My favourite is Bedtime Story.

I was amazed by this video the first time I saw it. I found it hard to believe it was Madonna because it is so alternative and is not mainstream like her other videos. The imagery is so mysterious and beautiful, and even quite scary at times. I still don't fully understand exactly what is going on in the video, but that doesn't bother me because it all looks really cool. I also like that it is quite underrated and not as common as her other videos. It also helps that it is my favourite Madonna song. I'd say it's one of the most creative and interesting videos I've seen.

She's had a lot of good ones, but I think "Like A Prayer" is her magnum opus as a video.

Everything works perfectly with the progression of the song. The longer dark hair and the shocking religious and racial boundaries kicked in the video showed that the cutesy Monroe-esque girl next door from the True Blue era was dead. The video was over the top but not to such an extent of becoming parody. The song and video are just pure epics.

MATERIAL GIRL

The music video was a mimicry of Marilyn Monroe's performance of the song "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" from the 1953 film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The mimicked scenes are interspersed with scenes of a Hollywood director trying to win the heart of an actress, played by Madonna herself. Discovering that, contrary to her song, the young woman was not impressed by money and expensive gifts, he pretended to be penniless and succeeded in taking her out on a date. Scholars noted the symbology of the video and deduced it as a medium for promoting Madonna's image.

I like Madonna in Marilyn Monroe's style. Video seems very simple today, but I like it more, than all her another videos.

Agree on "Like A Prayer" - that video may be Madonna's crowning moment and her creative peak. I bet Pepsi regrets that they gave in to the controversy around the video, given how iconic it has become.

BTW--- this topic is an excellent one. For the sake of variety I hope you'll include rock, R&B, and acts from other genres, as it could lead to some interesting discussion!

Hung Up

Definitely her last iconic video from the ''00s.It jump-started the 'skimpy leotard and heels' trend amongs female perfomers.

This is actually a really difficult decision because Madonna has come out with so many iconic videos over the last three decades. Narrowing it down, these would be some of my favourites:

- Frozen
- Like A Prayer
- Material Girl
- Ray Of Light
- Hung Up
- Vogue
- Don't Tell Me
- Die Another Day
- Erotica
- Hollywood
- Love Profusion

I don't know which I would pick as my favourite, though, because it's very difficult to do so. I started to really enjoy Madonna by the mid-90s so a part of me will always love that side of Madonna more, as opposed to her earlier videos.

But, if I was forced to pick one or the other, I would probably choose 'Frozen' because that video is incredible and the eeriness of it suits the song down to the ground.

I definately feel that "Like A Prayer" is her best video too. It's iconic because it's just so fantastic. I love it.

I also love the style of "Human Nature", which is definately another favourite of mine.

I'm glad somebody mentioned 'Bad Girl'. It is probably my second favourite. I love videos which act as mini movies, where the artist is playing a character for the entire duration and not making any personal eye contact with the viewer. Videos like this are definitely rare these days, which makes me like 'Bad Girl' even more - it is very 90's which I love.

Yes, Frozen is one of my all time fave songs, and the music video is just perfect!!! So dark, so black, great production, miles better than the overrated Ray Of Light music video which won many awards at the VMAs.

Like A Prayer. Reminds me of childhood. I remember listening to the charts on my white ghetto blaster waiting to see if it was still Number One and whenever I'm flicking through the music channels it's the one Madonna video I will leave it at the channel to watch

"Frozen".

It was one of the first music videos I can remember watching on MTV, and it's still my all-time favourite video.

Seriously stunning.
