Current All-Time Position: #9
A song written for the late Carrie Fisher, beautiful love song, a Paul classic in my book, moves in to my top 10 all-time this year.
Currently sits as my second favourite song on my all-time, this is such an amazing song, very powerful, it's loud and really packs an emotional punch - goosebumps!
Blondini introduced me to Ray on his chart, the album is such a great listen, this epic reminded me of early Zombies, so lush and perfect! Dreamy.
Laura is a recent-ish discovery for me this is her biggest hit on my all-time so far, she had a great soulful sound and this has a great melody. I discovered her through a video where Natalie Cole mentioned her as a favourite.

Glad you like Paul and Judee. I've made a comment on your thread, I prefer your #1 to that Yoko song tbh.Blondini wrote:I can see why your alltime fave is so, it's lovely.
Judee Sill great.
I charted a new Yoko song on my weekly, in case you hadn't noticed.
Hmm curious, we'll see.MrRager wrote:Amy - Paper Made Man for no.1
"James Thomas "Cool Papa" Bell was an American center fielder in Negro league baseball from 1922 to 1946. He is considered by many baseball observers to have been one of the fastest men ever to play the game" So this song is about a real life person. An uptempo joy!
Originally a hit for Carpenters on my chart, this original is so much better though, Michael was probably the biggest discovery for me in 2016, love this funky tune and his soft calm voice.
Rediscovered him in 2016 and in particular this hypnotic song, it's so gorgeous to my ears, he has a beautiful voice too, I love the whole hushed and quiet tone of the song, moves in to my top 30 all-time this year.
Beautiful track from their classic album "Pet Sounds", has become one of my faves from them, I feel like I can relate to some of the lyrics (even if they are somewhat innocent, but that's the charm) It's just so melodic and has those soaring vocals you expect from them, a top 30 all-timer at present.
It just hit me in 2016 how much of a classic this is! I can really relate to the lyrics at this stage of my life too, so I just love this song so much and I'm going to miss David. RIP.
The sadness in the song resonates with me and how can you resist that soaring voice in that amazing chorus? Moves in to my all-time top 40 this year.
This song is really one of my all-time faves as it literally never stops charting every year for me! I love the complexity of the melody, the lyrics, vocals...ahh it's just so magical and really takes me to another place.
I know I seem to like so many sad and miserable songs. This is a personal fave, I just resonate again with that sincere and innocent kind of sadness I get from Amy in this.
This truly has to be one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, it's just epic and so touching, finally moves in to my top 40 all-time this year, a must listen to those who have not heard it.
