:o Is that ALL the songs from her new album in the Top 100? She's performing similarly to that of Jonas Brothers, what with releasing new songs each week and seeing them all shoot to #1, and all the album's tracks being in the Main Top 100.

She could debut with +500k.

My prediction of 350k is very far... And it's good !
After all the bad results of the country singer since the beginning of this year, Taylor Swift seems to be the future of this style of music, with Carrie Underwood ! :D

HOLY COW! Wait up! Didn't Carnival Ride only sell 527k in its first week? And sales are down 30% from last year! Fans weren't wrong when they said Taylor would own Carrie. :o

Lucky you. She's the worst country female artist ever.

I have all of her songs because I collect the Top 10 country hits but I don't really like her.

She's a bimbo. She said recently that she finds it hard to buy underwear now that she is famous. LOL

She's the Kylie Minogue of country music.

pompous drivel  did you get lost on your way to the "gossip" forums?

I'm by no means a purist when it comes to country music, so I can't compare Taylor to true country stars, but I appreciate artists like her and Carrie who straddle the line between country and pop

if you haven't already, I suggest giving some of her non-single material a try...most professional critics see things very differently than you do

Yes, Rolling Stone is a well known... country music magazine and the New York Times are country music experts. New York is... a huge country music market.

But seriously, I just don't like the way she sings. She's flat. Compared to country divas like Reba and Trisha Yearwood she's nothing.

Artists like Rascal Flatts and Taylor Swift are popular in the kindergarten. LOL

I'm too old for this. 8-)

What I like about Taylor Swift is her songwriting. She seems to be very talented in writing catchy melodies and lyrics which stick in your head for a while. She'd make a fortune writing for other people. 8-) Although her lryics are a bit too fantasy for me sometimes it's pretty age appropriate.

so arrogant! :o :-?

if you don't respect the opinion of established magazines, Taylor has also been nominated for and won countless country-industry awards (CMA, CMT)

and it's true that she's only 18, but can you really hold it against her that she writes age-appropriate material? :-? even still, there's already noticable growth in her songs since her first disc...

Each opinion is different about all the artists... It's normal. But the important stays the sales, and Taylor Swift is really good for that for the moment !

Taylor Swift On Track For No. 1 Debut
Keith Caulfield, L.A.

Taylor Swift is on course to earn her first No. 1 album on The Billboard 200, based on data from Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart, released today (Nov. 12).

Unweighted sales of the teen star's "Fearless" (Big Machine) through the close of yesterday stood at 217,000. Billboard estimates the eight merchants who report to Nielsen SoundScan's Building chart -- Trans World Entertainment, Best Buy, Circuit City, iTunes, Starbucks, Borders, Target and Anderson Merchandisers -- comprise about 80% of all U.S. album sales.

Universal Music Group Distribution is projecting that "Fearless" could move as much as 600,000 in its first full week of sales. That would easily rank as the best sales week for a country album this year, and the best since Eagles' "Long Road Out of Eden" shifted 711,000 when it bowed in November 2007.

Other albums set to debut within the top 10 on The Billboard 200 next week include David Archuleta's self-titled debut (19/Jive), T-Pain's "Thr33 Ringz" (Konvict/Nappy Boy/Jive), the "Now 29" compilation (UMe) and Enya's "And Winter Came..." (Reprise).

amazing! sometimes the early reports could be underestimated ("As I Am" sold in its first day 150k and ended up with 740k), so 600k is very possible, really big for a sophomore album in 2008 :o

"Long Road Out Of Eden" was not only a Country album, but too a Rock album. And the Eagles are a Rock band, or at the maximum a Country/Rock band. So, considered this 710k first week like a first week of Country is strange for me, and very easy. The last enormous debut of a real Country singer was "Carnival Ride" of Carrie Underwood with 527k.
