I did not find this until after I completed my top 100 at my personal topic, but here it is (I copied the separate messages)

Today we count from 100 to 81 in the Thistle 100 of 2016. And we found quite a number of songs that are still in the weekly list as we speak. Also we find a lot of acts that had more then one song in the list past year: Black Honey (2x), Daughter (4x), Sunflower Bean (2x), Wild Beasts (2x), Whitney (4x), Cherry Glazerr (2x), Haley Bonar (4x), Savages (2x), Angel Olsen (3x) and Little Green Cars (3x).

Today we bring you the overview of 80 to 61 en we met the first ex-number ones (in total 23 songs got to the top): Cigarettes After Sex is the current number one (for two consecutive weeks) and Her with Five Minutes was at the top position when the year 2016 started. Not so long ago the band scored another top position which makes it one of the most succesful bands of the past year.

Cage The Elephant was already in the end list of 2015 but survived another 8 weeks in 2016 which brings them to place 77.

With The Sore Losers, Pauwel The Meyer and Trixie Whitley we encounter the first bands from my home country Belgium in this top 100.

We arrived at the overview of Thistle List 2016 between numbers 60 en 41. And there we find two recent number ones and an old one. The recent ones are Her and Rae Sremmurd. They prove, together with The Weeknd that this list isn't always that alternative as often said.

Bear's Den show up with their lowest entry. They have two more in this top 100 which makes them one of the more popular bands of past year.

The Slow Show, Meilyr Jones and Pumarosa are leftovers from last year's top 100. Especially Pumarosa does well. They were in the list for 15 weeks with this haunting song. Over the two past years this is one of the most succesful songs in the list.

At the top op this overview, we find Clock Opera with the apetiser for their upcoming album. 2017 is already promising...

Als a few of my fellow country men with Warhaus en Faces On TV, not by coincidence of course: their among the best Belgium had to offer in music in the past year.

En then we have three number ones who didn't make it to the top 20 of this end list: The Veils, Black Honey and Royal Blood. And this we can say already: in tomorrow's overview their will only be ex-number ones except for four songs...

The Thistle Top 20 of 2016!

Last year (2015) was the year of TORRES, but 2016 was the year of Haley Bonar who had four songs in the Thistle List the past year of which three in the top 100. That's as much as Whitney, but they strand at place 6 while Bonar end way up at the top of my list, only beating K. Flay by a nose length. Radiohead compleats the top 3. They hold of The Last Shadow Puppets who are twice in the top 20. Bear's Den ends the year at five and had two more songs in the top 100. The rest is op to you to discover. This is it for 2016. We'll be back in 2017 with a lot more!

Fantastic to see Banks' "To The Hilt" getting a Top10 spot!

Also liking her other entries, and the ones by The Weeknd, The xx, David Bowie, Cigarettes After Sex and FKA twigs :)
