Although the UK Album Chart was a Top 100 from W/E 12th September 1992 to W/E 5th February 1994, The OCC only
have Top 75’s for that period. This means that ‘Greatest Hits’ loses 32 No.76 to No.100 Positions during that time.

'Greatest Hits' (One) -- Queen

Here are the 32 Top 100 Weeks that The OCC do not have for it:

1992

W/E 19th September – No.81
W/E 26th September – No.93
W/E 3rd October – No.85
W/E 10th October – No.86
W/E 24th October – No.80

1993

W/E 20th February – No.77
W/E 27th February – No.81
W/E 27th March – No.81
W/E 10th April – No.84
W/E 17th April – No.90
W/E 24th April – No.89
W/E 1st May – No.77
W/E 22nd May – No.87
W/E 10th July – No.85
W/E 17th July – No.97
W/E 24th July – No.82
W/E 31st July – No.89
W/E 7th August – No.80
W/E 18th September – No.76
W/E 25th September – No.95
W/E 9th October – No.98
W/E 23rd October – No.93
W/E 30th October – No.98
W/E 20th November – No.96
W/E 4th December – No.84
W/E 11th December – No.87
W/E 18th December – No.84
W/E 25th December – No.85

1994

W/E 1st January – No.83
W/E 8th January – No.82
W/E 22nd January – No.81
W/E 29th January – No.87

They also miss out a Top 75 Week for it on W/E 9th October 1982 - No.73.

They give it 7 Top 75 Weeks that belong to 'Greatest Hits I & II' in 1994.

They give it 789 Top 100 Weeks to W/E 14th September.

It should be - 789 - 7 = 782.

782 + 1 = 783.

783 + 32 = 815 Weeks

The OCC gives it 525 Top 75 Weeks. It should be 525 + 1 = 526 To 75 Weeks

526 Top 75 Weeks - 7 Top 75 Weeks = 519 Top 75 Weeks

The OCC give it these 7 Top 75 Weeks, which really belong to the 1994
Double CD 'Greatest Hits I & II':

W/E 19th November 1994 – 37-40-50-43-40-39-44

I made the following statement on a Queen forum today with regard to quite a few people pointing out the fact that 'Queen never cracked America'. Would be interested to see if people on this forum agreed with myself or the others?
I think the statement 'Queen never cracked America' is a bit of an urban myth, yes they never scaled the heights of Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Beatles or The Stones but in terms of record sales, ticket sales and especially influence they did very well indeed. In a football analysis I would say Queen were definitely a premier league team in America where as the other bands mentioned would be champions league.

Albums sales in excess of 45,000,000, 12 different Platinum Albums, the 22nd most certified band in American history (according to RIAA) plus 6 platinum selling singles would certainly quantify the fact that Queen most definitely cracked America

CSPC: Queen Popularity Analysis

MJDangerous wrote:
"Along with the ups and downs, among the Classic Rock groups Queen also never received the immaculate press that accompanied the likes of the Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. Their success isn’t rated nearly as high as them either, Queen are instead put alongside the likes of U2, the Eagles and AC/DC. Where do they really rank according to the facts? What are the biggest hits among all their golden tracks? Which albums are the most successful once the sales of compilations they generated are factored in?"

Fantastic analysis by MJD, I think his findings might surprise a few people, especially those that have dismissed Queen as a major artist. Well worth a look at and it confirms what we Queen fanatics have known for years.........they are Huge all over the world! :D
