The Ultimate 1990s Survivor: Phase 2: Round 13

I’m about to embark on my biggest survivor yet - anybody who knows me, knows how obsessed and nostalgic I am about the 90s, so I decided to run the ultimate 1990s survivor to find UKMIX’s favourite song of the decade.

So what am I going to include?
  • Every UK top 10 hit from the beginning of 1990 to the end of 1999.
  • However, any songs that were hits in the 90s that had already been a hit in a previous year (e.g. Bohemian Rhapsody) won’t be included.
  • A song that precedes the decade but WASN’T a hit previously (e.g. I Just Want To Make Love To You) will be included.
  • Covers and significant remixes (e.g. the Rollo & Sister Bliss mix of I Feel Love) are also included.
  • A selection of songs from outside of the top 10 will be chosen by you.
The final list of songs exceeds 1500, so the initial rounds will be split into groups of as close to 25 as possible and I will ask you to save 10 from each group. The songs with the most votes will go through automatically to the next stage, those that don’t make it through may have another chance to do so as a wildcard later on. Then, we will have a final list to work through after the initial group stages.

Your first job is to nominate up to 10 songs of your choice that charted between 11 numbers and 75 in the 90s. Once a song has been nominated, don’t choose it again as it will automatically be included.

This game won't begin until 10th August, when I'm back from my holiday, so get nominating!

Terrible artists chosen for the pic.

Epic idea for a survivor though!

Ah, I knew I could count on Matthew to include some of the ones I wasn't able to fit in my choice of 10. Also thanks to Benny for including The Show Must Go On, as originally I had that in my 10, so it's now allowed me to add in Kenickie instead :D

My 10 are...
Catatonia - Strange Glue
Pulp - Do You Remember The First Time?
Space - Female Of The Species
The Divine Comedy - Generation Sex
The Bluetones - Bluetonic

Good to see "Circle of Life" and "Spending My Time" getting nominations :D Couldn't quite fit either my votes. I also left out a couple of songs from my votes because it was blindingly obvious they'd get votes from other people. Rather "ironically", one of them currently still hasn't had any nominations!
