So, those initial round were not kind to British females of the new millenium! 7/10 of our eliminees fit that description. The only classic singer to head out is Gladys Knight, getting that Midnight Train to outta here. For me, the most shocking is the departure of Amy Winehouse, who would have been safe is Jonathan had got his votes in just 5 minutes earlier.

41. Amy Winehouse - Tears Dry On Their Own
42. Joss Stone - Fell In Love With a Boy
43. Gladys Knight - Midnight Train to Georgia
44. Adele - Make You Feel My Love
45. Jennifer Hudson - And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going
46. Angie Stone - No More Rain (In This Cloud)
47. Emeli Sande - Read All About It
48. Duffy - Stepping Stone
49. Alesha Dixon - Breathe Slow
50. Leona Lewis - Run

Isn't tarring all gospel ladies with the same brush unfair?

True but it seems like almost every last one of them have come out anti-gay... Mary Mary did it too, so did Shirley Caesar as well as Mandisa. It's almost harder to find one who doesn't hate the gays.
