It was just released and is starting to make its debut on some charts right now, so we can't say it yet. But i would be surprised if this sells more, because their hype is gone and sales overall are down a lot compared to back when "Humanoid" was released.
that's sad :( I thought it was good since on the itunes chart they were 1st on 27 countries I think, thank you for answering!

What was "Humanoid"'s drop?
A very good question... 1-25! That drop made headlines back then  .

This time the drop will probably be way higher... I think they can be happy if they stay inside the Top 40...

Thanks for posting. Glad the album got the #2 spot. Do you already know if "Girl Got A Gun" made a debut as well?

Oh and i'm a little bit disappointed by the single. I know it was discounted the whole time, but i still expected more...

It seems people just don't want to buy the song (or they don't know it). It's #39 on itunes at the moment despite beeing "brand new" and still sold for only 69 cent while other songs like "Stay With Me" or "Break Free" easily jumped back into the Top 10/Top 20 when their price is reduced to 69 cent.

^ well i guess we have to wait and see how it will do in the upcoming weeks. Maybe it will start to fall even more, or the radio supports it more and more and it will increase again or at least stabilize again.

I just can reply to my own question: "Girl Got A Gun" don't make a debut on the german singles charts this week :(

Quite ironic they're not inside the Youth Top 50...

^ I think the same! I'm pretty sure this can do better than "Humanoid" did, even if it won't reach the top...

I don't remember the full chart-run of Humanoid, but to be fair, the total amount of weeks spent in the Top-100 (17) was actually okay by those as well as nowadays' standards. Even for a no.1 album. KOS would be yet to attract a much larger audience in order to beat that.

In the old days they would probably have a Top 20 hit now, but due to the inclusion of streaming I support the revenue rule...

Even top 20 would be bad though, just have a look at their previous peaks:
Durch den Monsun - 1
Schrei - 5
Rette mich - 1
Der letzte Tag - 1
Übers Ende der Welt - 1
Spring nicht - 3
An deiner Seite (Ich bin da) - 2
Automatisch - 5

For a big comeback single, No. 38 is a very disappointing peak and it's not like streaming was the only reason it hasn't reached the top 5 so far...

No chance it will be in the Top 40 Album Charts next week in Germany, i expect a drop from #2 to at least #41! I give them 4 weeks in the Top 100. Mark my words.

If I remember right, "Automatisch" only managed to reach the Top 5 because of high physical sales.

Since the peak is the main thing that matters for singles, I don't think the reason why it charted this high plays a major role... As long as it's not due to a dubious promotion (extreme discount or anything) or the single experiencing an extreme freefall afterwards...

Definitely! Though it's more important in certain places (UK!!!) than in others (e.g. the US). That's the reason why acts hold back their releases in Germany and especially the UK, that enables a single to reach a higher peak...

If a single's peak is high, labels love to mention that; it's harder to foreground a single that peaked low-ish but had great longevity (labels also do that but far less frequently).

Of course the peak isn't more important than sales. A high peak is GREAT, and looks nice, but no label would choose a #1 single that sells 200k over a #10 single that sells 600k, because the latter brings in more money AND brings in more album sales.
