The queen of ballads releasing a ballad-free album? It's like wishing Eminem to release a dance album.

#notgonnahappen

And IDK. She looks tires yes, but she looks happy and healthy to me. Can't wait to get my hands on a new English album! It's been 4 long years since the last one.
We are never just good or just bad. We are mosaics of our worst selves and our best selves.

SO pumped for the next era, to see what numbers she delivers - I am hoping for a much better record than we got with LMBTL.
Are we expecting a new English album next year? I really enjoyed 'Loved Me Back To Life'. Especially the title track and 'Water And A Flame'. :) I also wouldn't mind another French record. 'Encore Un Sir' is beautiful. 'L'étoile' is everything.

I thought the English album was done and ready.
Maybe adding some extra songs?

Hmm, what gave you the impression that the album was finished - have I just missed that completely?

I love half the album, loathe half the album

Loved Me Back To Life (love)
Somebody Loves Somebody (love)
Breakaway (love)
Water And A Flame (love)
Didn’t Know Love (love)
Thankful (love)

But she needs to stay away from songs like Overjoyed, Lullabye, At Seventeen, Unfinished Songs, How Do You Keep The Music Playing & Thank You (love the latter 2, but come on Celine - not for a new album).

I read somewhere (don't remember the source) the album was finished, but it was put on hold because of the tour.

Noo, it wasn't....she just recorded maybe 2-3 songs before now. They did say coz of the tour and other reasons, she would start recording again when she's back in Vegas. They're taking things slow, so for all we know, she'll be recording up till Summer next year lol

$ 100,000 donation from Céline and René: the gift that changed the life of Claudette Dion

Everyone recognizes Claudette Dion as Celine Dion's sister.

To such a point that Claudette chose the title Claudette Dion: the sister of ... for her autobiography written in collaboration with Jean-Yves Girard.

Claudette Dion tells about her childhood in Charlemagne in a family of 13 brothers and sisters where everyone pushed the note.

"Our family was known for Charlemagne's music. We were asked, "she says in an interview with Denis Lévesque.

Claudette says she was not attracted to an artistic career like her younger sister. She rather aspired to found a family: "I wanted to get married and have children".

Despite Celine's blistering career, she says she never felt jealous of her. "When your name is Dion, people love you from the start," she explains to Denis Lévesque.

Life still allowed Claudette Dion to express her artistic talent. At the suggestion of Rene Angelil, she recorded in 1984 a first album, "Hymns to love", composed of covers of his favorite tunes.

In the meantime, Claudette Dion has grown in popularity as an artist and has even hosted TV shows in Quebec City and Montreal.
Financial trouble

But following a divorce, Celine's older sister had serious financial problems, forcing her to even go on welfare.

"When I got there, I can tell you that I bawled my life there. She (the official) said: Mrs. Dion, it's not possible ... I said listen, I need your help, they will cut me the electricity, "she remembers with emotion .

Unknowingly, Celine and Rene decided soon after to give $ 100,000 to each of Celine's brothers and sisters during a family party. Claudette says that this gift has changed her life.

To convince her to come to the party, Celine told him: "Claudette, go buy new shoes and come to the party, you're going to run over!"

The money allowed him to repay his mortgage and regain control over his life.

And the artistic life had not said its last word. Claudette released a second album in 2002, devoted entirely to Edith Piaf's work.
The following year, after a series of 70 shows at the Casino de Montréal, she was invited to the Olympia in Paris to interpret the tunes of Piaf.

It can be said that "the sister of ..." will have a great career after all.

CÉLINE DION IS EXTREMELY MY SHIT

Liz Plank on the Québécois singer’s offbeat charm.

She’s kooky. She's Canadian. And she’s one of the most talented singers of all time. Céline Dion has been winning fans since the '80s with her mega-sized voice. And thanks to the internet, a new generation is celebrating her quirky persona. Fellow Canadian and executive producer of Divided States of Women Liz Plank has loved Céline from the beginning, before the world knew her name and she still sang in French. In this episode of Extremely My Shit, Plank looks back on her relationship with her hometown hero and explains why her appeal goes on and on.

I so agree ! :D :P
The track has a groovy atmosphere. At that time, my preferred uptempo from her after Unison.

I was excited after hearing she sang it in Copenhagen but sad it was dropped for the rest of the tour.

I learned to love the track after having seen a Live A Paris performance

In spite of never being a bonafide dancer her energy, moves and stage presence are remarkable for a vocalist.

I just heard this yesterday. I have a playlist of about 4500 singles/hits from the 80s and 90s that I play on shuffle quite a bit. This just happened to come up. It's quite the group of voices, and not a terrible song. Celine stands out.

Best American Music Awards Performances No. 10: Celine Dion Pays Tribute to Paris Attack Victims at the 2015 AMAs

In honor of the 2017 American Music Awards, Billboard is counting down the best performances from the awards show’s history. Here is No. 10.

The world was still reeling from the terrorist attacks that had taken the lives of 130 people across six different target locations throughout Paris. But these attacks hit closer to home for the American music industry as 89 lives were lost in a mass shooting at Le Bataclan during a show by American rockers Eagles of Death Metal.

So, it was only fitting for Celine Dion, the foremost French-language chanteuse in America, to take on the responsibility of honoring the lives lost with a musical tribute at the 2015 American Music Awards. The Quebecois native -- who made her name as a teen star in the French-speaking world -- sang Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à L'Amour” in French.

Just as the Eiffel Tower went dark to mourn Paris, so too did the stage of the AMAs 10 days after the Nov. 13 tragedy. The minimalist stage was characterized by black outfits and low lighting as images of Parisian landmarks were projected on a big screen.

Dion’s powerhouse voice deviated from Piaf’s precise vibrato while easing into the soaring vocal runs demanded of the song. Shots of tear-streaked faces in the crowd were interwoven into the emotionally charged production, aided by an orchestra. There were parts where the veteran songstress went off-key, but that contributed to the emotional intensity of the moment.

However, the superstar’s presence didn’t distract from the gravity of the moment -- at one point, Dion turned back at the screen to take in the images of Paris along with the audience. Then she closed out the performance with a sustained note filled with the kind of intensity that was only appropriate for the evening.

Just voted on the poll. I've heard To Love You More on 3 separate occasions while at Home Depot. They clearly stan.

the Hymne à l’amour performance has to be the most out of tune of her career, but I love how emotional it was, and how stoic she came across. that dress was gorgeous, as well.
