20. Cheat Codes - No Promises (feat. Demi Lovato)
18. Tori Amos - Reindeer King
17. Dua Lipa - New Rules
15. Tove Lo - Disco Tits
14. Björk - Blissing Me

"Reindeer King" is soooo good. Such a perfect album opener  Kinda sad to hear you didn't enjoy the album, as i loved it.
"New Rules" was a big highlight for me as well last year, "No Promises" was good.
While i don't dislike "Disco Tits" and "Blissing Me", i think both artists already released MUCH better stuff and i'd count these two to their weakest singles ever

46. Camila Cabello - Havana (feat. Young Thug)
41. St. Vincent - Los Ageless - woo cool to see this almost in the Top 40, really enjoy her more accessible tracks
30. Lana Del Rey - White Mustang - not the best on the album but still good
28. Charli XCX - Boys - this is honestly overrated, but the song itself is pretty enjoyable I guess

New Rules, Disco Tits and Drew Barrymore are such a great trilogy of anthems...and also perfect examples of the new strain of feminism in pop music today!

13. Macy Gray - White Man

Image

I don't like Macy Gray's music mostly because her voice just grates me and I can't enjoy it. I don't know why, but it works amazingly in this song! This is an undiscovered masterpiece - it tackles a current topic with not only the lyrics, but also the video, while at the same time it's catchy and not generic. I wish the world knew of this song more... in the sea of new "woke" songs about today's issues, it's a shame this one is not as relevant. The opening piano and verse sung by her voice are perfection.

12. Clean Bandit - Disconnect (feat. Marina and the Diamonds)

Image

One more Clean Bandit song here! This song was long overdue, having been previewed back in 2015 as far as I know. And, of course, instead of getting Marina that smash, Clean Bandit decided to make this a random buzz single with no promo, hence Disconnect is one more underrated Marina gem. I love the lyrics, obviously Marina's touch, and the whole song is catchy, but understated. Marina's vocals slay my life as usual.

11. Betsy - Waiting

Image

I discovered this wonderful piece of pop music in leomedar's female singers survivor, a big thank you to whomever nominated it. Her voice is like a mix of Clare Maguire and Annie Lennox, the production so euphoric and exilarating, the melody so stunning. She's so underrated, I honestly can't believe she hasn't yet been discovered considering how accessible her music is. Mainstream pop needs her bad.

^ Such a great song! Glad to see it make it so high on your list.

Hmmm, some songs that I thought would be Top10 for you, were actually quite low. So I have no idea what to expect now :(.

10. Iggy Azalea - Mo Bounce

Image

Everybody got opinions, yeah, like assholes
You ain't gotta worry 'bout those, 'cause they assholes
We just came to party, party, party, what you came for?
Make, make the neighborhood bounce to this

Iggy came hard with this song, easily one of her best singles! It's a travesty how the general public ignored this (and her other singles). Her downfall is one of the biggest musical injustices IMO (#unpopularopinion) and I'll stay a true fan as long as she keeps on releasing such amazing tunes and videos. Should've been her comeback single instead of Team, and the video should've gone viral!

9. Kygo & Selena Gomez - It Ain't Me

Image

Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning?
Who's gonna rock you when the sun won't let you sleep?
Who's waking up to drive you home when you're drunk and all alone?
Who's gonna walk you through the dark side of the morning?
It ain't me.

I know the song is nothing revolutionary, but for some reason it sounds magical to me! Selena's voice is, surprisingly, ethereal and emotional, especially in the chorus, which is the clear standout. The lyrics are interesting enough for a song of this genre, and the drop is fantastic. Maybe the best thing Selena's put her voice to.

8. Lana Del Rey - Love

Image

I get ready, I get all dressed up
To go nowhere in particular
It doesn't matter if I'm not enough
For the future or the things to come
'Cause I'm young and in love

A more positive song for a change, singing about something very general and human in such a warm way, celebrating youth in all its naivete and joy. Sounds cinematic and absolutely wonderful, her vocal delivery is less sombre, more light and hopeful.

7. Susanne Sundfør - Undercover

Image

Don't love the ones who trust you
It's just not in your heart
You're a teasing little twister and
They're dancers in the dark

Coming as a complete change from the electropop sound of her previous album, Undercover is a stunning piano ballad about wanting a simple relationship with no overanalyzing, making a big fuss over it, and most of all with no big trust or love involved. At least that's what I've taken from it. It's a relatable tune, and most of all, it's written beautifully. The ending of the song gives me chills.

6. Mýa - Ready for Whatever

Image

I'm not all in my feelings
Just tellin' you how I feel
'Cause I got caught up in a moment
Tell me where you wanna take it from here

I enjoyed Mya's latest album before, but this newest song just wowed me! Actually made me interested in her discography. It's so sensual, dark, sexy and makes me wanna run away and become a stripper. The little twinkly sound intro is just perfection and I can't believe such a song went by mostly unnoticed. And it made my avatar of course.

Glad to see Disconnect make someone else's list. I'll never forgive Clean Bandit for screwing Marina over like that and paying the song dust
