ULTIMATE 2016 FORUM SONG CONTEST
Where participants have the same number of total points, the one with the most valid entries is ranked higher. Green indicates #1 song, yellow indicates Top 5 song.

This year we had 317 entries submitted, down from last year's 332 but more than 2014's 289 entries and 2013's 286 entries. This makes 26,42 entries per month, compared to 2015's 27,83 2014's 24,08 and 2013's 23.83.
More and more players join! This year we reached 48 players, up from last year's 47 players, and even more than 2014's 45!

So, BIG congrats to CandyPerfumeBoy!!!! He submitted the #1 song 3 times this year (as in 2015) and again took the crown! Amazing feat, two years in a row! He really knows our taste

Grybop did great too this year, and is the only player that has ended up in the top 10 6 years in a row! And a #2 is a great achievement. Good job!

Thriller closes the top 3 with a great climb from last year's #10. Cool!!!

Really good climbs by: leomedar (14-4), mondflug (13-5, returning to the top 10), trebor (congrats! amazing jump 31-6), heppolo (2 contests and a 33-9 jump, amazing), jio (42-10), Tansike (34-11) and many others.

We had 13 new entries (or re-entries in some cases), with Affillate leading the pack @ #16. Unfortunately, we lose 8 players this year. Hope to see some of them back in the future.

10 players submitted a song every month. They ranked from #1 (CandyPerfumeBoy) to #14 (Spiral).

CandyPerfumeBoy is the poster with more 100+ points songs. He managed to score above that mark 3 times. No wonder why he is #1!

The winning song which reached the most points was "Free" by Broods which was submitted by CandyPerfumeBoy for New Zeland in July. It reached 147 points that month. Candy managed the top song for second year in a row.

Undercover was the player that, winning a month, ended up in the lowest position (@ #31). But he said goodbye back in April, and that explains the low position.

CandyPerfumeBoy, who else, was the player that ended up with the most songs @ #1-5, with 7 entries.

As a bonus track, here is the rank by country. Great year for Australia, ending at the top and winning three contests this year.

Thanks, leomedar, really cool stats! The "bonus track" is very hard to read though, it seems to have been resized from a larger size.

Have you looked at if there is any impact from the starting order? I.e. is it better to present the entry early so that people have more time to listen to it or later when it may have a lower risk of getting "lost in the crowd"?

Regarding me... well, last year I was consciously entering songs that are a little leftfield most of the times (alternative synthpop, greek laiko, new age, or lo-fi electronica) that most of you seemed to like as well, so woo!

ULTIMATE 2017 FORUM SONG CONTEST
Where participants have the same number of total points, the one with the most valid entries is ranked higher. Green indicates #1 song, yellow indicates Top 5 song.

This year we had 317 entries submitted, exactly the same number from last year! So we had again 26,42 entries per month. 2015 remains as the year with the highest activity but 2017 was not bad at all.
This year we also reached 48 players, repeating last years participation rate. But we had 10 exits and, of course, 10 new entries / re-entries.

CandyPerfumeBoy ruled the year for a third time in a row!!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!! Once again, as in 2015 and 2016, he had the #1 song of the month in three ocations, more than any other member. Fun fact is that all the wins were in the second half of the year.

Affillate occupies the runner-up spot, after debuting last year @ #16. He had 1 Top song and then 5 Top 5s! mondflug is our number 3. He was one spot above until december, but eventually ends up third with a really small 2 points difference with Affillate, Good job anyway, as a top 3 is an amazing feat!!! Besides, mondflug has been top 5 in 6 ou of 7 years. Cool! 8-)

Mainshow rises 8-4 and has been in the top 10 the last 5 years. I am falling 4-5, with no top song and "only" 2 Top5s. flopho rises and returns to the top10 while xtofer follows at number 7, his very first top10 ending. Great job!

jio rises 2 places and reaches his second-best rank, while KindOf falls a little and Grybop closes up the top 10. not so good news for our beloved host (although this year we have had nice help from Mainshow and trebor): he reaches his lowest rank ever, but the bright side is that it is still inside the top10!

We had 10 new entries (or re-entries in some cases), with westhammer leading the pack @ #14. Unfortunately, we lose 10 players this year. Hope to see some of them back in the future.

11 players submitted a song every month. They ranked from #1 (CandyPerfumeBoy) to #25 (Spiral).

CandyPerfumeBoy is the poster with more 100+ points songs. He managed to score above that mark 4 times. No wonder why he is #1!

The winning song which reached the most points was Band of Gold - I Wanna Dance With You Again which was submitted by CandyPerfumeBoy for Norway in December. It reached 142 points . Candy managed the top song for THIRD year in a row.

JakeP was the player that, winning a month, ended up in the lowest position (@ #29). But he participated in only three months, with one top song and one top5. Very promising results, should he play more often we have some serious contender for the top!

CandyPerfumeBoy, who else, was the player that ended up with the most songs @ #1-5, with 7 entries.

Countries

71 countries ranked this year, up from 66 last year. 16 countries exit and 21 enter. Australia leads for a second year thanks to 2 wins and 2 top5s, but only 2 points ahead of UK!!!

Thanks a lot for the stats leomedar, great work! Makes me want to update my personal stats as well lol.
Just one little thing: in October 2017, my entry was from the Republic of Congo, not the Democratic Republic of Congo, but don't worry it's no biggie and definitely an understandable mix-up :lol:
