"In My Blood" is okay, but not quite as stunning as "You Ruin Me", which I prefer by a country mile.

I checked out "Stellular", and it wasn't bad. It's not the kind of song I typically listen to, but it was sort of nice.

2016 ALBUM CHART TOP 30
Image
1. JONATHAN JOHANSSON - LOVE & DEVOTION
The swedish synthpop singer-songwriter made a lyrics video/visual album this time around and it glitters.
Judge for yourself, there is the drama, the spectacle, the clever lyrics and, of course, his personality.
1.Bull City
2. Sommarkläder
3.Släng alla heartbreakstråkar
4. Vem Av Alla
5.Rosa himmel
6. Real Thing
7. Ti Amo

8. Du så fin
9. Old News
10. We Above
11.Tinning mot tinning

I'm not a fan of The Veronicas' ballads, too cheesy.
Thanks for checking, I appreciate it 8-)

these are honourable mentions, because my chart is too hectic and voluntary, some of the good ones got buried too quickly sadly which I do regret

#3 MEISTERJAAN - BAMBUSEST LAEV
Estonian psychedelia/world music/electronica songwriter provides the most hectic music on my chart. Gets you in a state of trance.
The music video gets my 18+ warning

#2 JONATHAN JOHANSSON - NO REST FOR ME
Omitted from his "Love And Devotion" album, this is the only song fully in English ever released by this swedish singer-songwriter. The song was included in the swedish series "Springflo" OST.
A depressing tale of coming to terms with reality.
If there's rest by the water
If there's rest by the sea
If there's rest for the mourners
Ain't no rest for me

#1 YO GRAPES - I PLAY THE DRUMS
A rare occurence when a solo project of Desmond and The Tutus drummer (they came at #41 in the singles' chart) did much better.
Songs like these can't get to #1 in any other chart than mine.
A very late 00s indie pop, but I am just loving the vibe.
So this act from South Africa takes the #1 spot of the whole 2016.
A bit strange like the year itself.

I've seen that Yo Grapes song hanging around your chart a lot this year, which is relatively unusual for you from what I've seen so I will re-listen to this soon and will try some more songs and albums for sure. Nice and exciting list. :D

The Coldplay one was nice - they even made a point about everyone else paying tribute to Bowie but they were paying respect to a group that needed the exposure and sadly would never get to see it.

TOP 10 LIVE PERFORMANCES OF 2016
#6 Gwenno - Chwyldro (Live at WFUV)

Her voice improved so much during the last few year. And her music is now more coherent then ever.
Here she sounds very convincing.

TOP 10 LIVE PERFORMANCES OF 2016
#5 Catfish and The Bottlemen - Anything (Live At T In The Park 2016)

One of their most convincing performances, despite it being at the festival where sound quality isn't always showstopping.

TOP 10 LIVE PERFORMANCES OF 2016
#4 Jonathan Johansson - Real thing (Live @ P3 Guldgalan 2016)

Even if it feels a bit withdrawn, I say it is a performance of the post-modern, post-pop era.
