Zara Maria Larsson (born 16 December 1997) is a Swedish singer and songwriter.
One of the freshest hits of the year, I still think she's yet to fully match this.

Matthew Thomas Masurka (Gigamesh) is a Minneapolis-based American three-time multi-platinum selling music producer and DJ.
Caroline Smith is an indie-folk singer/songwriter from Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Funky disco vibes all over this, my drive to work jam for many weeks earlier in the year.

"One Dance" and "Cheap Thrills" are both among the best party songs of the year; I just massively prefer the Sia song, and I'm glad Rihanna rejected it, as I can't imagine her doing a better job with it than Sia.

Cheap Thrills is so much better than any Anti single, really? Well, she must have had her reasons.

Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969), also known as JLo, is an American singer, actress, dancer, fashion designer, author, and producer.
A strong showing in both song and video for J-Lo this year, catchy and simple - would've smashed in her hey-day.
It smashed as hell in Germany though and is becoming one of her classics at parties 8-)

Christine and The Queens is faaaab! I prefer the English version though, ugh they deleted it on Spotify :x

"Magnetised" is a great piece of work ...

"Lush Life" ... ugh will Zara ever reach this level again?
I'll find my way home

I know and like "Tilted" (heard it for the first time tonight on the Xmas TOTP) and Tom Odell. Merry Xmas sexy. :D :P

Illyus & Barrientos are an electronic music duo from Glasgow consisting of Illyus Brown & Ivan Hall Barrientos.
Trina Broussard (born October 8, 1969) is an American R&B singer and songwriter.
One of the best house tracks of the year, the build up and drop is so satisfying... a reworking of an early 00s R&B song.

Gabrielle Ann Aplin (born 10 October 1992) is an English singer-songwriter.
I really enjoyed her last album but this new lane for her is absolutely spot on! Gorgeous vocal and production.

Hailee Steinfeld (born December 11, 1996) is an American actress, model and singer.
Grey is an American electronic music duo consisting of brothers Kyle and Michael Trewartha.
Anton Zaslavski, better known by his stage name Zedd, is a Russian-born German record producer, DJ and musician.
After making my top 100 with Love Myself last year, Hailee was back with another massive earworm and deserved smash.

"Lush Life" is pop at its best, really loving it, so i'm happy to see it on your countdown :D

"Starving" took lots of time to grow on me but now i think it's pretty great.

Gwen Renée Stefani (born October 3, 1969) is an American singer, songwriter, and fashion designer.
Great bubblegum-pop, catchy comeback, shame she's a 40+ female as this would've been a hit for anyone else!

Bastille are a British indie pop band formed in 2010 lead by vocalist Dan Smith.
I didn't think much to Good Grief but this one is all kinds of brilliant! The sax riff, brooding mood, "exorcise my mind"... excellent.

I agree! This track is so much better than "Good Grief" wich was rather disappointing.

Nice to see Sia, Drake, Tom Odell.

Like the two last songs by Gwen and Bastille, however both already released better tunes. Kinda sad how Gwen flopped in 2016, as the music she put out was very good.

Hi Thriller :D

So here are my favourite songs that have appeared so far.

48. Usher - Crash
46. Jennifer Lopez - Aint your mama
44. Christine And The Queens - Tilted
42. Jonas Blue featuring JP Cooper - Perfect strangers
40. Drake featuring Wizkid & Kyla - One dance
39. Sia - Cheap thrills
37. Zara Larsson - Lush life
33. Hailee Steinfeld & Grey featuring Zedd - Starving
32. Gwen Stefani - Make me like you

Tilted got to #5 in my chart last year although it was the original french version called Christine. Even though i didn't understand the lyrics, i loved the sound and style of the track. I find the english version a bit strange, not in a bad way but it's as if they took the french lyrics and re wrote the song using english words that sound similar, or maybe that's just me who thinks this!

Lush life was also a big hit for me last year but i'm so happy Zara ended up getting a big hit in the UK this year with this song.

My obvious fave here is Starving, a #1 in my chart for three weeks. Still think its the best song Hailee has done yet and i hope they release a great new song next instead of re-releasing Love myself as it just doesn't click with me. :(

Your comment about Make me like you is interesting when consider Sia is also 40+ but is getting hit singles. Plus Gwen still looks immaculate at 47 but age really shouldn't dictate your success. If the song is great it deserves to do well.

Britney Jean Spears (born December 2, 1981) is an American singer, dancer and actress.
The clear highlight from Glory for me, this is brashy Britney at her best - should've been at least the second single.

Victor Rådström, known as Neiked (stylized as NEIKED), is a Swedish producer.
Dayo Olatunji (born 4 March 1992), better known by her stage name Dyo (formerly Ms D), is an English pop/R&B singer
Took a while to grow but this is so cute, funky and fresh. The bass in the chorus is fire.

Patrick Chukwuemeka Okogwu (Tinie Tempah) is a British rapper, singer, songwriter and record producer.
Perfect re-introduction for Tinie as a lead artist - ballsy, clubby, instant and radio friendly... such a shame Mamacita was dross.

As if you've listened to Glory but not this  I think I liked 'Blame' and I see that's been added to R1 as next single and I think I liked that.

Girls Like I adored.. even bought.. went off the boil so quickly for me. Know the rap though!

Here for Sexual, definitely!
