60 songs this year - I would struggle to do a top 100

Who will win? Vote in the poll - one song is a red herring and won't feature.

Starts soon!

Your shortlist goes from the excellent (Martin Solveig & MK) to the middling (Dua Lipa & Calvin Harris), to the dogshit (the rest) :D

^ So charming

I reckon we might have a few mutual favourites again!

Couldn't decide between MK and Solveig but in the end plumped for Martin over Marc

I voted for Martin Solveig on a gut feeling. Now lemme listen to the song as I don't know it (or him)!

Peter Gene Hernandez, known professionally as Bruno Mars, is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and choreographer.
I didn't like this at first but then I played it at a wedding and it hit me how catchy it is and the production is spot on.

The xx are an English indie pop band formed in 2005 in Wandsworth, London which currently consists of Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith (also known as Jamie xx).
Classic The xx but with a more commercial twist, loved the sample of Hall & Oates and the general wistful vibe of this track.

Steps are a British dance-pop group consisting of Lee Latchford-Evans, Claire Richards, Lisa Scott-Lee, Faye Tozer and Ian "H" Watkins.
A clear standout from the album and deserved single, this is Steps at their most positive and care-free - pure unadulterated pop.

On Hold is truly stunning, now realise I missed that song when making my countdown. Loved it during the beginning of the year.
Neon Blue is a-ma-zing ofcourse, although I prefer the other singles.

 at Bruno falling already! "That's What I Like" is terrific. I didn't like it early on when 24K Magic had just been released, but it grew on me right before the announcement that it'd be a single, and I was so happy to see it go all the way to #1 in the US. The music video also had to grow on me; I initially felt it was more appropriate for a lyric video, but this Key of Awesome parody really helped sell the original clip to me.

Same as everyone really, didn't love That's What I Like at first but like all the singles this era it has definitely grown on me.
Steps have had a fantastic era it's a credit to their team how seamlessly they have returned!

On Hold is cool, but I've lost interest in the band in general so I never bothered to check out the album

Isobel Beardshaw, better known as Izzy Bizu, is an English singer-songwriter signed to Epic Records.
Izzy is a really underrated talent; this is a catchy and really enjoyable track that almost saw her break the top 40 this year.

Lushington is a British producer and DJ.
Sampling Joss Stone's Put Your Hands On Me, this is an uplifting dance track full of rave synths, piano chords and a big sing-a-long chorus.

Thomas Mackenzie Bell, better known by the stage name of Toddla T, is an English DJ, record producer, remixer and composer.
Andrea Monica Martin is an American R&B singer-songwriter and producer.
Andrea's distinctive vocal lends perfectly to this melancholy house track which reminds me Mark Ronson's Somebody To Love Me.

I really liked the other three singles Steps released this year, but I could never get the hype around 'Neon Blue'.

Predicted MK due to your airplay thread enthusiasm. I think Ed Sheeran is a joke inclusion?
