Shame we lost George and Elton - had wanted that to win, although largely because I love the 70s original of it. Funny how two of the top 5 were actually 70s songs, and one of the final two is a 60s song I believe (Certainly the original was a long time ago)

Anyway, I love both Cher and Michael Jackson. In both cases I'd say the song in question is not their ultimate best but is in their top 5-10 or so.

However I love both Michael Jackson more than Cher and "Black Or White" more than "The Shoop Shoop Song" so my vote goes to Michael to take it back to a draw!

I can't believe why The King of Pop still won.
Because both songs are still my favorites. That's OK but I'm looking forward to 2016 UK #1s survivor. :)

By the skin ( :-?) of his teeth, king MJ enjoys his second victory in the UK #1s survivor series. Despite undergoing a radical and scary metamorphosis at that time, the king of pop’s genetic makeup was still that of a negro’s! Never would that be more evident than on follow-up single, “Remember the Time”. Image The king was back and the king was black! 8-)

Thanks so much for hosting!!! It was a great countdown :D. I'm fine with the winner TBH.

Though HOF needs more Kylie.

Other than that weird Atomic Kitten win, that's a pretty epic list.

Glad MJ just pulled it out. Believe I can understand winning, but the Shoop Shoop Song is not HOF material :)

Don't rule out this legend...!

1, 2, 3, 4, tell the people what she wore...

Oh, and of course I'll be supporting the Beautiful South for their only chart topper, plus the excellent "Saviour's Day", and of course the first solo chart topper for Sir Elton.
