Thanks for commenting, trebor, heppolo, Blondini and Tansike!
Thanks for sharing. I understand you completely (had a similar phase last October or so).
Do whatever you are enjoying the most and the charts updates and UKMiX is secondary, really!
Talk to you soon!
With a couple of months gone by I'm not sure anymore it's just a phase and not a permanent change. But I'm not good at predicting stuff, even what I myself will be doing...

I picked this for the number one.
Not a bad choice! It was actually the song with the highest plays in a single week (505) during the year, ahead of "Clean Break" (462). (The #1 peaked at 254 plays, only the 9th biggest song in that respect.)
70 Wrenn On the Run Number 70 (131.5)
One that missed my YE 50 and i'm looking forward to hearing from her again.
Yeah, great song, and a 100% one-hit-wonder for me so far; haven't heard anything else at all by her.
Time to see what i like/love in the Top140... i guess the score at the end of the songs are their points? So the #1 was VERY clear, as i expected
The numbers are the total number of plays during the year. Usually I truncate these to integers when I present stuff here (except in the weekly chart Archive thread) but my software counts fractional plays if I listen to between 0.30 and 1.50 of a song (i.e. below 30 seconds doesn't count at all and above 110 seconds counts as a full play). Yup, very clear #1, and it was even more clear before "Clean Break" showed up in October.

Great that you like so many songs (many more than I did on your YEC
), and especially the #1 which I didn't remember you commenting on before.
Tansike wrote:Meghan Patrick's "Country Music Made Me Do It"... thanks a lot for that discovery!! I checked this song out when it was on your weekly chart and enjoyed it enough to write down the album release date and since then i'm really enjoying the whole release. It's definitely one of the best releases this year so far (Top10 on my Album-YTD list)
Great to hear this! Even though for me the album didn't really live up to my expectations. Meghan is sort of a "two-hit-wonder" for me now, not that I don't like more songs by her but there are two ("Breaking Records" and the new title track) way ahead of the rest in total plays.
Tansike wrote:I only looked the chartrun for "Sanctuary" up a few days ago as i wondered how it did on your charts (because i didn't remember it anymore) and i was surprised it didn't do better. But the chartrun was probably better than i thought, or its plays were higher than expected, as #17 is a much better Year-End position than i expected. Due to the EP release the track grew a lot on me and now i'm enjoying it a lot, so nice it made your Top20.
It was a very strong #3, with two weeks above 100 plays which very rarely happens for a non-#1. I.e. the song got unlucky on my weekly chart with very strong competition (as seen from the YEC chart positions of the songs that were higher week 47-50).
"Schönster Moment" 'only' #30 though. Here i expected a better position, but it's still an awesome one. Especially after you didn't like Vanessa's first solo album, it was nice to see how you enjoyed "Regenbogen" much more and the same happened with me. "Schönster Moment" is still my most favorite song from her EVER (as a soloist, don't know much from her days with the band, apart from the singles and maybe "Der Zaubertrank ist leer" which was huge on your charts). I still hope it's a proper single at some point
Sort of the opposite effect here, competition was relatively weak when that song was released. It did get one week above 100 plays though (but only 28 its second best week). Just to make the top 30 on my YEC usually mean I like the song a lot
though, and although 2017 was weaker than the years just before further down on the chart, the top 30 was still strong.
"Fetish" in the Top100
Is this the first time ever for a Selena track to be in your Top100?
No! Not even close!
You must have forgotten about "Cologne" that was #1 on my weekly chart after the album release in 2015; that one ended up at #20
on my YEC that year, and also did well the year after and should have a good shot at making the top 100 on the decade
chart! And that's not even her highest YEC position. "Outlaw" was as high as #12
in 2011 (although competition was much weaker that year). Even "Good for You" was #26 in 2015. And in 2013 "Slow Down" was #64 and "Love Will Remember" #93. ("Sober" and "Me & the Rhytm" missed the top 100, but only because 2015 was such a strong year.)
