for AI, Platinum is 100k? cuz in 2004, P was 100k yet and I think that the certification is at the level of the the time the title was released (like in Germany)

if u have peaks or ur very nice estimations u do for other artists, but this time for Green Day, I'd appreciate ;)

Thanks for now!

The album was double platinum already in March, but it is not stated if it is at 160.000 or 200.000 copies :-?

certifications levels changed in January 2005, right?

as the album was released in September of 2004, I think 2x Platinum meant 200k, and so 4x Platinum = 400k, like in Germany... Gold used to be 250k until 10/1999, but now it's only 100k... and if an album released before 10/1999 is certified GOLD now, it means it shipped 250k and not 100k and I think it works the same way in all countries

So American Idiot is 3xPlatinum!I wrote 4 because today with 350.000 copies an album is 4xPlatinum(which is 320.000), but if it works like you said American Idiot is 3xPlatinum!

Why you wrote certifications if they are only translated sales and absolutely not official ? And they are not even translated sales because sales themselves are translated from year end charts which concerns in most only points... It's not the most accurate source for certifications

The result is that numbers here are not accurate too... According to yearly sales of 1995 (if they are true of course) Dookie sold 220k in this year alone. Considering that it's a long runner album it sold probably a minimum of 350k.

They are only minimun estimations(i know they're not official  ), since it's impossible to find precise sales! At least these albums sold that amount of copies, but they surely sold more but i don't have the exact number so i can't write it...that was just to give an idea of what was the minimum sales for these albums!"International superhits" is surely gold(which was 50.000)but i don't know if it sold 60.000, 70.000 or 80.000 copies!I find it hard to believe that Dookie already sold 220.000 copies at the beginning of 1995...usually in Italy albums starts to sell slowly! But if you say it...

Thanks you much for those numbers frankie!

like you said in the other message to MJ, those are like "mininum sales", they sold AT LEAST this... we can't even get precise sales for bigger markets like Germany, so I think minimum sales in Italy is already a great thing to get! :D

I'm adding the stats now to the thread, together with info from Spain provided by Davidalic!

1,039/SOSH's Soundscan is so low because it was reissued with a lot of bonus tracks in 2003 or 2004, so the 55k estimate likely is from the recent edition, because I'm sure the original CD sold considerably better than that seeing it was on Pop Catalog for a bit in the mid-90's when Green Day were having their initial successful period with Dookie.

Warning and American Idiot are both in definate need of recertification... funny how they've both scanned enough for another certification and nothing, but back in the day, albums would be certified way on top of themselves

Hopefully they're just waiting for AI to hit 6x Platinum and then they'll also give Platinum to "Warning" and Gold to "Bullet in a bible"

and in the UK they also seem to need some re-certifications. Both "Insomniac" and "Nimrod" could go at least GOLD I think (maybe even Platinum cuz they certainly scanned a good amount as catalog albums) - "Bullet in a bible" should also be Platinum. "International superhits" could go 2x Platinum I guess, "Shenanigans" at least Silver and "American Idiot" 5x Platinum.
