Just learned that Katy Perry tributes Janet on her Witness tour during Bon Appétit!

It’s a bit random but love the fact that she’s referencing her :)

Saw Damita for the first time in my 30 years of fandom (in Bethlehem, Pa.)- and what an experience.

I wrote a review/commentary for my paper. I just stuck to Janet for my article, though the DJ was enjoyable. And I didn't bother to report what time she came on (around 8:30 p.m., which wasn't bad given she had a DJ opening), all that minor stuff. :)

And here it is. It was another labor of love, so hope the "Rhythm Nation" enjoys it. :

That would be great. Unless she's been working while on tour and everything else going on, late next summer or fall seems like the soonest possible to me.

Whenever it happens, she seems like she's got plenty of inspiration for a new batch of songs.

Can't see it happening anytime soon as we all know how she is with breaks between albums. The shortest we had was probably two years, between Damita Jo and 20 Y.O. and that was a "damage control" album... or so they tried.

There was only 17 months between 20 Y.O. and Discipline

After this tour, I want her to take a break... I can only imagine being a new mother, touring US.

Billboard
The 100 Best Deep Cuts by 21st Century Pop Stars: Critics' Picks

You may or may not agree with our definition, but we think you'll agree with the songs -- buried treasures, should've-been singles, and oddball jams that show you a side of your favorite superstar that you never knew existed. Dive in to the deep end of the pop world with us.

27. Janet Jackson, "LUV" (Discipline, 2008)

When Janet Jackson says she's in love, you best believe she's in LUV, L-U-V. For this Discipline almost-single, she feels the emotional crash so acutely she spends most of the song comparing it to a literal car accident, with Rodney Jerkins' blaring synths sounding like the police and ambulance sirens collecting around her as she lies in motionless rapture. "He hit me with his love," is all she can comment from her ecstatic daze, and no traffic cop would dare interfere. -- A.U.

Only two stars that started their careers in the '80s or earlier included: Janet at #27 and Madonna at #62.

Luv is the standout on Discipline. It's such a shame it never received a video. It should've been a huge hit and should've put Janet back on the mark. :(

True. And let's not even mention her bops with Missy Elliott - pure fire!

I always thought The 1 was great and doesn't deserve the bashing it gets from some fans.

Luv was the reason Janet was at war with her label.
