It feels like this album is so underrated. Might be my fave Bee album.

End Of Time is surely one of her best.

This is actually the 24K Magic before the 24K Magic happened. A lot of the songs here scream throwback R&B vibe which is an improvement over the chart-chasing I Am... Sasha Fierce, but her team probably couldn't get over pop-driven eras of the Gagas and the Rihannas that's why they chose the radio-ready pop singles ("Run the World" and "Best Thing I Never Had") and the dullest songs ("I Was Here" and "1+1" were both recycle bin ready songs) to promote.   Beyoncé probably even thought that the Diane Warren-penned "I Was Here" would become her Adele ballad at the time considering that she did extra promo for that over "End of Time" and the brilliant bonus tracks a year after. :-? :-?

Definitely her best album.... Dance For You and Countdown >>>>>>>>>>>

It came out during RnB's worst period tbh, otherwise this was a multiplatinum smash without a doubt

Honestly, "Run The World", "Best Thing I Never Had" & "Love On Top" were such major Pop radio hits over here in South East Asia. And I believe it did pretty well in the Europe as well, didn't it? Basically, it's just the US who did the album wrong, at least it spawned several Urban hits there.

Me too actually. I remember thinking that at the time as well. I was sick to death of that whole mess, any station any song was EDM it was disgusting. And then this album came out and it was literally like an oasis.

I was iffy on the lead single, it grew on me in time though, but loved the whole album instantly. Well, almost the whole album to be perfectly honest.... I still despise I Was Here (one of her worst songs ever and if they HAD to have a Becky ballad on there why they didn't go with the superior God Made You Beautiful, I've no idea) and 1+1 has lost some of its initial luster as far as I'm concerned, but overall this far and away stands as her best record no doubt.

Amazing piece of work. I'd love nothing more than to have another album like this from her and fall in love with her as an artist again. And by another album like this I mean in the sense that she would get back to sanging her heart out and singing MELODIES, not a record in similar sonic direction per se.

I think God Made You Beautiful wasn’t from the 4 sessions, it’s written by Sia right? And she only began to work with her for the ‘snippet’ era that led eventually in Selftitled

I love Run The World a lot but I really do think Love On Top should have been the lead single. It’s universally loved by many. LOT and RTW are the 2 most remembered songs from 4 (poor completely forgotten UK #3 peaking smash BTINH)

It did reasonably well on the charts considering the era got off to a very shakey start with the very polarizing Run The World and even tho LOT is lowkey a classic, I feel if it was the lead, it would of joined Crazy In Love, Single Ladies, Halo and Irreplaceable as one of her defining songs. It coulda/woulda been her 5th ranking signature song imo but RTW low-key stifled the rest of the singles chart performances.

It did, after that radios DJs said it's over for you.
Too bad for them, Bey made a classic out of it.
