Either these sales are over inflated or they are counting the streamings and certifications (for some singles certifications are way higher than the actual sales).

According to my estimations and only pure sales, she sold in total around 92 millions singles:

Just dance = 10,5 m
Poker face = 13,5
Eh eh = 1 m
Love game = 3,5 m
Paparazzi = 6 m
Bad Romance = 12 m
Telephone = 7,4 m
Alejandro = 4,5 m
Born this way = 8,3 m
Judas = 2,5 m
The Edge of glory = 5 m
You and I = 3,3 m
Marry the night = 1,5 m
Applause = 4,2 m
Do What U Want = 2,2 m
G.U.Y. = 0,5 m
Till it happens to you = 0,2 m
Perfect Illusion = 0,7 m
Millions reasons = 2 m
A-YO = 0,4 m
The Cure = 0,6 m

Other minor singles/non official songs = 2 m

You have no way to know worldwide sales.
You cannot calculate worldwide sales with certs. as songs can be undercertified or not certified at all.

The 140 million singles sold figure was used by media, her label, Billboard, etc. years ago, even before the vast majority of countries started counting streaming for certifications.
Chartmasters (who is considere like a God over here by many) estimated 112 million singles (digital + physical) before the Joanne era (+The Cure). Being very very conservative with some of his numbers (only 10.8 million for BR, for example... really off).

Just to show how low your numbers are: BTW sold 8.2 million in 2011 alone according to IFPI's year end report. Official figures. According to you, it has sold only 100k in the next 6 years, worldwide? :lol:

Those 150 million are inflated? Maybe. It's the official figure, though. But 92 million? Anyway... we're seeing constantly the media or labels claiming "X records sold" for other artists which are even more inflated and people take them... :wink:

even if some of the big singles sold a couple of millions more (and only very few....cos for most of them the sales are up to date)....she is still so far away from 146-150 millions.
The estimations now are easier to make since for many countries (at least from those that all together make 90% of the world market) we know detailed numbers (digital + physical)....even if we don't know the sales from very small markets, it is very unlikely that they add up to even 1-2 millions.
Adding all this....even if 92 millions would be a low estimations....it is very unlikely and mathematically impossible that it can be more than 100-110 millions.
Plus, what record companies and/or magazines say are just statements based on many other factors such as streaming certifications (as for BR that is certified 11 platinums in US, while it had actually sold 5,7 millions until the end of 2016) or just publicity, so I never really trust them, especially when they come out with improbably numbers like this (or as for Michael Jackson, where most of the media claim 500 or even 750 millions....so far from the truth).

The IFPI list includes mastertones and ringtones and isn't just digital/physical sales which I think is the figure we're all confusing - and for an act like Gaga who was huge in Asia around that time where mastertones and ringtones were pretty huge...

Not denying she has or hasn't sold an enormous amount of singles - not denying that mastertones or ringtones should or shouldn't be included.

Well, IFPI's reports up to 2010 have that key under the Top 10 chart stating that downloads, ringtones and mastertones are included.
Not the 2011 and 2012's reports.
Then, from 2013 onwards there's that key saying downloads and streaming are included.

Not sure if BTW's 8.2 m. sold in 2011 includes ringtones and mastertones, tbh... They were pretty dead by then.

Anyway, the 150 million seems too much for me too if we take into account the countries where we know sales and certs.
120 million singles is my estimation. Maybe 150 m. with ringtones and mastertones...

But that 150 million is definitely not with streaming included. She's easily above 200 million with SPS.
