Just as a comparison here are the recent boxscore figures for Lionel Richies Las Vegas residency. Arguably Lionel is a bigger star/attraction in the US than Queen so it will be interesting to see the figures of both to compare.

Lionel Richie
Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, Nev. Aug. 21-25, 2018
$1,114,591
9,483 / 11,855
3 / 0
$284, $200, $167, $127, $78
Caesars Entertainment/Live Nation

Lionel Richie
Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas, Nev. Aug. 15-18, 2018
$958,899
8,067 / 11,176
3 / 0
$284, $200, $167, $127, $78
Caesars Entertainment/Live Nation

So Lionel played 6 shows to an audience of 17,550 out of a possible 23,031 with a gross of $2,073,490. Although a slightly smaller venue than the Park Theatre it gives us an idea of how well the Queen shows sell. Initial reports seem to suggest the first 3 shows sold out, we will have to wait and see.

Queen to Release Previously Unheard Live Tracks on 'Bohemian Rhapsody' Original Soundtrack
By Starr Bowenbank | September 05, 2018

Queen has announced on Wednesday (Sept. 5) that they will release a series of unreleased live recordings from their legendary performance at Live Aid as part of the original soundtrack to Bohemian Rhapsody, the upcoming Queen biopic.

Recorded in July 1985 at the historic Wembley concert, the songs included on the soundtrack are rare tracks previously unheard of in the band's expansive catalog.

The soundtrack contains 22 songs, featuring the Live Aid recordings of "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Radio Ga Ga," "We Are the Champions" and others from the iconic show, in addition to refreshing new takes on old favorites. "Will Will Rock You" starts off as the original recording that fans will instantly recognize, before seamlessly transforming into a live performance that has members of the audience participating in the anthemic track. "Don't Stop Me Now" features a re-recorded guitar section from Brian May to resemble the way the band plays the track today.

Listeners will also be treated to Queen's unique rendition of the "20th Century Fox Fanfare," along with unreleased live tracks from performances that took place in London, Paris and Rio de Janiero.

The Bohemian Rhapsody Original Soundtrack will be released via Hollywood Records on Oct. 19, two weeks prior to the movie's Nov. 2 release date.
It will be interesting to see if the soundtrack finally gives Queen their 10th number 1 album in the UK. Also with what seems to be a real positive buzz about the Movie in America how will the soundtrack chart in the USA? This could be a really interesting period in Queen's amazing career.

The full tracklisting for Bohemian Rhapsody's Original Soundtrack is:

1. 20th Century Fox Fanfare 0:25
2. Somebody To Love 4:56
3. Doing All Right... revisited (Performed by Smile) 3:17
4. Keep Yourself Alive (Live At The Rainbow) 3:56
5. Killer Queen 2:59

8. Now I'm Here (Live At Hammersmith Odeon) 4:26
9. Crazy Little Thing Called Love 2:43
10. Love Of My Life (Rock In Rio) 4:29
11. We Will Rock You (Movie Mix) 2:09
12. Another One Bites The Dust 3:35
13. I Want To Break Free 3:43
14. Under Pressure (Performed by Queen & David Bowie) 4:04
15. Who Wants To Live Forever 5:15

Queen / Bohemian Rhapsody: The Original Soundtrack
http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/ ... oundtrack/
September 6, 2018 by Paul Sinclair

Live Aid performance issued for the first time ever on forthcoming soundtrack to Freddie Mercury biopic
Inevitably, a soundtrack to the new Queen / Freddie Mercury feature film Bohemian Rhapsody was always going to be released, but Hollywood Records have scored something of a coup, by managing to license the audio of the band’s classic performance at Live Aid and effectively make it a ‘must buy’ for fans.

As well as five tracks performed at the legendary July 1985 concert Bohemian Rhapsody includes other rare live tracks and ‘movie mixes’ of some songs. In case you are wondering this features “all-original Queen recordings and vocals”.

This soundtrack is issued on CD on 19 October although the gatefold 2LP vinyl is an age away, with a release slated for February or March 2019. A special clear cassette edition is also being made available at HMV and independent record shops. The film gets its world premiere in the UK on 23 October.

My apologies for not posting these figures sooner. Life has been so busy and I am finally able to catch up on work that I have been putting off.

5/26/18 Billboard's Catalog Album Sales

39. Greatest Hits - Queen 1,683 6,766,650 8xP

43. Greatest Hits I II & III: The Platinum Collection - Queen 1,189,374 2xP

SoundScan lowered its totals for album released prior to 1993. They are only counting sales from 1993 until today. It's so disappointing. I have no idea why.

oldbloke is using this figure for Queen's GH album:

GREATEST HITS - Queen ( 7,479,000 )

I'm still gunning for 300 million dollars plus worldwide for the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' movie. Thoughts anyone?

Not sure if you have seen the article below from Variety, but there predicting a $30million opening weekend in the USA. My Initial thoughts were for a $100million gross worldwide but it looks likely it might be more inline with your prediction, hope so!

https://variety.com/2018/film/box-office/box-office-bohemian-rhapsody-opening-weekend-1202977060/

On one of the Queen forums someone posted these predictions, would be amazing if the movie grossed anywhere near this!
US opening weekend: $30-$35 million
US total: $90-$110 million
Outside US: $270-$350 million (UK: $75-$85 million)
Total Worldwide: $360-$460 million

With the interest from the film, hopefully this forum will become more active very soon. This could create the sort of interest in Queen that happened when Freddie sadly died. No idea how the soundtrack will sell but it would be amazing to see Queen get another No1 album in the UK (Top5 at least) and perhaps a Top10 album in America.

Hopefully, we might here more from Hernan, Edwood, Borderwolf, Zeus555, theBigman and Lawyeris who have all contributed massively to this topic. Could be another huge year in the history of Queen.

Top 10 album in USA - that would be amazing...
If this soundtrack wouldn't top UK charts - I'll be disappointed very much...
I hope for 400-500 million gross in the world, but those predictions would be more accurate after first weekend, or first week of demonstration.
I wonder if this soundtrack would be credited as Queen album or just soundtrack of the motion picture? i predict that Queen album the same way as Flash Gordon.

I love little statistics like this that crop up from time to time, for some bizarre reason Queen are doing extremely well on the Moldovan iTunes chart. I know this equates to about 4 sales but it pleases me! :D

Moldova
iTunes:
1. We Will Rock You
2. Bicycle Race
3. Fat Bottomed Girls
16. We Are the Champions
20. Under Pressure

and even more strange

Slovenia
iTunes:
#1 Album: Queen (1st Album)

It seems the promotion for the film is starting to make an impact, Queen are currently No47 on the iTunes Global Digital Artist Ranking, the highest they have been since the first trailer previewed.

10/19/2018 by Keith Caulfield

The album also is goosed from general promotion around the biopic film about the band, Bohemian Rhapsody, due out in theaters in Nov. 2. (Panic!’s performance was introduced by three cast members of the movie, including Rami Malek, who plays Queen’s former front man, Freddie Mercury.)

What does it mean "total activity" (first number) and the second number - "album"?
Is this in USA Billboard chart?
