Rumors have been circulating for awhile about a potential return of Funny Girl, but the latest rumor is that it could involve Lady Gaga and Rosie O'Donnell.
Brian O'Keefe recently tweeted that, at Randy Rainbow's show, Rosie O'Donnell said a Broadway revival of the classic musical is in the works, starring Lady Gaga, and featuring Rosie herself as the mother.
There has been no confirmation of any of this information at this time.
Read the tweet below:
Rosie O'Donnell just said on stage that Lady Gaga will play Funny Girl on Broadway and she'll play her mother.
- BRIAN O'KEEFE (@BOKABC) October 7, 2018
With music by Jule Styne, lyrics by Bob Merrill and book by Isobel Lennart, Funny Girl was a Broadway smash which skyrocketed Barbra Streisand to stardom. The show follows Fanny Brice, who rose from the Lower East Side of New York to become one of Broadway's biggest stars under producer Florenz Ziegfield. While she was cheered onstage as a great comedienne, offstage she faced a doomed relationship with the man she loved. The score features now-classic songs such as "People", "You Are Woman, I Am Man" and "Don't Rain on My Parade."

Legendary singer Barbra Streisand doesn’t care if a number of people, including a plethora of fans, get turned off with her new anti-Trump album, Walls, according to the New York Times.

In a wide-ranging interview with the publication, Streisand talked about her album as the midterms, which could potentially decide the next course in American national politics, loom. The “Evergreen” singer, known for being openly Democratic and anti-Trump, said that she had been hurt by the way American discourse had been allowed to be “defiled” by Trump.

Admitting that she was an American citizen first and then an artist, Streisand said that she felt it her duty to come out with a political album. “Truth has always worked for me, so to see the truth defiled every day is very, very painful for me. I only can do what I can do. I probably will turn a lot of people off,” the singer said.

Throughout Oscar history a dozen men have directed themselves to Best Actor nominations but no women has done the equivalent. Barbra Streisand probably came the closest, but her acting and directing of “Yentl” and “The Prince of Tides” were infamously overlooked.

Loved her Carpool Karaoke - it’s nice to see her being so relaxed. Her voice is still good (obviously not as great as it used to be) for her age.

Her technique and power are very much still there, but her singing voice itself has dropped incredibly low. But you know, she’s 75 - at least she’s still going. Find me a woman whose voice hasn’t dropped off at that point... Cher’s has and so has Debbie’s.

My husband is a big fan. So we have all her films on DVD or VHS.
I haven't seen all of them though.

Barbra Streisand and Guillermo del Toro have joined over 40,000 signatures on a petition to save classic and cult film treasure trove FilmStruck. The subscription-streaming service, which contained over 1,800 contemporary and classic arthouse, indie, and foreign films, announced its imminent closure on Oct. 26 much to the dismay of film junkies everywhere — and now, it seems, a handful of Hollywood stars.

You can really hear the cracks in her voice but it doesn't sound horrible. I just watched her latest live DVD and she still has that stage presence. She is still singing 100% live which most divas younger than her can't do.

I really need to give Walls another spin, at first it all sounded a bit samey and there's really no true standout in there, maybe I was not paying enough attention /that's a nice way to say I was falling asleep. She can still sing better than most new girls though

Walls is the best she has sounded since What Matters Most from 2011. She is belting out notes that gave me chills! Her voice is raspier in the mid to low range now.. but I’m going to be honest, I quite enjoy it!

Walls deserves another listen! There are some great vocal moments! Put it on while doing stuff around the house.. you’ll find yourself loving it I’m sure!
