Hey Ruben, it's Jordan again. I've got another date for a new Britney CD that's currently entitled 'Hits'. (Still working at FYE (Transworld Entertainment)) It's due for a November 16th release.
We have 2 different UPC codes for the CD, one is a limited edition 2-CD set and the other, I'm assuming, is just a regular CD.

Anyways, we just got the date in Friday's mailbag and I'm just now getting around to e-mailing you the information. I'll keep you up-to-date on any other information I can garner!

-Jordan- (Cincinnati, OH)

...and that my friends, concludes Britney's 5-album obligation with Jive Records.

Still think it's a bit too early. She could release other 2 singles off ITZ

Wow, I bet they must have had loads of meetings deciding on the title.

And 'In The Zone' is pretty recent anyway? :-?

In The Zone isn't even a year old - November 2003  This info makes me suspicious - I doubt Britney would want to be recording while she has a bad knee and previous history has shown that she usually waits about 2 years in between albums, not just 1 year. Anyway, good luck to her is she is actually bringing out another record. As long as it is good quality like ITZ then she's gonna be alright :D

Don't know if the rumor's true... btw, no-one died it, as far as I know. ITZ is just one year old, but it's still selling good. Maybe her record label wants to jump on it: the GH will definitely sell very well, cos of the huge sucess of ITZ. She has time to get back in studio to record new tracks, cos there are no more tourdates to do.
I still think she could wait, but I think it's a label choice rather than hers.
If she releases it, the new album could be on hold till late 2006. If not, label will try to have something new for Xmas 2005, cos it's the best time to sell a lot of records...

There's a new single on the way: Outrageous, early August...

She has enough hits to fill it

BABY...ONE MORE TIME
SOMETIMES
YOU DRIVE ME CRAZY
BORN TO MAKE YOU HAPPY (EU)
FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY BROKEN HEART (US)
OOPS!...I DID IT AGAIN
LUCKY

DON'T LET ME BE THE LAST TO KNOW
I'M A SLAVE FOR YOU
I'M NOT A GIRL, NOT YET A WOMAN
OVERPROTECTED
BOYS
I LOVE ROCK N' ROLL (US)
ME AGAINST THE MUSIC

This has been confirmed in the interview with Britney in US mag, People.

I hope this doesnt mean that Britney is giving up music though. I hope she signs a new deal after this and I hope she doesnt change her sound too much. I like the vibe of ITZ and would like to see another album in that vein. Reports suggest she wants to go a bit rock like P!NK. I hope she dont- Britney does upeat songs you can dance to best.

She also says she needed a break from the Onyx Hotel Tour. She says it was a great tour but her head wasn't in it.

Also, I did a mock of a Britney GH album a while back. I made up the cover, cd and back cover with tracklisting. Would I be able to post them?

I called it ONYX HOTEL- Greatest Hits Of Britney Spears.

From www.britney.com:

Code: Select all
BRITNEY RELEASES GREATEST HITS ALBUM AND DVD ON NOVEMBER 16TH
With over 55 million album sales under her belt, Britney's Greatest Hits is on the way this Fall! [Autumn to us UKers, but you probably know that.] Ranging from "...Baby One More Time" to "Toxic", this will be an all-inclusive package of hits. She will also be recording a brand new song for the album which will hit radio airwaves in September! As a bonus, the Greatest Hits will include a limited edition remix bonus CD!

I can't see what all the fuss is about Britney already releasing a "Greatest Hits" collection. It reminds me of Kylie Minogue's career with Stock Aitken Waterman - she released four albums between 1988-1991 and released her "Greatest Hits" in 1992. I guess it is a bit soon, but that's what usually happens when an artist comes to the end of their recording contract. I guess Britney won't sign with Jive again, if she bothers to continue recording at all.

I actually thought 'It's Never Easy Being Cheesy' was a great album title...really...original.

or... "Hit me baby one more time" - it has the word 'hit' in it. :-?

Anyway, that's a stupid name as her first album was called like that.

Or else she should call it 'My Pointless Album Aimed To Cash In From Fans By Including Two Bonus Tracks'.

Yes, T, I hate this too. But Jive is basically doing this to finish her 5 album deal with her. The 2 worst mistakes they've ever made: releasing "Outrageous" and this GH!

I mean atleast "GHV2" was released over a year after "Music".

Yeah, "Cinderella" was a good little pop ditty from "Britney". Certainly better than "Not A Girl".

You were probably really also wishing for a release of "Bombastic Love".

I must say, I'm not saying this shouldn't be released. All my friends will back me up on this; I've always said the fifth album will be a greatest hits (I'm psychic! Hoorah!) and I'll be first in the queue to buy it on (on CD (with bonus CD) and DVD). But... I dunno... There's just something not right about it all...

I guess we'll see.

Until then, roll on September! We get to hear a new Brit song! Woo!

I have a sickening and worrying feeling this could be Britney's last official release. I hope not but I think it could be.

I still think it should be called- THE ONYX HOTEL. A great name that can be related to the tour.

A remix that Im hoping for though on the bonus CD is the Boys/Slave 4 U remix/megamix that she performed on the In The Zone ABC Special. I think its great and I have been looking for it everywhere but it doesnt seem to have been released- not comercially anyway.

I very much doubt this will be her last album!

I really do see her as the new Madonna. I think she may take a couple of years off after the greatest hits, but she'll be back!
