Just Clicked on the You Tube link, from Universal for the The Waterloo, 360 video from MM2, kept the volume muted LOL.

just wanted to see how many hits it had received, and I was not surprised to see, that literally hundreds of people are agreeing with the posts, that say this version is awful!! spoiled by the guys vocals, I think it's not only that he can't sing, but more the fake plummy accent he is using,

Maybe when we see his character it might be more acceptable, but it still hurts on the ears,.. then we have 'When I kissed the Teacher', song being turned into a lebonese camp fest, What ever possessed B&B to allow their songs to be used in such a trite way..

Can you provide info for Correct Year End Charts to Dec 31 each year.

I have only seen the updated 1980 one which has Super Trouper the single up from 28 to 4 and the LP from 4 to 1.

The Winner Takes it All drops 16 to 18

Nameless -- I'll see what I can find as regards UK Year End Singles and Albums Chart that also add in the final few
Weeks of the Year.

I do know that for 1977 the incomplete Annual Chart has 'Knowing Me, Knowing You' in 5th place and
'The Name Of The Game' was 18th. When the whole Year was added in, they were 6th & 16th.

For 1978 'Take A Chance On Me' fell from 7th to 9th place.

'FERNANDO' FROM 'MAMMA MIA! 2'

Today Universal have added the Audio Video of 'Mamma Mia! 2's 'Fernando' to You Tube.

It is sung by Ruby, (Cher), and Fernando, (Andy Garcia). It is a vast improvement on 'Waterloo'
from the Film, which Hugh Skinner has totally messed up, with his awful 'singing'.

It is hard to tell if Andy Garcia can sing, as his voice is so quiet compared to Cher's...

They still have "since many years"
#Grammarpolice

Zeus555

On Wikipedia they have Year End Charts in their British Music Year
sections. 1979 is the only one without the full year. Obviously I Have A Dream would have featured if it had.

Nameless -- someone, (who used to work for BBC Radio), gave me up=dated - entire Year - Annual UK Singles Lists for
both 1979 and 1981. He gave them to me several Years ago.

1)... In 1979 the BMRB Annual List did not have either 'Another Brick In The Wall' or 'I Have A Dream' in it.

2)... When the final 3 Weeks of 1979 were added in, 'Another Brick In The Wall' was 5th and 'I Have A Dream' was 25th.
'Chiquitita' fell from No.16 to No.17. 'Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!' fell from No.28 to No.31.

3)... The BMRB List for 1981 did not have 'One Of Us' in it. When the final 3 Weeks were added in, that ABBA Single was 28th.

In 1981 I expect The Visitors was Top 5

Nameless -- When the last 3 Weeks of 1979 were added in 'Greatest Hits Vol. 2' rose from 8th to 3rd place. 'Voulez Vous'
fell from 5th to 7th place. 'Greatest Hits' by Rod Stewart rose from 11th to 5th place.

When the final 3 Weeks of 1980 were added in, 'Super Trouper' rose from 4th to 1st place and 'Greatest Hits Vol. 2' fell
from 16th to 17th place,

The full BMRB UK Album Best Sellers for 1981 were published in January 1982. 'The Visitors' rose from 80th to 17th place
and 'Super Trouper' fell from 37th to 40th place.

In early 1983, the full Year UK Best Selling Albums of 1982 List was published. 'The Singles - The First Ten Years' rose from
36th to 25th place. 'The Visitors' fell from 50th to 55th place.

I was surprised The Visitors on ly #17 for the year and The Singles at #25. A sharo fall from Super Trouper being top seller if 1980.

The Visitors Year End Chart positions are not very impressive.

I would estimate ABBA's Number One LPs in the UK to have the following sales during their chart run

Greatest Hits - 2, 500 000
Arrival - 1, 500,000
The Album - 1,000,000
Voulez Vous - 750,000
Greatest Hits Vol 2 - 1, 200,000
Super Trouper - 1,100,000
The Visitors - 600,000
The Singles - 500,000

These figures seem plausible?

Very much a downward trend.

I guess many people who bought GH only liked a few songs - Waterloo, SOS, Mamma Mia and Fernando.

And many who bought Arrival only liked the singles Dancibg Queen and Knowing Me Knowing You and to a lesser extent Money x3

I guess up to that point ABBA were a singles band. Shame as they became better at studio albums from The Album onwards.

Nameless -- I know the UK Advance Orders, (also called Advance Sales), of several ABBA Albums:

A)... 'Arrival' -- 300,000

B)... 'The Album' -- 500,000

C)... 'Voulez-Vous' -- 400,000

D)... 'Greatest Hits Vol. 2' -- 600,000

E)... 'Super Trouper' --- 1,000,000 -- (It rose from 900,000 to 1 Million in the Week before release)

F)... 'The Visitors' -- 700,000

G)... 'The Singles - The First Ten Years' -- 250,000

ABBA lost a lot of UK interest between 'Super Trouper' and 'The Visitors', because they took over a Year
to release a New Single. From 'Super Trouper', (November 1980), to 'One Of Us', (December 1981). A lot
of Fans had turned away, by the time 'The Visitors' Album was finally released...

1)... The reason why the 'Mamma Mia! 1' Soundtrack is in at No.15 in the UK Vinyl Album Chart is because Universal
released a Double Album Picture Disk of it on Saturday June 16th. However, it is only available at HMV and there
are only 1,000 copies of it.

2)... There is still no sign of the full Track List for 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again'. We know that the Film has around 22 to
25 ABBA Songs ib it. That 18 of them are on the Soundtrack CD. But, we are only told 3 of the Soundtrack CD Songs - so far -
'When I Kissed The Teacher', 'Waterloo' and 'Fernando'. The Soundtrack is released on Friday 13th July. The World Premiere
is in London on Monday 16th July, so Universal are leaving it rather late to reveal the full Track List for both the Film and the
Soundtrack CD.

3)... Apart from its CD release, on Friday 13th July, the 'Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again' Soundtrack will also be released as a
Double Vinyl Album, on Friday 24th August - 6 Weeks later.

4)... It looks like Universal see no point in releasing a 'New' ABBA Compiation, to 'cash in' o 'Mamma Mia! 2'. They would want
to include the 2 New ABBA Singles on it, but 'I Still Have Faith In You' is not out until December and 'Don't Shut Me Down' is
not out until at least March to June 2019. So, they'd only have to release a 2019 ABBA Compilation - to include them - if they
released one to 'cash in' on 'Mamma Mia! 2'. That's why there won't be one this Year...

5)... So far, it looks like France are the only Country getting an ABBA Compilation, to 'cash in' on the Film. Even that is just
a re-issue of 1996's 'Forever Gold' in an attractive new cover. Which means just 'Gold' + 'More Gold' as a Double CD. Which
also means that several 'Mamma Mia! 2' Songs are not on it - 'As Good As New', 'If It Wasn't For The Nights', 'Kisses Of Fire',
'I've Been Waiting For You', 'My Love, My Life', 'Why Did It Have To Be Me?' and 'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room'.

6)... The French Double CD is out on Friday 13th July - the same day as the 'Mamma Mia! 2' Soundtrack. It is called 'Greatest Hits',
with 'Gold' + 'More Gold' Listed under 'ABBA'.

Some interesting information Colin/ zeus555 wrote a while ago regarding the UK pre-orders for albums:

zeus555 wrote:Until 1980, 'Beatles For Sale', (1964), by The Beatles had the UK's biggest Pre-Orders - 750,000.

That was not beaten until 1980, when 'Super Trouper' had 1 Million UK Pre-Orders. (Which was then beaten in 1984, by 'Welcome To The Pleasure Dome' - Frankie Goes To Hollywood - 1,150,000 Pre-Orders. The FGTH Pre-Orders have been beaten several times since 1984).

Benny -- Some say that 'Welcome To The Pleasure Dome', (FGTH - 1984), had 1,015,000 UK Advance Orders - not 1,150,000.
Other sources say 1,100,000 UK Advance Orders. There have been 3 Totals given out, over the Years. Either way, it over-took
'Super Trouper'. It was not as impressive in the UK Album Chart, though - 1 Week at No.1 to 'Super Trouper's 9 No.1 Weeks.

When 'Arrival' had 300,000 UK Advance Orders, it was claimed that they were the biggest for any UK Album, and that the
previous 'Record Holder' was 'The Singles - 1969 - 1973' by The Carpenters, (1973), which had 250,000. (Other sources said
that the previous 'Record Holder' was 'Greatest Hits' by Elton John, (1974), and that, that had 250,000 Advance Orders).
But, all 3 claims were wrong, as it was 'Beatles For Sale', (1964), that still held the UK 'Advance Orders' Record - 750,000.
ABBA did not beat that until late 1980 - when 'Super Trouper' became the 1st UK Album to have a Million Advance Orders.

I believe that '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?' - Oasis, (1995), had 1,250,000 UK Advance Orders. Their 'Be Here Now'
Album, (1997), had even bigger UK Advance Orders - 1,500,000. I'm not sure if they have been beaten since then. If they
have, it will most likely be by Adele's '25' and Ed Sheeran's 'Divide', from 2015 & 2017 respectively.

I guess that '25' by Adele, (2015), had the most UK Advance Orders. It sold over 800,000 in Week 1 - the biggest Weekly
Sale by any UK Album...

We will see how ABBA's 2 New Singles fare under the New UK 'Singles' Chart Rules, from July onwards.

Where You Tube Views count towards the 'Singles' Chart,

The 'Ratios' being - 100 Paid For Views = 1 Sale and 600 Free Views = 1 Sale.
