Got an email from Mute that they plan on reissuing Felt Mountain, Black Cherry, Supernature and Seventh Tree on vinyl later this year (after I wrote them and suggested putting them back in print given the ridiculous Amazon/ebay prices).

yes. These albums sell for $200-300... ridiculous. Funny thing is, Seventh Tree was still $15-20 when I started collecting but figured it'd stay around... it didn't. Head First and Tales Of Us I got for good prices at least

I have the Tales of Us, Head First and the Seventh Tree vinyl. I wanted to get the Supernature vinyl a couple years ago and what you're saying is true! Man, those prices! It's just ridiculous! :o

For some reason Goldfrapp is growing on me more and more.

My favourite albums (for now) are Head First (perfect for in the car, I love the 'retro' feel it has in some songs), Tales of Us, Seventh Tree (Awesome record! This music fits her voice the best). Yesterday I listened to Felt Mountain for the first time (I know I'm late) and Oh my... S-L-A-Y-E-D...

Now I heard all her albums lol. Black Cherry is my least favourite for now, but it could grow on me.

They are :). Why is head first so unpopular among the fans of Goldrapp? The music feels a bit lighter and more fluffy but it's still F good.

I think it's because it has a really commercial sound, I really like it tbh, the title track is so romantic and lush.

People just don't understand it's a homage to the kitchy sound of the 80s  And a darn good one at that! It's not like they ''sold out'' and made a duet with Pitbull or something, the album still has that dreamy quality of their other stuff.

Exactly, it still has the Goldfrapp touch! Head First is underrated!

Bring on that next masterpiece!

Although I like Head First, I wasn't very keen on it when I first listened to it.

With their previous releases it always felt like they were setting trends but since the Head First sound was so common (80's electronica) around the time it felt like they were following trends. But recently I listened to it again and I agree that it sounds warm and fluffy. Like cotton clouds or something haha! The music is definitely high quality but for me it was the timing of the release.

Goldfrapp have actually stated in multiple interviews that they don't really like Head First and that EMI pushed them to have a more commercial sound and that the songs on Head First would maybe better for other artists instead for them as Goldfrapp.

I actually quite enjoy Head First, but I feel the album tracks are superior to the singles (e.g Dreaming).

Nothing compares to the perfection, that is of Tales of Us. One of my favourite albums actually.

How would you rate their albums?

1. Tales of Us (best)
2. Seventh Tree
3. Head First
4. Black Cherry
5. Supernature
6. Felt Mountain

Head First is so underrated. Tales of Us is kinda overrated imo, in theory I should like it because it's like a combo of Felt Mountain and Seventh Tree which I love, but it sounds so dull to me (most of it anyways). I only use Annabel and Stranger

I would rate their albums something like this:

1. Felt Mountain
2. Supernature
3. Black Cherry
4. Seventh Tree
5. Head First
6. Tales of Us

I do like all of them and I feel like number 2,3,4 are interchangeable. I first discovered Supernature and then began listening to their back catalogue. I remember biking to school and blasting Strict Machine & Train. Moreover, I feel like Seventh Tree is an album for those early spring mornings.

Felt Mountain is just their absolute best for me, so cinematic and weird.

As for the bottom albums, I do like them but it's just not up there with their best work. I listened to Tales Of Us a couple of times, but the songs don't stick with me except for Annabel, Stranger & Drew. And y'all know my opinion of Head First ;)

Head First the song is so lush and romantic, great track. 8-) I like the whole album, "I Wanna Life" falls a bit flat though.
