Blondini wrote:Haven't you heard? Kitten's a band again. I know it was just her on that release, though.
Ha ha, I can't keep up with what all artists on my charts are up to! Thanks for telling me!
MrRager wrote:Are you gonna post your chart of non 2016 songs? I'd love to see it. Wondering where Allie X - Sanctuary is especially. Lol
Yeah, I posted such a chart last year (after everything else was done) so I plan on doing it now as well, hopefully not quite as late as last year... I won't reveal yet how it will look but there will definitely be a lot of songs that you like in the top 20!
Tansike wrote:Ok i take it back... Franziska's whole album is not eligible, right?
That's correct. I haven't found any information that any of the songs from it was released as a single in 2016 (which would have made a difference for those songs). Although there are only four songs on the album that got enough plays in 2016 to have been in the top 200 if allowed.
Tansike wrote:Nice first update of your Top200. "Roses" is easily my fave here. Surprised "Sit Here And Cry" is not higher, but i'm sure she'll have one song which should be very high on your list
Yeah, "Sit Here and Cry" was actually one of my least played songs on the album but there isn't a huge difference between a lot of the songs on it, not until the very best ones...

Great! Now only 96 more votes needed .
So, at this rate I'll be lucky to have finished this countdown before 2018 starts . The next update will be tomorrow, and after that, hopefully, things will go much faster.
Plays: 56 Best Month: August (71%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 22
#176. Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy – Make Me...SV
Plays: 56 Best Month: July (93%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 25
Britney's comeback hit for me; she had been gone from my weekly chart for more than 700 weeks until this showed up. It's definitely not her highest song on the YEC though! The video is OK but lost out here to Christie Lamb below.
Plays: 58 Best Month: December (97%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 14
Sia's original never clicked with me, but this acoustic cover did!
#173. Alan Walker featuring Iselin Solheim – Sing Me to SleepSV
Plays: 58 Best Month: July (50%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 20
This is Alan Walker's only song on my 2016 YEC. I do like "Faded", a lot more than this song in fact, but alas it was released in November 2015 and although I didn't hear it until 2016 had begun it wasn't inluded on any EP or album released during the year so it's not eligible to chart here.
#189. Candice Russell – We Keep On Dancing #187. Hillary Scott & The Scott Family – Love Remains #186. Florrie – Real Love #182. Madeline Juno – Stadt im Hinterland #180. Aubrie Sellers – Paper Doll #176. Britney Spears featuring G-Eazy – Make Me... #173. Alan Walker featuring Iselin Solheim – Sing Me to Sleep #171. Martina Stoessel – Born to Shine #170. Madeline Juno – Waldbrand #168. Kate Voegele – Must Be Summertime #166. Ellie Goulding – Still Falling for You #162. Aubrie Sellers – Liar Liar #161. Invader Girl – Casio
Nice two batches. "Still Falling For You", "Sing Me To Sleep" and "Casio" are my faves there. The latter is currently growing on me as i'm really liking her EP right now.
btw as for the poll, i'm pretty sure that Simone will be your #1 now...

Swedish singer Camilla Brinck has appeared on my YEC before but not for over a decade. She was #10 in 2000 with "Bye Bye Forever", #24 in 2001 with "Heaven" and #87 in 2005 with "Jenny". This year she finally released a couple of new songs and "Pallesi" is the best of those. I have absolutely no idea what the title means though. It's never even mentioned in the lyrics. From just listening I would have guessed the title to be either "Raise Me Up" or "Believe in Me".
I'm glad (but not surprised) you like those songs! Yeah, really strange that "Still in the Game" wasn't at least included on Side B. And the old YouTube link is gone (but I found a new one, it only has 169 plays ).
I also thought that "Capsize" was too low when I listened to my YEC, but then I checked out the video so now I think its position is correct .
It's a bit difficult to describe what Invader Girl sounds like as she has (had ) her own sound I think. It's definitely electronic pop music though and I think you would like her! If you do check her out, don't forget "Starting Fires" from 2014; that's her best song. Hm, was going to link to it but apparently it's gone from both Spotify and YouTube, at least the version I listen to . She will appear once more on the YEC tomorrow.
(Single cover from 2015; the song is also on her album released in 2016)
Plays: 87 Best Month: October (66%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 14
The first of three songs for Croatian singer Nina Kraljić, two of which are sung in her mother tongue.
#118. Brad Paisley featuring Demi Lovato – Without a FightSA
Plays: 89 Best Month: June (62%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 23
The first of two songs for Demi Lovato, where she gets a little help from country singer Brad Paisley (or is it the other way around?). It's also the highest song that didn't peak inside the top 20 on my weekly chart.
^ Well, I agree that many of her songs aren't that good or even annoying, so "No Broken Hearts" is more the exception than the rule (and it's terrible if Nicki isn't edited out!). But it didn't have that much longevity, as evidenced by the fact that it is the lowest placed song that peaked in the top 5 on my weekly chart (usually that title goes to a song from very late in the year but not this time).
Plays: 94 Best Month: July (67%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 15
Danish singer MØ finally got a hit on my chart with this song. Here's the 66-million-view video:
#108. The Girl and The Dreamcatcher – Glowing in the DarkSV
"The Girl" in this duo is none other than the singer who was #1 and #2 last year, Dove Cameron. But add her boyfriend/fiancé Ryan McCartan and she ends up outside the top 100. (But she flopped even harder with a solo cover of "Genie in a Bottle".)
Plays: 94 Best Month: April (97%) Peak Position on Weekly Chart: 5
