....Bohemian Rapsody (watch the video review) that crumbles the competition and scores a 1.7 million euro Saturday with over 220 thousand spectators. The film could pass the 5 million already today: the Italian market has aligned itself with the other world, rewarding the film, which has exceeded 500 million dollars and could close with over 700 million euros.

Box Office Italia del 1/12/2018
1. Bohemian Rhapsody: Euro 1.737.104
2. Il Grinch: Euro 621.388
4. Animali Fantastici - I Crimini di Grindelwald: Euro 372.469
5. Robin Hood - L'origine della Leggenda: Euro 195.784
Yeah braca - there are lots in this article that I like very much (I highlighted).
And its crazy, that people already are talking about 700 millions gross and even in euros. Its crazy, man :o :D
My hopes, that it would pass 600 millions dollars mark (620-630 millions), but who knows... :)
I think it depends, if R. Malek will be nominated for Oscar, or maybe film will get other nominations, even less important, it automatically will rise additional buzz about the movie:)

Yes. But I do think euro is a typo as it worldwide gross is listed in US $

Its success in S Korea (over 45 m $) might be the trigger to release it in China too.

If they release the movie in China, I will believe the "700 and above" mission as a real thing :D

20th Century Fox’s Bohemian Rhapsody earned another $8.1 million (-41%) in its fifth weekend for a $164.4m domestic total. It hit two big milestones this weekend, soaring past $500m worldwide and passing the $161m unadjusted gross of Straight Outta Compton ($161m in 2015) to become the biggest musical biopic of all time. It’s still looking like an over/under $185m domestic finish, unless it gets Oscar attention, even as it flirts with $600m+ worldwide (it might top Crimes of Grindelwald). Yes, the $55m-budgeted Freddie Mercury biopic is a monster hit for all parties and is certainly encouraging for Dexter Fletcher’s Rocket Man next May.

And it earned another $37 million overseas this weekend (-19% in old markets), including a 51% jump in its third weekend in South Korea. The movie has earned a ridiculous $539m worldwide thus far, and it should pass $600m worldwide in the middle of this month. And, yeah, once it passes Mamma Mia! ($609m in 2008), it'll be the biggest live-action musical of all time behind the "live-action" Beauty and the Beast remake ($1.2 billion in 2017). Walt Disney's upcoming musical slate (Mary Poppins Returns, Aladdin and The Lion King) may have something to say about that, but that's for another post.

South Korea is absolutely driven and crazy about this biopic and (hope) Queen.
It might be that it will be the second biggest market after USA, comparing gross of the movie (not UK).

Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack is also a non-mover, as it holds at No. 6 with a little more than 43,000 units (down 11 percent).

I think Lawyeris, this could possibly hit 700 million dollars worldwide even without China but that all depends on what people decide to watch over Christmas and the Academy awards. I also think that China may decide to release it yet based on how massive this film is becoming in South Korea. Saying that South Korea know Queens music, I'm not so sure about Queen being popular in China. When FM was alive China was a third world country and hardly anyone could buy music. They don't have Spotify there and I don't think they have youtube either. However, it could surprise us. It'll still be cut like it was in Malaysia and Indonesia.

It closed the weekend at #1 in Italy with a cash of 5,4 M €. Only 1,8 M € were registered only on last Sunday: almost 250,000 people yesterday attended the Italian cinemas for Bohemian Rhapsody. The prediction is it might exceed the 10 M € by the end of this week.

If this movie wont be No 1 in Netherlands in year end chart - I'll be very unsatisfied...
As we know, the Netherlands is heavy Queen territory, so it has to be No 1.

The real strength of a film, at least from a commercial point of view, in Italy is seen not so much from the weekend's receipts but from those of Monday, an asphyxiated day par excellence. Bohemian Rhapsody (watch the video review) yesterday managed to cash over half a million euros, more than the sum of all the other films put together and so yes, it's really strong. Its total is now 6 million euros and by the end of the week it should have surpassed 10 million without problems.

Weekend tranquillo in Oriente.

In Japan, Bohemian Rhapsody continues to make havoc and has grown for the third consecutive week, hoisting second place of the weekend, behind Fantastic Animals - Criminals of Grindewald (watch the video review), arrived at 25 million in total. The data is not surprising, given that the Japanese market was historically one of the most important for the career of Queen, almost like the American and home. The film has grossed almost 30 million, but by the end of the year it will have definitely passed the 50.

In South Korea, Default won sharply, which opened with 12.5 million dollars in front of Bohemian Rhapsody, which reached 48 million, another monstre, and Unstoppable, which stopped at 11.1 million.

Box Office Italia del 3/12/2018

2. Il Grinch: Euro 89.044
3. Se son rose: Euro 81.148
4. Animali Fantastici - I Crimini di Grindelwald: Euro 52.980
5. Royal Opera House: La Bayadére: Euro 42.817
6. Robin Hood - L'origine della Leggenda: Euro 28.175
7. Troppa grazia: Euro 9.723
9. Lo Schiaccianoci e i Quattro Regni: Euro 8.481
10. Ride: Euro 7.386

I solute you, Italy! :D Huge Queen territory too, after South Korea, Netherlands and ... Lithuania :P :D
I cant say the same about UK, where the results of the movie aren't so impressive, in my opinion. For example Mamma Mia: Here we go again finished with 84 millions $, and the first Mamma Mia with 94 millions $. Bohemian Rhapsody after this weekend has around 55 millions $, and gross week after week goes down. I'd say, BoRha will finish with just 65 million $ in UK :(

So Bohemian Rhapsody officially passed Wonderwall by Oasis today as a single track on Spotify. It is the most streamed song frome the 20 th century. BR is on 582,658,938 and Wonderwall is on 581,751,946. BR is still pulling in around 2 million streams per day but their monthly listeners are beginning to level out at just over 37 million. Putting them at 17 in the world. That should go up still a couple of places. It'll be interesting to see that when the hype from the movie dies down where their popularity will sit long term.
