Whoooaaa. My fave song is winning the votes. Breathe On Me :P
I didn't vote for Toxic in my top 5. I always thought that song was more hype than anything. It's a decent song with a good video but I think it was just promoted and marketed properly to be a hit.

That and it was her first single since like her 2nd album after the whole Radio blackout thing they did to her.

14 years already, wow!
I think this is my favourite Britney record. It has aged so much better than 'Blackout'.

Yes and yes! While Blackout is a good record, I cannot help but feel it is soo overrated among fans. In The Zone will always be her best one for me and I don't think she will ever top this. Everything about the era was perfect, shame it ended so quickly.

'Best one' you mean

It's a shame the era didn't last longer. A shame they didn't release 'Outrageous' because of the knee injury. They also could've released 'Breathe On Me' or '(I Got That) Boom Boom'. 'Early Mornin' would've been great too. Imagine a hot video for that one.

Oops   I haven't had a lot of sleep last night, so forgive me. Haha.

I agree, without her knee injury the era would have been so different. Not sure if Outrageous would have smashed as hard as Toxic or Everytime, but at least we would have gotten a whole video (Outrageous was always one of my favourite songs on the album).
Touch Of My Hand and Shadow are sublime as well, wouldn't have worked as singles but especially Touch Of My Hand is one of the most interesting songs she has ever recorded.

My least favourite album by Britney (minus Britney Jean) but it's still epic and the singles are iconic. I can't believe it turned 14 years! Time flies!

Peesonally, I think she was the best version of herself in terms of artistry and that's why it is indeed sad that that era was so short due to the infamous knee injury.

They should have released "Breathe On Me" as the fourth single and maybe even go with a re-relase and get more singles. That "Greateat Hits" album would have made more sense when she was actually pregnant.

However, all three singles are iconic and don't get me wrong, I like this album very much but I prefer here straight pop albums more ;)

Happy 14th anniversary to Britney's most defining album and best era!!

Even though "Blackout" is pretty much her magnum opus according to every publication I feel that "In the zone" as an era is what ultimately defines Britney Spears. This album IMO represents her full liberation and its placed right in the middle of her early bubblegum career and her less interesting late career, so the record is the perfect ballance that sets the best Britney version while she was at the top of her artistry.

I think the album was really successful for only having 3 global singles, it just proves this was going to outsell her previous album "Britney" if she had continued working on the era until the end. The released singles are top-notched regardless and the main three showcase a different side of Britney as a dancer (MATM), epic Pop star (Toxic), deep songwriter (Everytime). She has not shown before or after this much diversity in style and approaches as a an artist. She was ahead of the pop scene with this one.

This is pretty much the public's favorite Britney studio album these days, there is a reason why it is her most streamed album and her singles are so remembered and adored, its a pop era worthy of revisit.

Yeah, Blackout was her magnum opus but as an era nothing beats ITZ. She was the hottest. IGTBB should had been a single.

This was indeed a great era for Brit Brit. A lot of the album's tracks have grown on me over the years, and I think I'd rank this among her Top 5 records to date.

I still think Blackout is her best album, but this is a very close second! Probably has my favourite Britney singles on it.
I'd love for Britney to make another record like this.

I’d love her to make a sort of sequel to this. We need more songs like a showdown, Touch of My Hand, Breathe On Me and Shadow.

It's her second best album for me. It was the best album era overall and the singles were great. sadly the era was so short. It was definitively the highlight of her career, she was in top. Breathe on me or Touch of my hand would have been great singles cause they are some of her best songs ever and I also think Britney loves these too

The style was great too and the album was the first one from her that was really perfection. The albums before weren't so great

This is Britney's most inspired body of work, as well as her most eclectic. I prefer Blackout to it, but it's definitely my second favourite album from Brit; and it was nice to see her channeling the diversity of In the Zone with Glory. She explores a wide variation of musicality throughout both records.

It's a shame that the era was cut short after her injury. I'd have loved for Outrageous to have received a complete rollout with promotion and of course the music video that was being shot. Breathe On Me and (I Got That) Boom Boom were also screaming out to be released. She could have struck six with this in terms of smash hits. A shame.

This is her best work that's for sure. No need to pit it against the briliant Blackout, but this was Britney showing all strengths in one album. Uptempos, midtempos, ballads, she aced it.
