suggest any improvements for the phrasing of the rules, please feel free to do so!
