Tony's Top Hits / Albums Of 2017 (COMPLETE!)

Not enough top quality albums to do a top 50 (strict rule of only 2017 album releases still applies) so it's a top 30 coming later.
From now until Jan 4th (hopefully more people will be around than last year as the school holidays extends to next week for many in the UK and more adults might have taken the same time off. Though i don't have much hope seeing how dead the second forum is :-? . Time to move it back to Personal Charts main forum?).

HITS

50 Rae Morris - Do It

First of 2 for her. Did nothing despite Radio 1 finally deciding she's great. :-?

HITS

48 Bjork - Arisen My Senses

The most recent release on the list (in terms of the qualifying video), this should have been the first single from the album as it's more immediate than the ones that came out. Her only appearance though the album is on the other list.

HITS

47 The War On Drugs - Pain

This group should be all over radio but they're still a rock radio cult - selling lots of albums in the UK but Joe Public hasn't a clue. :-?
Recognise the legacy of the late Tom Petty alongside Dylan, Springsteen and Adams.

HITS

45 Svala - Paper

One of 2 Eurovision surprises this year and the third slice of Iceland talent in this section :o . Like Spagna singing on a Depeche Mode track, this hit hard and should have qualified.

HITS

44 Blancmange - Anna Dine

Great pun, great single (full length grat version). Neil Arthur deserves the radio play that OMD get. No video, mind. :-?

Rae Morris and Dream Wife are definitely the better side of 2017.
I have to admit I expected more from The War On Drugs, nevertheless they're also good

1st of 2 (she's also 1 of only 3 artists to make the YE Hits 50 2 years running). UK radio had the right idea backing this grat while she fannies about promoting tracks from the album that AREN'T good.

36 Sleaford Mods - BHS - solid song, but didn't make my cut
35 Charlotte Gainsbourg - Deadly Valentine - her album was fine and I feel like she was right in the choice of singles
33 Paul Thomas Saunders - Christmas, The Sequel - when the sequel is better than __________ (insert a random Christmas song's name here)
