"Ghosttown" on the other hand is one of my least 5 Madonna singles of all time. I get bored of it while listening to it. The video - as far as I remember it- was pretty nice, though.

I like RH, it was massive step up after disgusting MDNA. But the fact is that she lost her identity, both times she let other people do more than her. Both albums are tragically mastered, some songs are louder. That's how much she cared about final products! Couldn't even bothered to listen whole albums to check if they were mastered properly.
Both times she listened what her kids said. If anything she exposed herself as very insecure when she was giving interviews about leaks, she had no vision. She started overthinking everything.

If that's how it's gonna be from now on i HOPE she never releases new music again.

That's a good description of how I feel about Ghosttown - bored. Nice song, nice video, but bland and formulaic. Comparing it to a song like Live To Tell, it has none of the atmospherics that LTT has. I feel the same way about Devil Wouldn't Recognize You - it's far more cookie-cutter than epic. But the potential was there.

MDNA > Rebel Heart

No matter how many times i'll listen to RH, nothing will change my opinion. Though last three Madonna albums are a big step down from Confessions album. Let's hope Portugal inspires her in the right direction.

And maybe she's recording new songs but don't wanna let anyone know in case leaks happen?

I think it has and I think she is. Her following Mirwais on instagram is a good sign. her posting videos of her singing/playing on instagram is also a good sign. she seems in the zone and inspired.

Devil Pray should've been released as single with a controversial video music a la Like a Prayer.

Never saw this RH interview before... 15 minutes on music, making the album, her colabs and ageism. I wish we had more interviews like this (but with grills).

Agreed!

I think 'Rebel Heart' singles should have been:

01. Living For Love
02. Devil Pray
03. Rebel Heart
04. Ghosttown

True. Mirwais is a random follow as he doesn’t seem to use Instagram. I really hope she’s recording. I don’t believe she is but I’d love it if she were.

Devil Pray is my favourite song on the album but I don’t see how it would have worked as a single.

Devil Pray could have had an absolutely epic music video. It's a crime that we didn't get one, even if the song itself is not particularly tailored for radio due to its lyrical content.

It's a killer track. I thought of it as a single from the moment I heard it. Especially with a great music video.

1. Living For Love (a different version with a long gospel outro)
2. Rebel Heart (single remix which is identical to the first leaked version... so fans will have an extra reason to buy)
3. Messiah
4. Hold Tight/Queen

Which is why I don’t think it would have worked

Yeah, releasing Rebel Heart with a single mix (akin to the leaked demo) would've been a genius move.

Something clearly went on behind the scenes with them. Putting out the original would have made me wet with excitement - from the moment I heard it I could imagine it ending her tour in a big way. It’s the most Madonna song of the entire project and it isn’t even bloody released

She should've just released the song when the demo leaked, would've been top 10 in major markets.

I enjoy both versions of Rebel Heart a lot, but I'm not convinced that the demo version would've been a hit, even if it sounds like one.

For me the demo version just sounds like an instant hit in the same way Hung Up does. Though I do think the original version needed a bridge or something in the middle, but I’ll take what I can get (which clearly was nothing)

It’s sounded like an instant Madonna classic and the most obvious Madonna classic since Hung Up, which would have held its own with Hung Up, Music and ROL.

Very 90s-sounding but not very Madonna-sounding. I actually think that the final version is far more Madonna-sounding by removing all the 90s elements. It's funny that songs like "Iconic" or even "I'm Addicted" from "MDNA" sound like the 90s songs Madonna forgot to record in the 90s lol.

This album is so good! It should've 5 or more singles like ROL and Erotica albums
