"Try Again" is a song by American recording artist Aaliyah. It was written by Static Major and Timothy Mosley, and produced by Timbaland. The song was released on February 22, 2000, as the lead single for the soundtrack to the film Romeo Must Die. "Try Again" was the first song ever to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 based solely on the strength of its radio airplay, on the week of June 17, 2000. The song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 43rd Grammy Awards, while its music video won two MTV Video Music Awards for Best Female Video and Best Video from a Film in 2000.

To this day this is still an insane tune and still gives me goosebumps. Such a waste of a major talent. Remember being so shocked when she died all those years ago.

Listening to this now.
I don't think I will ever get tired of it. What a tune.

'Try Again' reminds me of my childhood. I was obsessed with the music video and wanted to walk on walls too.

Still sounds so fresh after 18 years! She really made R&B so eclectic and exiting. There's just no one like her.

She was so ahead of the music trends. But also fhanks to Timbaland.
She embraced current music trends and beats at the time but she was so far ahead with some of her singles like Try Again and Are You That Somebody!

Even her post humous songs sounded like nothing trending on the radio. Yet the music was great.

Same here, that was at the height of the Britney versus Christina rivalry, Aaliyah herself was shocked that she won, she looked so gorgeous in that yellow and black dress.

A timeless song, absolute classic from 2000. The first song that got me into Aaliyah.

Seeing that clip of he accepting the award is so poignant. I remember in a documentary her brother said how she dragged him up on stage with her and then turned to him and said “to my brother, you are my everything” and as he said that you could see he was heartbroken...so sad
