SNL effect. Not too much, but at least it helped. Otherwise it would have probably dropped out of chart.

God. I never thought a Miley album would fail to even make it to 100k when all is said and done?

Tragic but not surprising as Miley seems to care more about the Voice than her music career. Even Can't Be Tamed did better.

Yep. Even if she was doing what Christina did during the Lotus era and used the voice to promote the record with various performances of 3 or 4 songs from the record it wouldnt be too bad and would shift a few more copies but she’s not even doing that.

It's shocking how one bad single, and terrible choice for a single to lead the album can end an era, and an album.
Honestly i don't see her coming back from this.

I supported her change, Malibu was organic change, but she forced album so it could be released for Grammys. She was already over it and not intersted in it before she even released. If she put more energy into it it couldve been much better album and era.

Miley also confirmed there won't be more singles from "Younger now" and that she won't tour with the album either.

I guess out of BB200 tomorrow, after only 6 weeks and 52k copies. (What’s the SPS total, around 80k?)

This has to be, without a doubt, in the Top 3 of the biggest flops by female pop stars ever and one of the biggest sales decline from one album to the next one (it has sold like 4% of Bangerz in US).

This is definately one of the biggest flops by a "major diva" in the industry, and I say "major" because Miley's last album "Bangerz" went Platinum in pure sales, got one of the biggest openings of the year for a female, got Grammy nominated, pulled huge streaming numbers and got a huge #1 hit single. . . And now this.

From 2 million pure sales WW with "Bangerz" to 70K-90K? pure sales WW with "Younger Now".

I get that she changed her style but even still the failure was too extreme.

"Younger Now" (album) certified GOLD in Canada:

November 14, 2017
GOLD ALBUM(S)
Miley Cyrus
Younger Now
Rca Records
Despite this terrible chart run: 3-22-35-55-85-80-out, just like RIAA, in Canada TEA and SEA (also before album release) are counted for album certifications. So "Malibu" being 2xPlatinum in Canada is definitely the biggest and main reason for the album to be certified Gold.

That for me is the most eye-opening bit.

It's almost as bad as Nelly Furtado.

I expected more, especially after her success with "Malibu" :o Maybe her team waited too long to release the album, furthermore she didn't promote "Younger Now" that hard. Most of her performances were during the spring or summer for "Malibu".

I think Malibu was fine as a lead single. It sold well with sales of over 4 million so clearly there was some interest in the new Miley material. The reason Younger Now flopped was the terrible decision making after the release of Malibu. Firstly, Younger Now, although a great song shouldn't have been released as the second single. A more upbeat song such as Thinking or Bad Mood should have been the second single to keep the interest alive for the album.

Secondly, there was too much time between the release of Malibu and the album. The hype for the album was pretty much over by the time it was released. There was four & half months between the lead single release and the album released. Malibu was released in mid May so the album, Younger Now should have been out by mid July. Releasing at the end of September was a suicidal thing to do.

Also, it doesn't help that Miley has already given up on this album and doesn't seem to be promoting it any longer. She seems more concerned with the Voice than her music career and it's sad to see. Hope she bounces back with her next album.
