so in short we got:

660,300 - Glitter
126,307 - Me. I am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse
71,313 - Playlist: The Very Best Of

Wow at Playlist. It could have a higher total than #1 to infinity... But I am sure Infinity has sold over 50k as well now.

Hard to imagine that E=MC² sold more in its first day of release than MIAM has sold SINCE 2014. 8-)

Pure speculation here but i know the movie was recently released on Hulu.

Mariah needs to put Glitter on streaming platforms.

Imagine Memoirs getting re-certified... Mariah would then have:

15 Platinum albums: 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2001, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2008, 2009?

I think Glitter was one of a few soundtracks added to a discounted soundtrack banner on iTunes.

it is a cult classic. I bet it has sold more copies in 2018 than for example Butterfly... it is quite strange, but so be it.

The reason Glitter is a high seller amongst her discog, having even larger YTD than albums like Daydream is because it is NOT available on any streaming services. The way most of the public consumes music now, especially if you're an R&B artist. It's her only release not on streaming.

With the numbers given, these are her to date audio streams for each album:
Daydream - 192,975,000
Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel - 71,769,000
Music Box - 63,511,500
Elusive Chanteuse - 57,865,500
Glitter - 97,500

Elusive having less streams than Memoirs is truly shocking, since they both only had 1 moderate hit but Elusive's hit is way more recent and was actually when streaming began to take off. I thought it'd atleast have decent streams to make up for the non-existent recurrent sales.

Daydream's audio streaming is very impressive.

Daydream - 192,975,000
Jagged Little Pill - 169,078,500
...Baby One More Time - 107,304,000

Out trailing two iconic female albums from the 90s that outsold it. This shows it's holding up with the public these days.

Audio streaming is a bigger gauge for her measuring her discography's memorability than sales in 2018.

Can someone explain to me how they are doing the streaming calculation?

Daydream is very impressive, it's essentially a greatest hits album though. What a tracklist!

ALBUMS W/TEA W/SEA ON-DEMAND AUDIO = total streams from audio services. (Spotify, Apple Music, etc)
ALBUMS W/TEA W/SEA ON-DEMAND = total streams from audio services & YouTube.

The first one is what Billboard uses for SPS. The second is one that counts towards RIAA.

However Nielsen counts all video streams with audio (so a 30 second video of you dancing to the song would count). RIAA only counts official label-uploads (music videos, etc on VEVO basically).

So it's:

ALBUMS W/TEA W/SEA ON-DEMAND AUDIO 8,101,339 minus ALBUMS W/TEA 7,972,689 multiplied by 1,500

I’m interested in seeing Merry Christmas & Emancipation’s Numbers. They’re probably going to join Daydream in her top 3 recurrent albums in audio streaming.

Any source for that?
I really doubt Nielsen/Soundscan is counting user generated videos... That would mean MILLIONS more of views, and the figures we're seeing with video streams seems pretty much accurate with only official videos figures.
And I guess RIAA is using Soundscan data for their certifications.

Because albums like Glitter have no music videos or anything uploaded on VEVO or any official page yet they have video streams counting towards their total.

Well, Glitter has only 3,473 copies from Video Streaming….
That is 5.2 million in US.

Just two versions of the "Loverboy" music video (album version and remix) uploaded to YouTube from unofficial channels have 140 million. Just with those two. Add dozens and dozens of other YouTube videos with the song, plus all the other singles and songs on the album... Probably more than 300 million on YouTube.

Obviously more than 5 million of those would come from US.

So your theory is wrong.

Soundscan counts other video platforms apart from Youtube/Vevo... and maybe they're not uploaded now (or even those video webs closed) but they were in the past.
