Those 'sales' look very inflated to me. US and UK barely add up to 450k, so where does the other half come from? Venus?
I agree with you :D

811k definitely isn't conservative as far as I'm concerned.

Just US, UK, Canada, Brazil, Japan add 570k.

Australia and New Zealand add another 25k.

Germany, France and Italy add around 50k.

165k left...

Then you have the rest of Europe.

It's been inside Top 20 in Argentina since its release. Same in Mexico.

Then you have rest of South America.

Doing great in other small markets in Asia where we got charts, like Taiwan or Hong Kong.

Actually, imo, 811k is a bit conservative.
.
it really puzzles me how standards change from artist to artist.
Back in the Rebel Heart days ,you were the one to discredit eaxh and every single poster who brought up countries from Latin America and or Asia in order to help justifying Mediatraffic's numbers for the album.
But now you say Gaga's been top 20 in Argentina(lol) " and then you have the rest of Latin America", and not only thats enough to reach the "missing numbers" but 811k is considered "conservative".
Again, according to yourself, that region (Latin America) sells irrelevant ammounts of albums. You used to say the same about Asia.
But now,all these irrelevant countries are important and they actually can add up to 165k :o . even tho if you add numbers from three big markets (Ger,Fra and Italy) -only as a comparison- you only get to 50k.
Guess Latin America,Taiwan,Hong Kong ,etc, are no longet irrelevant.
Again, very interesting ... To say the least. Lol

I don't know where do you take your figures from... But those countries add, at least, 175k.
UK's and Canada's sales are SPS, while Brazil's are shipments. Mediatraffic claims to report pure hard sales though.

Those are probably more like 370k US + 70k UK + 40k Japan + 25k Germany + 20k France + 30k Canada + 30k Brazil + 25k Oceania + x (smaller markets) = 610k + x

Just some weeks ago it was announced that the album had sold 12K in France. Has it sold 8K additional units ever since?

It's funny that some people here believe in Mediatraffic numbers when it comes to their faves (Britney, Madonna) but don't believe when it comes to Lady Gaga

It's the other way around. nympho is always in Madonna and Britney threads claiming Mediatraffic is inflating their sales and creating silly arguments over 2k sales (and sometimes less), but when someone points out that Mediatraffic is inflating Gaga's sales (which is clear they are), there's a million excuses.

Those were rounded Sales up to Joanne 7th week.

Last week #134 sold 1,635 copies.
So probably 2,500 for her.

According to Charts in France, up to week 51, Joanne total was 17,400.

http://www.chartsinfrance.net/communaut ... 16/page-42

So, yes, close to 20k with week 52.

Excuses? I'm giving my estimations and doing my breakdown... Just as valid as the one from Mediatraffic or any other user estimation, as none of them is official.

At least I don't take what others say and take it as the Bible without questioning. I make my own estimations every week and sometimes I agree with MT numbers and sometimes I don't. My total for Joanne is actually 15k higher.

The only thing clear is that when albums are out of every single chart for weeks, and not even Top 500 on iTunes on any big country, adding 5k or 7k copies every week is hilarious.
And maybe those 3k extra copies are not important one week... but week after week... it can make a big amount. Actually around 20% of the supposed total.
And yes, he only does that with certain artists... for the others, once they're out of charts, the updates stop.

If there comes a day when "Joanne" is out of every single chart for months and not even Top 500 on any iTunes and yet Mediatraffic keeps adding 5-7k copies every week for months, don't worry, I'll say I don't believe those sales either.

AUSRTRALIA
38 (38) 11 Joanne

Artpop stayed 13 weeks on Top 100 (10 of them inside Top 50).
Joanne has already stayed 11 weeks on Top 100 (10 of them inside Top 50), so it seems that it will clearly outchart Artpop there.

MR is up three to #30 on the Digital Tracks chart, so probably it has climbed as well on the overall singles chart (#61 last week). We'll know exactly where tomorrow.

Still a month to go for Super Bowl. I say she should either perform MR in one or two tv shows or move on to the third single in US with the video released in time for SB exposure.

Totally agree with this. She needs to move on from MR...
It's January radios may more be eager to play a fresh song like "A-Yo" or "Dancin' In Circles".

Dancin in circles could work ...
It's something realy new and fresh ...

But overall, I'm impressed how good this album performs despite having a real hit :o
It's charting in nearly every country since the release.
It's not TFM or BTW but to be honest: I thougt it would perfom much worse
