Not bad for her first blast at a music career!

Lets wait and see for the future though! :o

Shakira though at #1 again! WOW great stuff! But the weekend sales might change it.

Paris Hilton - 'Stars Are Blind'
(Thursday August 3, 2006 5:30 PM )

Released on 31/07/06
Label: Warner Bros

A homemade porn film makes some vacuous dead-eyed socialite your country's biggest and most bankable star. Bizarre isn't it? And a surefire sign that your culture is wheezing its final death rattle. With Paris Hilton, surely there's no more barrel to scrape than the odd scrap of soaked and rotten wood.

Certainly, since that infamous video performance on Rick Salomon's member, her unstoppable ascent of celebrity's greasy pole has been one ceaseless and unremitting celebration of stupidity. This shows few signs of abating now her inevitable pop career has been kick-started. Up there in the pantheon of reggae classics with Peter Andre's "Mysterious Girl" and Ace Of Base's "All That She Wants", "Stars Are Blind" exploits Paris' almost limitless talents to the full - namely the ability to smile, coo, shop and rhyme "ride", "suicide", "pride" and "inside" in the same verse.

Honestly, it's all so depressingly awful, you just want to tear at your own eyes sockets, shake a fist at the sky and inflict harm on its makers. Expect a duet with P Diddy any day from now.

2/10
  I always read reviews like this and feel a bit bad for not hating the song...

The Ace Of Base song was quite good, I noticed some type of prejudice here... Paris Hilton is NOTHING compared to Ace Of Base (well, to anyone else in earth).

That Ace Of Base song was good! :o

But comparing Stars Are Blind to Mysterious Girl is taking the mickey, at least Stars Are Blind is listenable.

Almighty already covered the song stripping away the reggae influence...a shame really.
It's been called that before...but not by you!

I was actually thinking about this song yesterday! She's a typical blonde on the outside but she's a vicious business woman... in a good way!

"Nothing In This World" was my top 10 track! Some other songs from the album reached top 20... Thriller is right that the material was wasted on her... some other real vocalist might make it huge!

I remember when I couldn't believe this beautiful guilty pleasure peaked higher than Beyonce's "Deja Vu" on the World Charts back in 2006 :o :P

I find the video somehow boring and crappy but the song is really catchy :) Not her best though... but still, a decent debut from a Socialité porn start turned out fashion designer turned ocassional Razzie Nominated Actress turned "singer" :o   8-)

It was a great lead single and surprisingly decent. It sucks how prejudiced people are against her. With the amount of money and fame she's got I doubt losing a distribution deal with Warner is a big deal that will leave her feeling shattered.

She has her own label and the money and contacts to fund and cut an album herself.
She also has a hit single and 600k+ selling album to her name, so there IS interest in her and the potential for making bucks there.
Once her album is done and video is shot she can contact any old label and get them to sign on and distribute the record for her.
Promotion for her is easy peasy as she is a walking talking publicity stunt. Worst case scenario she can always sign on and do a reality show about her life/recording the album, whatever.

A quick look at this thread and its incredible how well Star Are Blind did all around the globe, mostly Top 10 on both main charts and airplay.
Hater-bitch, we're taking you to the left.
