Initially, I was going to go with "Counting Stars", but went with the Two Door Cinema Club tune instead.

Excited to see how out of sync we are this year.

Thank you for all your predictions, feel free to keep voting if you haven't yet. Let us begin!

100. Lawson ft. B.o.B - Brokenhearted
As I'm sure I would have mentioned last year when 'Taking Over Me' and 'Standing In The Dark' charted, I didn't rate Lawson AT ALL when their debut single came out. Now on their sixth single from their Chapman Square album - and all the follow ups have been better than that original release for me. This single isn't their best but was still a jaunty radio friendly number that turned on it's heel from the 'I love that girl' stance of the four singles before it. Benefitting from a feature ffrom one of the most likeable rappers, B.o.B, Lawson continued a streak of quality pop singles.

33. Standing In The Dark (2012)
52. Taking Over Me (2012)
100. Brokenhearted (ft. B.o.B) (2013)
60. Nothin’ On You ( ft. Bruno MARS (2010)
64. Airplanes ( ft. Hayley WILLIAMS) (2010)
66. Magic ( ft. Rivers CUOMO) (2010)
96. Price Tag (with Jessie J) (2011)
100. Brokenhearted (with LAWSON) (2012)
099. Little Mix ft. Missy Elliott - How Ya Doin?
Also following on from singles that did quite well from their debut album are X Factor alumni Little Mix. This was not a particular fan favourite from the album but took on a life of it's own when becoming a single, even snagging a feature from Missy Elliott which was probably a surprise given that she was actually slated to work with Misha B from the same series. A throwback single with a singalong sound and a glossy video, this was a very strong fourth single for the girls.

59. DNA (2012)
66. Wings (2012)
99. How Ya Doin? (2013)
35. 1,2 Step (with CIARA) (2005)
38. Car Wash (with Christina AGUILERA) (2004)
60. Lose Control ( ft. CIARA & Fatman SCOOP) (2005)
99. How Ya Doin? (with LITTLE MIX) (2013)
098. CHVRCHES - The Mother We Share
Despite having seen CHVRCHES live, supporting Two Door Cinema Club, their stuff never really clicked with me. That was until I was a judge on this years Popjustice Twenty Quid Prize, at which this single was the surprise victor. That night the song was played multiple times and it just began to sink in. The lead singers voice is probably quite an acquired taste but works well on this soft and subtle track. Very sweet and simple, but very credible at the same time!

097. John Mayer - Paper Doll
I thought this song was SO BORING when I first heard it, such a disappointment for me given that I am a massive Mayer fan. However having not been very big at all on his last album I wasn't necessarily surprised. I am pleased to report that this has grown on me immensely though. The song is so laid back it is practically horizontal but the turnaround came for me when I realised the 'you're like 22 girls in one' refrain is actually a very catchy little hook. Still nowhere near his greatest, but a lovely track nonetheless.

47. Who Says (2009)
66. Bigger Than My Body (2004)
96. Paper Doll (2013)
096. Little Nikki - Little Nikki Says
Best known for her track 'Intro Intro' and her short lived life as part of SoundGirl, Little Nikki came back hard this year with this killer single. Taking it's cues from Simon Says with a chorus of directions, the big moment is when the music drops out with 'STOP, Nikki didn't say'. A real iconic moment of the year for me and a surprise that Radio 1 didn't support it given that they did support her feature on 'Wanna Go'. Could have been a real smash with the right exposure, a shame!

095. Two Door Cinema Club - Next Year'
And now it's time to lose our first poll option! And probably a surprise as it's the band who were both No.1 album and No.1 act of the year last year for me! Sorry to Akini who - and I never thought I would say this - is the first to get their prediction wrong, along with one other voter. Let's be clear, they are a great band and this is a solid song but it's not up there with their best for me. It's definitely uplifting and definitely brilliant for a singalong at a gig but as a standalone single it's one of the most generic things they've done, and the verses are better than the chorus. Great, but not amazing by their incredible standards.

06. Something Good Can Work (2011)
09. Sun (2012)
29. Sleep Alone (2012)
45. Undercover Martyn (2011)
77. What You Know (2011)
95. Next Year (2013)
094. J.Lo ft. Pitbull- Live It Up
They're back - together! Despite not charting with Dance Again, the pair - along with RedOne - recreated the magic of On The Floor this year with their third attempt, or 'threepeat'. It's definitely cheesier and probably was played in about one one hundreth of the clubs that On The Floor reached, but for me it's still a joy. Pitbull's references are fun and Jennifer's verse is cute, and the 'let's hook tonight' breakdown takes it away from the pure pop bracket. Definitely not a groundbreaking song, but a fun one nonetheless.

Jennifer LOPEZ
68. Do It Well (2007)
88. On The Floor ( ft. PITBULL ) (2011)
91. Baby I Love U ( ft. R.KELLY ) (2004)
94. Live It Up (ft. PITBULL) (2013)
16. DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love (with USHER) (2010)
19. I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho) (2009)
56. All Night Long (with Alexandra BURKE) (2010)
88. On The Floor (with Jennifer LOPEZ) (2011)
94. Live It Up (with Jennifer LOPEZ) (2013)
093. Chris Brown - Fine China
Chris Brown, it's fair to say, is not the most popular artist on the planet. I wouldn't call him one of my favourite artists either by a long stretch. And yet here he is scoring his seventh end of year top 100 hit in my charts. 'Fine China' is a song that surprised me, it's a very subtle song for Chris, neither ballad nor club stomper, yet it really packs a punch. It's a direction I would love to see Chris explore more of, a non aggressive rnb flavour with hooks!

07. No Air (with Jordin SPARKS) (2008)
28. Champion (with CHIPMUNK) (2011)
69. Gimme That (2006)
70. With You (2008)
74. Run It ( ft. Juelz SANTANA) (2006)
89. Don't Wake Me Up (2012)
93. Fine China (2013)
092. Nina Nesbitt - Way In The World
I can't say I was very enamoured with Nina's debut effort, 'Stay Out', though it's fair to say it did reasonably here in the UK. I can't say that I particularly felt for the follow up at first either. But this one definitely grew on me and showed this girl has potential (I also liked her cover of 'Don't Stop'). It was seeing her at this years V Festival that made me fall for this song. It's the combination of brilliant bridge ('I'm not lost.. I'm just finding') with the joyful earworm of a chorus ('do you ever, do you ever, do you wonder?) that makes this a total triumph. Definitely her finest hour and should have been a hit.

091. Matt Cardle & Melanie C - Loving You
And finally for tonight we have what came as a very surprise collaboration. A supposedly down and out X Factor champion, on his own label, teaming up with a Spice Girl who hadn't managed a hit for years (not that any of them have). And yet it worked, and not just on an artistic level, but chartwise, coming in at No.14 and hitting the top 10 on UK iTunes. I was delighted at this as they are both so deserving and talented. The chemistry between them was undeniable - I still don't know if they're actually a couple, but they certainly still support one another - and it shone through in what is effectively the younger cousin of 'When You're Gone'. Great harmonies and a great melody equals a hit!

79. Starlight (2011)
91. Loving You (with Melanie C) (2013)
Melanie C
09. Melt (2003)
49. Think About It (2011)
53. Weak (2011)
66. On The Horizon (2003)
76. Better Alone (2005)
91. Loving You (with Matt CARDLE) (2013)
96. yeh yeh yeh (2003)

Brokenhearted is good, but kinda average, as most of their singles are, they keep getting closer to a true hit tho...
How Ya Doin' is my least favorite single LM released, it just didn't click with me and the Missy feature was pointless.
Live it Up was nice for a week, but then it got annoying, they need to stop trying to re-creat OTF and start making something of quality.

"Brokenhearted" is my favourite song of this bunch of tracks. I agree with toni_pest that it's kinda average, though, but it's still a catchy track and to be honest, I don't see them being so different to Maroon 5. They deserve to be more successful! CHVRCHES is an interesting choice as well ;)

Don't mind that Two Door Cinema Club song though.
