Strong set! "Move You," "Too Much to Ask," "Look What You Made Me Do," "The Cure," and "That's What I Like" were all highlights of the year for me. The Switchfoot song made it as far as #2 on my daily chart, too.

"Overtime" is good, I owe you thanks for introducing me to "Dancing Through the Wreckage," and "Perfect" is the best of the set - Ed at his saccharine best!

Image 10 . Katy Perry feat. Skip Marley - Chained To The Rhythm (PEAK: # 1 for 3 Weeks )

Even though, overall, I was disappointed with the "Witness" album, this lead single still showed Katy Perry doing what she does best - catchy pop songs. Combined with deeper lyrics on here that get you thinking, it's no surprise that she finds herself in a familiar place - indeed, 8 of the past 10 years have had a Katy Perry song in my year-end top 10!

Image 9 . Kate Voegele - Don't Count Me Out (PEAK: # 2 )

Much like back in 2009 and 2010, my favourite singer, Kate Voegele, gets three of the year-end top 10! This time, they all come from her album "Canyonlands", which was released in late 2016. This song, with uplifting lyrics about never giving up, became an early highlight for me and, despite failing to reach #1, still finds itself in my top 10 of the year!

Image 8 . John Mellencamp feat. Martina McBride - Grandview (PEAK: # 2 )

It seems like every year, I have a "geezer" artist in my year-end top 10. I've enjoyed many of John Mellencamp's classics from the 80's and 90's, but lately he hadn't quite been up to the same quality. This changed here, as this song's imagery of a vacation getaway and heartland rock sound, coupled with a guest appearance by country legend Martina McBride, was a return to form for him that ranks up there with his classics. It's also the highest entry here that never reached #1 on my weekly chart.

Image 7 . Kate Voegele - Catch Me On Fire (PEAK: # 1 for 2 Weeks )

And here she is again! The second of three Kate songs in the top 10 really drew me in from its upbeat, pulsating intro with a high-energy guitar sound throughout. I knew from the time I first heard her sing this live several years before the album's release that it would be one of her best songs ever, and the studio version definitely lived up to the promise! Still one more to come, but how high did "World Stops Spinning" rank?

Image 6 . Calvin Harris feat. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry & Big Sean - Feels (PEAK: # 1 for 3 Weeks )

Calvin Harris is one of those artists who I've usually found decent but never quite strong enough for a huge personal hit. However, here he takes a break from his usual EDM sound for a more old-school, funk-influenced jam that, combined with vocals from Pharrell Williams and Katy Perry, really became a winner with one of my top hits of the summer! It's the highest appearance for all artists involved.
