If You Asked Me To is a strange one - the song was a huge hit in the US and Canada (the second time she'd impacted the top 5 in the US within a 16 month period and her first #1 in Canada) but outside of North America, it was a bit of a nothing hit.

Australia, like the UK, warmed up to her quite late in the game - she wouldn't reach the Australian top 10 until March 1994 with The Power of Love (which would go onto become her first of three #1s).
