So I plan to buy all of her albums because I really dig her at the moment (thanks to "EL DORADO", "ME ENAMORÉ" is my summer hit 2017 tbh1).
Which album should I buy first?

Albums I own already: SHE WOLF, SALE EL SOL, LIVE IN PARIS, EL DORADO and GRANDES EXITOS.

And what is it with her first two albums... I read they are out of print because she despises the lyrics etc.

I already know "Whenever, Wherever" (of course.. ) and "Underneath Your Clothes", however the album version of the latter sounds pretty flat to me  I enjoy the "Live In Paris" version much more. Maybe I need to listen to the studio version more, though.
I also know "Tango" or whatever that song is called (+ its Spanish version as it is included on GRANDES EXITOS).

So yeah, that'll be my next SHAKIRA record. 8-)

NPR: 150 GREATEST ALBUMS MADE BY WOMEN

95. Shakira
¿Dónde Están los Ladrones? (Sony, 1998)

Shakira's luggage was once stolen at the airport in Bogotá, Colombia. The loss, which included a trove of lyrics in one of the suitcases, left her devastated and shook. But the incident also fueled the inspiration for what would be her next album, ¿Dónde Están los Ladrones? (its title means "where are the thieves?"). While it's in partially inspired by the robbery, the album hints towards the political corruption and mistrust Colombian society held towards their own government. As a follow up to her success with Pies Descalzos, Shakira produced every song on her fourth studio record while experimenting with new pop and rock arrangements. She certainly made the most of a bad situation: The imaginative songs of ¿Dónde Están los Ladrones?, brimming with Shakira's witty and brutally honest wordplay, cemented her place in the alternative Latin rock canon. Some Shakira fans see this album as her last piece of work in this genre before crossing over into the English-speaking market with her following record Laundry Service, which ignited cultural conversations about Shakira's authenticity. Yet as a half-Colombiana half Salvadoreña young girl, I never saw other young mujeres from my countries in the media doing what they loved. Shakira, and this album, represented embracing my "otherness" and owning it unapologetically. —Jessica Diaz-Hurtado (NPR Staff)

Te Dejo Madrid is another of my faves. Such a great song.

''Eyes like Yours" (Ojos asi) is one of the best songs of her
repertoire. This performance in China/2011 is amazing:

What the hell is Shakira doing with this era? She has 3 strong potential singles in her hands : Perro Fiel, Trap and Nada. During the Sale El Sol era, she decided to release the smash "Rabiosa" after the flopped ballad " Sale E l Sol". It seems she already has 2 video singles in her her hands right now, since during her next tour she couldn't do them. I hope Nada to be a single , even if is a video like the live video she released to "Antes de Las Seis" (at least) !!! I

She's destroying her career last 8 years...
Her visual performances and tour just became boring... and not attractive anymore.
Her track lists of albums are so silly to see...

She Wolf was great with only 9 songs + 3 bounus spanish songs (I can deal with that)

I don't want her to do spanglish albums anymore, cuz it's mess.

Sale el Sol was great too, it was nice 11 track album, i hate Waka Waka tough...

Her self titled album was so bad and weak... Dare destroyed that album for me.

This new El Dorado I haven't even listened to, I just can't...

When I see million spanish songs, and million versions of that songs on English... I hate that.

I would love to see her releasing proper English and proper Spanish album, no matter if there's only 9 or 10 songs. I'm fine with that,

But the main problem is that she's not bringing it anymore with promotion, with visuals... no one even knows she has an album out there.

It's great to know still that she's still such a power, especially on YouTube.

She's now getting happiness from her family, her children and her humanitarian work.
When she speaks about education, Gerard Piqué or her new life she emanates light and her gestures tell us about how glad she is with that. (Even when I think she has been soooooooooo depressed the last years and she's trying too much)

She doesn't care anymore to be a #1 star, she made so much in her career and achieved a lot of things that no any other latin artist get before. She's making easy money and of course the music isn't her priority anymore. Sad for us.

Uh, and whatever she does the Anglo public isn't here for Shakira anyway. (And for any female artist not called Adele/Taylor  )

Ummmm

That's cute, but I disagree with that 30 sexiest videos list.

If any Shakira song should make it on there, it would be "La Tortura".

Where are "She Wolf"? Whenever, Wherever"? "Don't Bother"? "Chantaje"?

Every video from Shakira is sexy as hell... So, it's pretty hard to make a good choice!

^ I agree. But something about La Tortura is SO sexy. I have always loved that video. It is sexy in a beautiful, exotic, guilty way.
