Nights With You and Selfish are both nice songs but don't think they'll go down as my most memorable songs of 2017

St Vincent and Jessie Ware are two of the best latest ones... the former was the most interested I've been in her.

And this is not the last Taylor song to feature

True, that video in particular is one of her best, glad it got viral.

36. Mýa - Coolin'

Image

This sweet, sensual, cinematic song was the gate leading to my fresh Mya stanning. The music video is absolutely stunning and the whole mood of the song is sexy, but romantic. Makes me want to chill in the shades during summer and sip something refreshing. This song made me check out its parent album, which I loved. For someone so late in their career, Mya is anything but uninspired or boring (Ashanti, take notes).

35. St. Vincent - New York

Image

Unusually for a lead single, this is a very subdued and sparse ballad, though doesn't lack in emotion. Even though I think Los Ageless should have been the big lead because of its energy, I rate this one slightly above it. There is something in the cold, almost robotic way of St. Vincent's vocal delivery and mannerisms that really works and manages to hit you hard.

34. Rachel Crow - Dime

Image

PURE BOP ALERT. But seriously, this is a very underrated pop song that no one really noticed. Rachel Crow is maybe known to some for her participation in the X Factor as a kid with a big voice, and her big pop comeback (after her previous single years ago) should've been welcomed more. This has a catchy melody, great vocals, slightly unusual structure to make it more interesting and it's overall just fun to listen to. I recommend it to all pop fans.

33. Rachel Platten - Broken Glass

Image

Objectively speaking this is basic as f. It sounds like a Sia demo and it's especially visible in the first verses. However, somehow it quickly went into my head and stayed there! What I like most about this is the euphoric buildup in the "I feel it changing" part - it's irrational and I can't explain it, but something just in that short part between the main verses and chorus creates such imagery in my head. I wish it had been a hit for her, it's by far superior to Fight Song.

Hmmm - Don't really know either of these songs. Gonna go give them a play for some payola.

Coolin - It's alright, nothing to special about it. Sometimes I feel the whole slow/sexy appeal song has a line that too many artists cross. Sister needs to go listen to #Slow and learn how its done.

New York - I'm sorry Carbon, I really disliked this... :(

Dime - Pretty basic Pop song TBH. The song doesn't really go anywhere

Broken Glass - Have yet to enjoy a song this artist has released. She seems like a lovely person though :D.

Dime - it's quite basic, I admit  I just think it's reeeeally catchy and I can play it all the time, should've been a nice basic hit
Broken Glass - I hate her other stuff and I hated this one as well, idk how it clicked with me exactly, so I understand your feels

32. Emeli Sandé - Starlight

Image

Never thought much of Emeli Sande and her boring-ass ballads, until she released this dance beast of a song! At first it's kind of too subtle and leaves you wanting more, but I've grown to appreciate the more simple and repetitive approach of it. I think it's easily the best thing she's done in her career, and even its ballad version is stunning, and honestly better than her other ballads. I really hope she continues in this dance direction despite the massive floppage of this song.

31. Iggy Azalea - Switch (feat. Anitta)

Image

Another one of 2017's big music tragedies is how this song flopped. Had it been released by 2014 Iggy. it would've slayed hard. It was a mistake to scrap the music video as these fanmade clips containing said video are amazing, and the whole product would've been perfect. This song deserves so much better, I'd even say it was meant to be the lead single, and not a 3rd single off a doomed album. All in all: a hot, fun track featuring two hot ladies.

That's all for today, stay tuned for the top 30!

Taylor is decent, Iggy I agree, would have been a smash back in the day, it's a really decent tune, Emeli - nooo sounds so basic, I found it a bit embarrassing when she tried that.

Wooah Rachel Crow! So weird to see her grown up and looking amazing. The song isn't bad, verses better than chorus, but she is a natural popstar and those scenes where she's in the black and white movie.. seems like she is a pretty good actress too. One of those people just born to be a star

It's been a while... so time to finally catch up here!

58. Halsey - Now or Never
57. Demi Lovato - Tell Me You Love Me
53. Katy Perry - Chained to the Rhythm (feat. Skip Marley)
51. Lana Del Rey - Lust for Life (feat. The Weeknd)
50. Demi Lovato - You Don't Do It for Me Anymore

45. Taylor Swift - ...Ready for It?
44. MØ - Nights With You
42. Tori Amos - Cloud Riders
37. Taylor Swift - Look What You Made Me Do
33. Rachel Platten - Broken Glass
Shocked (in a positive way) to see Rachel charting at all, and then even so high, wow!! :o I think this is a huge guilty pleasure and actually pop at its best. So incredibly catchy... a shame it wasn't a hit for her :(
Love Halsey, Demi, Katy and Taylor, the others are all good too.

I love that basic Emeli track but it's definitely not going to sell her to new fans.

Switch is a bop, shame she didn't bang it out in 2014.

this is a total list of all the ones i like. rachel platten song is so basic it's painful, surprised you stan taylor this era as Red and 1989 are much better, but i'm pleased why is LWYMMD so high though

the iggy song is quite good, the video is better than the song though and I don't get why she never released the video

30. Lana Del Rey - White Mustang

Image

This was one of the first songs I fell in love with on Lana's new album, and I was so happy when she announced a video for it! Sadly, the video turned out rather unworthy and boring. I thought this song would end up in the top 10, but it slightly grew off me, maybe because of that video. Still, even at "only" #30, it's still a great ballad filled with imagery. I associate the sound with hot summer, maybe also because I played it a lot this summer too.

29. Selena Gomez - Fetish (feat. Gucci Mane)

Image

I never liked her before, and I was always team-Demi. This year, I think I started to slowly switch to team-Selener. This song alone trumps anything Demi released from her new album! It's a shame it will remain the biggest underperformance of her current era considering it's definitely superior to Bad Liar and especially Wolves. I love the production, it's trappy, but I think it fits her whispery voice perfectly. The rapper is, as always, redundant. Idk what's with these generic rap feats everywhere, they keep ruining songs.

28. Charli XCX - Boys

Image

I don't have to say much about this song as it's a big favourite of this year to many members. I think it's one of Charli's best, an interesting, catchy pop song with a unique video that should've gone even more viral and given her a well-deserved smash! Shame that the public just ain't here for quality pop. The video is hypnotic and so nice to watch (tho Charlie Puth should go away). I hope she doesn't scrap this from her future album, if it ever happens.
