Yeah! I also cannot believe that it's already 14 years ago! Oo - I can still remember be being in the 3rd class giving "I Love Rock'n'Roll" and "I'm a Slave 4 U" singles as presents to my friends
My Top 5 of "Britney tracks":
#1 Cinderella #2 Bombastic Love #3 I'm a Slave 4 U #4 I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman #5 Before The Goodbye
I also love "Overprotected", "When I Found You", "Boys (Album Version)" & "Let Me Be" - This album was litereally perfect! It had pure pop masterpieces, some bubblegum tracks and songs which showed a new side of her in which were part of her transitioning into a grown-up.
She was such a respected, highly regarded popstar around the time of this record's release, even if it didn't sell as much as the first two albums and didn't make as much of an impression on the public and critics as much as Oops! did. She was absolutely everywhere throughout this era and In the Zone, which was a transitional album following Britney. I miss this time so much!
Britney is the third studio album by American singer Britney Spears. It was released on November 6, 2001 in the United States through Jive Records. Looking to transition from the teen pop styles of her earlier albums ...Baby One More Time (1999) and Oops!... I Did It Again (2000), Spears began to embrace a more mature sound with Britney. Its music incorporates genres of pop and dance-pop with influences of R&B and occasionally dips into elements of disco, hip hop and rock; its lyrics address the subjects of reaching adulthood and sexuality. Contributions to its production came from a variety of collaborators, including Max Martin and Rami Yacoub. Spears herself assumed a more prominent role in the album's development, co-writing seven of its tracks.

Happy Birthday to this amazing pop album! By far her most underrated record and her best era. And her best-selling studio album in Japan, South Korea, and Thailand.
Happy 16th anniversary to "Britney" , its probably my 4th favorite Britney album, really solid. I vividly remember going through this era back in my early teens, as an era it was perfectly executed with lots of music videos, great visuals, looks and promotion, the album was a success and she was at the peak of her celebrity power. "Slave" had the better music video and is the more iconic but Overprotected" was IMO the best song / single from the entire album and era, its simply among her greatest recordings.
